It actually takes a lot to do, you have to talk to her and be nice to her all through the dawnguard storyline, but if you manage to cure her, u can't become a vampire anymore and also she is not going to marry you anyway (for all Serana's simps)
Serana is an ancient pure-blood vampire and the daughter of Lord Harkon and Valerica. She is known as one of the "Daughters of Coldharbour," and because of this she is central to the main questline in Dawnguard. After being encountered, she can be recruited as a follower, unlocking a multitude of interactions.
What happen if Serana CURED VAMPIRISM in Skyrim - Ігри
Serana is so much more fleshed out and better written than other companions, it's almost absurd.
Well, she is the main character of an entire DLC.

It's actually a lot more fun as a werewolf than a vampire to be honest.

@@zjamieibzjamieib145 Remember when America was super anti black? Then eventually we got a black president. It’s that, but with vampires and medieval knights.
It should be noted that this works ONLY if the player has NEVER made any slipups up to then, including but not limited to asking Serana too early if she would be cured. It is in my opinion one of the easiest things to screw up by accident.
Yeah practically every other dialogue choice in the game doesn't have significant lasting consequences, except for that one. Which seems so innocuous too, like from any rational perspective vampirism is a disease or a curse, because we haven't lived with it for eons. It's not our normal. Imagine the flipside, where some vampire is like "Don't you want to become one of us?" Assuming you didn't, that would immediately sour your view.
@@adamb89 Yeah, right? It's almost as if we were back in the good old days when you could be totally screwed in a game by failing to pick up a completely unprepossessing item two hours earlier.

@@feynthefallen Hero's Quest, which later became Quest for Glory to avoid a copyright issue with the makers of the Hero Quest board game, offered a nice middle ground solution to that. There weren't a whole lot of insta-kill situations in the game, and for the most part you had multiple options to accomplish the same goals because of the character classes. But you weren't locked in to a solution, if you spread your points around you could pick locks as a fighter, cast spells as a thief, etc.

the amount of missed opportunities bethesda has made might as well rival the amount of games that exist. they are kings as missing things. weather that be coding or small things like marrying serana they miss so much shit its stupid. the one and only reason skyrim is relevant is due to modders. bethesda puts in 1000 times less effort than 1 modder.

Go read up on how the original Vampire was made, then read Serana's bio. Note the use of the term "Second Era" which I will suggest (and hear me out here) might have occured before the "Third Era".
Serana went through the process of "being offered to Molag Bal". Now I'm no cynic, but I imagine this is likely to involve Molag Bal, to a great degree... Sure it doesn't sxplicitly state that Molag Bal took partt... But let's let occam's razor manifest here eh? Because it's his blood and participation (and survival of the ordeal) that turned the first, and likely all future daughters of Coldharbour.
As for accessing Nirn. Even if Serana's turning occured in the current era it is already shown that the Princes and their minions can still manifest on Nirn in one form or another (Sanguine physically, Sheogorath in Pelagius' mindscape and even Barbas) with presumably at least a degree of their power intact. The doors of Oblivion might be shut, but clearly they also forgot a few windows.

There's also a glitch wherein if you cure Serana of her vampirism, the option to have her as a follower will no longer be available. I found this out not too long ago, about a couple years ago, even though I've been playing this game for near on 10 years lol. In any case, that glitch makes the option honestly not worth it because losing Serana as a follower means we lose the one follower with some actual character that also happens to be a wickedly powerful sorceress.
Also, with my current build, keeping her as a vampire keeps a whole "yin-yang" thing going between her and my character - she's a Nord vampire and I'm a Breton werewolf, and that she's a strong magic user while I'm heavy into physical combat via a two-handed warhammer.
The PC Master Race has all the mods for her to allow anything in the game. Anything.
Never seen this before, I always went with the vampires because I loved the cool area, quests, and mechanics behind being a vampire

If they ever do any Skyrim updates (specifically Dawnguard), they ought to - unless they’ve done so already - take out Serana’s red eyes AFTER she’s cured, just to make the cure seem legitimately complete.
If you look closely (at least in the video, I haven't seen in-game), after being cured, her eyes are green

Awsome sneak attack
Yep, and I always do it. Incidentally, I never let them turn me into a vampire. It's just NOT worth it. You're weakened by sun and when sated, and as you get hungrier (and more powerful) you start looking more vampy until guards attack you on sight. Unless you're a hardcore roleplayer, it's not fun; it's just a pain in the butt. Better to be a werewolf, which has no real disadvantages.

Why she isn’t Marriageable is beyond me personally
Because the last time she participated in a ceremony in a temple, she ended up getting raped to death by the most unambiguously evil entity in the entire universe.
Kinda put a damper on the thought of doing it again.
She isn't marriageable because if she was a marriage option then she'd pretty much be THE only option for the most part, it'd be hard not to choose her over anyone else so it wouldn't be fair to the other marriage options.

@@R_J8 I was working on getting over my overly cautious playstyle and became a vampire at lvl 1.
It has gotten easier after Dawnguard came out.
I was playing vanilla at the time and first thing I did was going to Haemar’s shame. Taking out the thrall in the first room. Made the vampire aware of my presence and ran back out of sight. During that time, they all manage to feed without killing innocents. (I prefer the become a vampire route for that quest, better to sacrifice one's body than damage the soul, even if I do have a few dozen dragon souls by that point) If I can manage it while being a vampire for a few weeks, Serana, who has been a vampire for thousands of years surely can.

I have just shy of 1,000 hours on Skyrim and I've never done this. Always played as a vampire for these quests so I've never ever wanted to turn her
This companion is so confusing. How do you get all this dialogue? I can’t ask her any of these things

Am I the only one here who knew this... 😅
Its too bad this changes nothing. She still says the line about the sunlight all the time
She complains when it's sunny and when it's rainy. Can't remember what she says when it's cold but probably complains.
I don't like the dialogue here. Her "No, why" response doesn't feel believable at all with her character, unless she never thought about it because she figured it was an impossibility. And if that's the case, "I'll go see Falion about it" like she's taking a trip to the doctor sounds totally off. Curing vampirism is supposed to be the stuff of legends.
Here's some better writing:
Dragonborn: Have you ever thought about curing your vampirism?
Serana: Please, that's not funny.
Dragonborn: I was being serious.
Serana: You think I can just choose to stop being like this? It's not as simple as going to a healer or buying a potion.
Dragonborn: I see your point. Sorry I mentioned it.
OR (if the Dragonborn knows about Falion)
Dragonborn: There's a man named Falion in Morthal. I think he can help you.
