Thanks a lot! To the point and very detailed. When I first opened v-vocals, it was so non-intuitive that I just gave up. Now I realise I can use it very successfully on my tracks
Thanks, I watched this after 2 from Cakewalk, and your 1 video on this subject worked better for me than their two. This is one of the best how to videos I have seen on UA-cam. Each thing you discussed was very helpful.
Excellent! You know your stuff on this, and have a gift for explaining it in a comfortable and concise manner. Much appreciate your taking the time to help.
I wouldn't use it for that because you would have to pitch shift the notes a lot and it would add artifacts> If you wanted to play with it make a copy of the vocal on a new track. Open V-Vocal and pull the pitch to the desired notes. If you select the entire section you could pull the notes all at once. Then go to the format section and play with the control to get it to sound believable
Though I use V vocal on almost all of my tracks. I have been under using it's potential. Thank you for the Video. V vocal kicks ass and so does Sonar X2.
I create all my choral harmonies naturally, but I have clients who need this feature, I don't do it in v-vocal but in melodyne instead, but it is doable on this as well and I've taught it to many people=. It is not as good as antares autotune or melodyne for the creation of harmonies, but it will do.
Put the pitch follow at 0 instead of 100 so that formant is automatically adjusted when moving notes up/down semitones. This feature should be on by default, but Cakewalk chooses to start V-Vocal with Pitch Follow at 100. The complexity of the algorithm leading to natural sounding correction requires pith follow at 0. Same to create harmonies, but reduce the dynamics so its not overtaking the original natural voice, staying underneath the 0db-mix line; hidden enough so artifacts aren't heard.
Hey you do fine. THanks for your input. I can't get my erase to work in V-Vocal. It highlights (shows eraser moving with more white on the eraser) over where I lay it over the sound but it doesn't erase! Can you help?. WXP Pro /Sonar X1 Producer/ Delta 1010/

Incredibly helpful. Great work. 10/10
Thanks for the "dynamics" section of the tutuorial. I had been using volume automation to cut the unwanted breaths out of the vocal.
Thanks chuck, this is a great tutorial for me as I'm just getting started on Sonar.
That was really good man, i will have to watch all of your vids. this was extremely helpful thank you

I've never had that issue. You can always go through the V-Vocal tab above the ruler

That vocal was still WAY out of tune even after v-vocal. I get that you are not a singer but you would think it would still do a better job.
