I have been running the same hx1500i for over a year now and I have not once had my psu fan come on due to heat / load. And that's with a oc 4090 and oc 13700k. I have hwinfo64 open 24/7 and it never has shown rpm unless when I wake it from sleep it does a little quick fan kick up and turns off. Been a great power supply.
Nice build, i have a similar one but instead of 96GB 6400MT/s i got myself 48GB 9000MT/s from G.Skill as they cost the same in my country and for gaming i never needed more then 48gb. And surprisingly the 9000 MT/s Expo profile works with the X870E-E and 9800x3d after bios update.
Nice. 96GB is way overkill. I only occasionally need the extra size when I'm running a RAM disk, but with as fast as the T705 was, I'm not sure I even need that anymore.
Thank you for this, was looking at a similar build with the Asus x870e Rog Strix 👍, just waiting to see what the Rtx 50 series brings before committing! Thank you ❤
Yeah Motherboard manufacturers owners manuals are really lacking in information these days, they want us to look it up on line. I'm an industrial Printer by trade, Print print and print some more, it's actually good for the forest by cleaning out all the downed tress and planting new ones.
0:44 isnt 870 supposed to have usb 4.0 mandatory? also a question about the OS, Ive been using my pc for about 4-5 years, on an intel platform, and im now going over to a 9800x3D. If i just plug in my boot drive after swapping all the parts. will the machine boot as normal? just with a bunch of new hardware? or will I need to do a bunch of driver swaps/ reinstallations Nice build btw, I'd be interested to know how that air cooler handles the 9800X3D, im gonna be reusing my H100i pro (managed to find the am4/5 bracket in my pile of boxes lol)
Yes! The USB4 is on the back I/O panel, and it actually has 2 ports, where most x870 boards only have 1. I always recommend reinstalling Windows with a new build. My experience attempting to re-use an old install have been it locking up and needing to reinstall Windows anyway. You also may need to unlink the Windows key from the old motherboard. The air cooler is killing it. If you already have a H100i, then you may as well re-use it.
Ins't part of the reason for the offset mount due to the cpu dies not being centered under the heat spreader on the cpu? So you can offset the cooler so that it is more directly above the die?
I was using that exact same psu with a 4090 running full bore for stable diffusion and never had any issues. It's a good psu. Just make sure you use a good cable.
Why not instaling the second fan on that Noctua cooler ? you paid for those fans ... no wonder your CPU went 91°C on Cinebench... You plugged SATA cables that you don't need on your modular PSU but somehow passed on plugging in the second CPU power cable on the motherboard ? We really don't have the same priorities 😄
@@Distractor_Beam Its not too tall for the case : the ram sticks you picked are is too high because of that RGB thing on it. Priorities, to each his own ... 😊

as a rule of thumb, do not give windows internet access during installation, keeps some bloatware away

Solid cpu. What is your idle cpu temp on the 9800x3d with the big fat air cooler?
I haven't given it a chance to go idle, but it's at 48C right now.

could ya rate a pc part list ?
There are links to the parts I used in this build in the video description.

Good catch! I had to look that up. You made me learn something. 😃👍
i got an hx1000 psu but am worried about atx3 compatibility should i change it ???

It's too tall for the case. I'm using the SATA cables. The 2nd cable isn't needed. Correct.

@@Blafard666 It's standard height RAM.
