I'm waiting to see your rain catchment system. I think my ideas for one will work great. But I like to see what others do, and maybe learn something new. Cool lottle bunker. I wouldn't bother with electric bcuz in any major weather evemt the electric doesn't work. But stashing food & water and board games or cards and a solar generator & solar lights are needed. Build a sliding slat bed frame. Your memory foam mattress could be folded to make it a couch or pull the slat frame out & make it into a bed. So kool.
It was cold this morning! Thank goodness it warmed up as the day progressed. You are tall! 6'4"....on camera you don't look that tall. Good idea to catch water and I'm with you, I wouldn't have the tank in my house. It was fun watching you stuff that mattress down in the shelter. I don't see any vents in that roof to let air in the shelter when the door is shut?
Glad you have gone with a tank.. we have only rainwater tanks. No paying councils for water. We have 2@5000gl and 3@1200 gl. All are connected to on demand pressure pump..we can isolate each tank as needed. Ours are ouside to collect water from roof of house and shed. Need a base of sand or crusher dust.
Hi John, that spray foam is the best way you could go, money well spent. Storm shelter looks pretty nice, that will give you peace of mind. It’s all coming together. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Should you bury that water catchment? instead of 100 degrees in summer and very cold in the winter the ground is insulated at 50 all year. itd be out of the elements, out of the way and not an eye sore. Everything being done seems top notch and coming along great!
The rain catchment from the gutters to the tank would be best if the tank/s were located outside and lower than the slab. Also, if you take your Patriot Survival Food 5 gallon buckets and place them on the floor of your bunker with a piece of plywood, you'd have a great mid section bed pedestal. 😂😅 Love ya'll ❤
Hey there John! Man that spray foam looks outstanding! They did an awesome job. Nice job with the gutters. Can’t wait to see you hook up the water tank. Your bunker is pretty sweet! That is a really good idea to put it inside the barndo. Wow, this journey is getting exciting! Already can’t wait for the next video! Great work John!! Ok, y’all have a great night! 🍺
Hey John, You may want to consider keeping a small solar generator (like a Jackery 240) plugged in charging just outside the entrance to the bunker. Just unplug and grab on the way down and you have power phones, lights, etc. for less than $400.
When you build the frame for the bed in the bunker, structure it as a drawer for easy access to storage. A five gallon bucket with sawdust can be an emergency toilet. Everything is looking great. Rain catchment would be much simpler if the tank were outside and the down spouts routed to it from the roof rather then going underground and having to get back up to the top of the tank.
1st pack a small bag of clothes for warm and cold weather and leave in the camper,2nd get some of those batter lanterns and some non perishable food and put them in the bunker sooner then later..as we all know these days tornadoes happen even in the winter time...dont be completely xaught off guard and also throw some bottled water down there too..otherwise looking great..
Hi John love watching your channel wonderful job you have done to the Ranch beautiful couple blessings 🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️♥️♥️ sending many love to both you and your beautiful wife
Hi John Cant wait to see you hooking it all up . The spray foam looks good You might invest in some form of batteries or solar to run the lights in bunker
Awesome, and wow that tank does look huge now that it's in the barndo 😮👍... Putting it on the outside is a good idea, I think putting it underground would be easier for the cutters to feed it and will keep the water cooler 👍❤️
Would be nice to have a battery powered security system set up down there to keep you abreast of what is happening above ground. If you burry those water tanks they would be out of the way and kept cooler in hot weather plus would never freeze.
John I love it except I can't do closed in spaces. Does it have air flow? Anyway, when you fix something for the mattress you might think about it being for storage too. You could make it a drawer so you could pull it out to make reaching your supplies easier. Love your place and land so much.
Jey john n Natasha. Jared sent me! I have seen ya before but didn't have notifications on. Love the shirt and your logo! Btw, get a foam mattress, they come wrapped and can fit in your bunker.
Thanks for letting me know, my fears would be what if something from the house fell on top of the bunker ? Would it then be difficult to open the door as it's flat on the ground or get air in, again I would think some may say dumb questions. I live up here in New England by the coast, hurricanes are our concern up here, but have no clue about twisters other than seeing movies or the news.
If your luck is like mine, I’d be the one that leaks..! I like the stairs..mine has those straight up and down ladders type.. kinda hard to get down at my age.,
Yep.. our 5000 gl are blue to match the shed... and our $1000 gals are dove grey to match the house. Tanks are the norm for Australians living out of towns.
Not in the poly tanks. We have all tank water the past 6 years.. fed through twin filters.. fresh every time. We drink it..wash in it. Its why they are the best water storage you can have.
Nice Tornado shelter my friend! Be sure to store some "COLD BEER" down there too. 😂
Too funny Jack! F-5 tornado coming honey, grab the Beer🍺

Hope the bunker door never gets hidden under debris of the building falling on it.
South Texas living sent me and said to say what's up cool channel brother 😎
Thanks for coming over, appreciate it

Maybe a piece of 1 1/4 plywood with a stiff leg would hold the mattress up good for you. Great looking place guys
I like how youre planning ahead ! Good job ! Always Good to be prepared Especially when it comes to a tornado. Those are no joke
Awesome! John I can't wait to see what it looks like when you are finished!!!
Cold beer, you make me laugh, watchin you put that mattress down there lmao🤣
Exciting things happening and that bunker is awesome ✌️❤️
HUGE water tank . That mattress kicked your butt😊
Hi John 🍻 will be nice to have the rain catchment. Love the size of your barndo & the bunker is so nice 👍
Dude! That is sweet! It's all coming along nicely!
Your spray foam came out good. The bed in the bunker was a good idea. Good to see you today. Take care✌️🇺🇸❤️
You’ve made a lot of progress since I last saw about a year ago. Nice work! Those little steps over time really add up 😊👍
Hi John love watching your channel wonderful job you have done to the Ranch beautiful couple blessings 🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️♥️♥️ sending many love to both you and your beautiful wife
You can live down there with hole you are finishing the houses- no need to have the camper!!! 💜
I think that would be a bad idea putting the tank on the inside. But in the end, it's your tank do with what you want.. woohoo 🙌 it's looking good 👍
I want a storm shelter bad here in Ga. The insulation foam looks good. Nice job!
Hi John
Cant wait to see you hooking it all up . The spray foam looks good

What about building some cabinets or some kind of storage space to support the bed?
Great idea!

@AuntieAnn- I don’t comment much but I saw your name n just wanted to say it’s great to see ya❤️❤️
@@IluvJayember.i3 Hi 👋😃
Put a farm jack in there as well you never know ✌🏻
Good idea
I had a tree fall on my stirm celler door last June. It was that big of a issue, but it could of been. That tree is completely cut down now. Lol
Looking nice 👍🏻 John little by little your getting it done great idea for the bunker love 💗 from Ohio Irene and god bley
I think it is best to use storage totes for the platform!
That’s a GREAT idea!🍺
Like the video I drive to work with the moon (on the road 3am everyday 80 miles one way)👍looking good.😊
Looking good, John.
Thanks for sharing love you cool video different kids of water tanks that’s for sure
Awesome video John!

Robert, love the security idea. Gotta do that🍺
wow that tank does look huge , Great work John!!

Hi cold beer so happy to see you ❤️
Nice job and prep!
The way things are going you going to need a lot of stuff in there
Jey john n Natasha. Jared sent me! I have seen ya before but didn't have notifications on.
Love the shirt and your logo!
Btw, get a foam mattress, they come wrapped and can fit in your bunker.
Nice seeing you at Crockers.
Your house is looking great!!!
So happy to see you guys today wish I could watch you more often enjoy it!!!!
Looks awesome
Nice bunker
Only person I “know” (HeeHee) with a bed in their storm shelter. Lol. I agree with keeping the water catchment tank outside.
Coming right along!
John, I have what some may think is a dumb question, how is air for whoever is in there to get in to breath ?
No dumb questions, the bunker has vents at the top for air
Thanks for letting me know, my fears would be what if something from the house fell on top of the bunker ? Would it then be difficult to open the door as it's flat on the ground or get air in, again I would think some may say dumb questions. Looks like Big Operation
Is it possible for you have a well on the property ??
Smash the thumbs up 👍 for coooold 🍺.
Oh yeah!
If your luck is like mine, I’d be the one that leaks..! I like the stairs..mine has those straight up and down ladders type.. kinda hard to get down at my age.,
Oh oky just heard you mention the vents.
Nice bunk
Can I move in? That looks cozy
I like how everybody puts a bunker in but makes the door swing out so how does that open when stuff gets piled on top from a disaster.
Does the bunker have any fresh air coming in?
Collllld Beeerrr!!!
Looking good. What size is the bunker?
12 person- i think 6ft tall, 8 1/2 long and 6ft-ish wide
❤ hugs
Nice tank, does it go under ground?
It could but plan on above
👍
One person goes down to bunker then pull mattress and 2 person guides it down. 🤣
The cream and blue colored ones are made by an Australian company.
Yep.. our 5000 gl are blue to match the shed... and our $1000 gals are dove grey to match the house. Tanks are the norm for Australians living out of towns.
Hello John how are you doing.?
Does rain water go stagnant if it sits around for a while?
Not in the poly tanks. We have all tank water the past 6 years.. fed through twin filters.. fresh every time. We drink it..wash in it. Its why they are the best water storage you can have.
Hello CBR Family
That was a workout but you got it
That's a good size.....didn't realize it until you were sitting in it
Putting the water barrel in their is dangerous. During a storm if you are in the basement and the building burst the container.
🇳🇴👍👍
If a F5 comes on you your whole place will be gone
Except the bunker
@coldbeerranch nope. F5 hit Moore Oklahoma and concrete slabs was gone from direct hit
You needed abed in a box.
👍
