I flew hang gliders for a ten year period in Southern California from late 80s to late 90s. Now I'm retired in Thailand teaching SCUBA diving and enjoying my life and the aquatic life. The only thing that could make me get up and move to somewhere else would be getting back into hang gliding and moving to a place where non expensive living with awesome flying is possible and films like this sure make me think. Just awesome.
Hey Érico, the man who brought us back to the shore is an ex powered hang glider pilot who saw us landing and came to meet us. The cool thing is that it wasn't a boat but a 70 years old Volkswagen Schwimmwagen, very cool

Andrea, wow, maybe the most beautiful HG video I have ever seen!! Thank you so much! Couple of years ago I have been at your place to do a hang landing training with Ignazio which unfortunately did not get that far. Maybe you remember, you did a test flight with my Seedwings Funky 15 from the training hill including a hang landing. I would really be interested if you could make some kind of a hang landing tutorial video. Especially I would be interested in hang landings with single surface gliders as I think this is more challenging in timing as you can't glide so far parallel to the slope. Different methods of changing from prone to upright would be interesting, and if it is possible (depending on the steepness of the slope) to gain enough speed if you do the approach completely on the uprights. If you could do something like that I would be very pleased. There is not much information on those techniques on the web. Cheers, Christian

occurred to me recently, no one has diligently tried to launch early above the marine inversion here. I launched at 9:30 intending to fly down to a club meeting I was a day late for, and found myself climbing through 8 grand before 10 am.
@@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding a few magic moments, @5:10 the other glider on downwind in the background, @ 5:25 your landing from downwind leg....from experience flying with 5# 35mm film cameras, knows how hard it is to get decent in flight images of other gliders....

I flew a couple of years paraglider which was nice. But did not manage to fly xcountry. Now flying sailplanes, where xcountry flights are rather easy with >40:1. But hang gliding is still very cool, I like.
