I agree with the drone theory on viking island. It could also be low guttural growls akin to death metal false chords that the vikings allegedly incorporated in their music.
That airplane is apart of a side mission and that small box has parts inside that go along with the side mission. There are several of these crashes plans and small wooden boxes. It was in all honesty my favorite mission in the game so far. It takes you around the entire map. UPDATE: The side mission is called “A Soul in Rest” at least that is the first one. There are two or three parts to it.
There are many easter eggs in this game...but a think a have found some refference to RDR2 Arthurs grave...i search here in YT and Google for discovered EGs and have found nothing about that...the grave is almost like that one of Arthur...i think is an EG about that...gotta be.
