The Mercurotti - Marc Martel

  • I posted this a few years ago, and it garnered roughly 2 Million views over the course of time. Not too shabby for a strange idea I had while shaving. Last night - and we won’t point any fingers - the video was accidentally deleted from my channel during some routine maintenance. OH, THE HORROR. All those wonderful comments… gone forever. *tear*… *sniff*.
After a brief minute of grieving, we are now choosing to look at this unfortunate flub as a blessing in disguise. Since mid-2018, my channel has exploded tenfold, literally. So, this is as good a time as any to reintroduce “The Mercurotti.”
“Nessun Dorma” has become a favorite of mine to perform at solo shows, rock shows, and even Queen tribute shows. It was Pavarotti’s calling card, and I’ve often wished he’d sung a duet with Freddie Mercury. Perhaps it would have sounded a bit like this. This was shot as a 3-camera one-take, with the help of my wife, Crystal. The only vocal overdub is the “Pavarotti” harmony at the very end, as I’ve yet to master singing in two voices at once. Please enjoy.
S/O to Jason Germain for creating the soundtrack.

Максим Варонин написал по английски, потом увидел имя. В общем, про Show.
Who want to live forever, в которой он звучит в кульминации. Марк ее тоже ни разу не брал.

They were campaigning for an Oscar. Enough said. Before any of that the producer Graham King did an industry interview about his 10 year journey to make the film and said and I quote : "Rami sings a little bit in the film, there's a lot of Freddie Mercury obviously, and a lot of Marc Martel. He sent a video to Brian May and Roger Taylor and he sounds exactly like Freddie Mercury. We knew that we had someone we could use for parts that maybe Rami couldn't do and obviously Freddie didn't do. So we were in Abbey Road recording studio for maybe two and a half months with Marc and with Rami, recording bits and pieces that we knew we needed. It's hard to find someone who can sing like Freddie Mercury _and I'm not sure the movie would have happened if we didn't have Marc_ ." In actuality Rami 's movement coach confirmed that he sang into a dead mic during filming to get authentic throat and facial movement . He didn't sing an actual note in the film. The only vocals used in the film was Marc Martel and vocal stems of FM from old master recordings.

So nice and down to earth. Your music "Martel" is absolutely amazing!! Like I told you "Stalemate" was my Fav! But now "The Remake" is on auto repeat...that one note you hold is incredible!!! My daughter absolutely adores you! We are huge Marc Martel fans!!! And hope you can make your way to Raleigh NC or Wilmington NC. Thank you- Thank you- for being you! God bless you! -Joe & Riley
