hi sir) would love to hear your opinion on which one is better for multimedia?
I love the sound of HS8! I feel relaxed with HS8's sound. The bass of S360DB is too much, and the mids not as good. I'm planning to upgrade my pc speakers, but HS8 is too big for me. I'm only about half meter from the speakers, so maybe a 2.1 system will do. Besides Edifier, pls also test a Swan 2.1 system. Swan M50W MKIII is the newest model.
The HS8 are the winner of your channel for the entire history. They are the most versatile active speaker setup that sounds good across all genres of music at least that your mics pickup. I absolutely love them!

@@AbsoluteFidelity nah fam cuz the a300 pros have an upper treble boost around 13khz and up that can make them sound fatiguing. i doubt toeing them in or out will help due to the dispersion of the horn loaded ribbon tweeter so a peq will be needed. the hs8s also have some boost in the presence region but they play more neutral overall
@@tanjl-rx3qf a boost at around 13khz isnt anything to speak of, there isnt much information up there. Fatigue doesnt come from that region, it mostly comes from the presence region namely 3 - 9khz. Also, treble becomes very directional, horn loaded or not and toeing it out will solve most of that peaking there. Whether the 13khz peak is caused intentionally or tweeter break up, its out of the crucial zone and if its by design, it can easily be PEQed out if you are anal about it. I would PEQ other crucial regions even before thinking about touching the 13khz region.

ahh those HS8's are beautiful. Deep bass, and tight. I assume the subwoofer on the s360DB is adjustable? I wonder how it would sound turned down just a bit? Sure sounds good in long night with that strong deep bass. Truth is you're getting a presence with a larger set of stereo speakers than you will with a smaller 2.1 system with a big woofer. Though woofers can be fun too in situations like some games and movies.
Even through smartphone speakers Yamaha sounds closer to original ^^
I don't understand the point of this review. This isn't even a proper comparison of 2 products in the same class.
The Edifier is a bookshelf speaker system for music enthusiasts or budget entry level Hi-Fi consumers - you can literally fit them easily on a bookshelf or a work/PC desk or even a big room or living room. Accordingly it has a wireless subwoofer for you to place according to your convenience and bluetooth and other functionality.
The Yamahas are monitor speakers for accurate sound reproduction. Each of them are way larger than the Edifer subwoofer+single speaker combined! The Yamaha will never fit on a desk or bookshelf. They need speaker stands for elevation off the floor.
In terms of price, the Yamaha speakers have to be bought in pairs, which means that they cost WAY WAY WAY more than the Edifiers - nearly double!
Don't really understand the point of this review except to show that Edifier can make something for much less money, size and volume and yet produce very excellent sound close to that of monitor speakers used by professional musicians!

А где же АЧХ??? Да и надо было хотя бы микрофоны по центру каждого испытуемого ставить. У 360 звук от этого очень сильно зависит.

Typical with the large bookshelves vs the medium bookshelves + woofer. You get the fuller sound with the bigger ones, but you get better and brighter highs and punchier, more precise lows with the 2.1. Comes down to preference I suppose.

Hs 8 is always great in his own Category!
There isn't a speaker more "hi fi" than a good studio monitor. Hifi is low linear and no linear distortion, and Yamaha is far more hi fi than the edifier
Hifi means more fidelity and in this comparison Yamaha HS8 has more fidelity and accuracy than edifer 2.1 system for sure bu i agree with your other points you made

For gaming/movies/music on computer i choose 2.1 (better bass)
For studio monitor 2.0
but the hs8 had the better low end....

You must know, room gain add disortion to the sound and especially low tones, microphone is not best way to record natural sound from speakers, so i wonder why you judge "floppy and muddy" :D

And again what is "better" low end, you say about all americans or only you? this speakers dont have real low end (yamaha hs8) this is studio speakers.

S360db seems to have more hight and space overall, with much more impact on the lower hights. Hoever, HS8, which are more expensive, sound maybe more balanced. Seriously lacks bass though, and with the optional boomer, you are over 1000$... not exactly in the same league.

Edifier just too much bass opposite to mid-range on treble ,good for movies but not for critical or serious music listening i think. Maybe eq down subwoofer by like 4-6dB and it would be much better
Just due to driver and cabinet size alone, this looks like an apples and oranges comparison.

Yamaha HS7 has the most neutral sound and so far the best (budget) choice for audiophiles
Yamaha HS8 will always prevail over any Edifier's Product in terms of Accuracy, cause Edifiers are are mainly Hi-Fi -ish speakers and the Yamaha is mainly near-field studio monitor....
Other purpose of use.
Yamaha is more SPECIFIC.... as sound enginner, no question of which I perefer...it's obvious I think.... :-)

You are living in the past, and don't know about Edifier's full line up. Typical of people that underestimate China's current manufacturing capacity and technological capability. If you're an audio engineer then perhaps you should not waste time pointing out you're an audio engineer and instead into more useful things like the 360s being measured off axis for example, making it not the fairest of comparisons.
@@fhfc89 I don't underestimate Chinese technology and achievements at all.. especially they are frontiers at many human achivevements....
In our case now... I haven't seen any Edifier speakers at any pro studio either for recording or mixing purposes.... I 've seen Adam, Focal, Yamaha, Mckee and other big brand names of the industry....
P.S.: Not living in the past.... the present and the future is Chinese.... and my small speakers for my laptop are Edifiers... 🙂
Out of all speakers on this channel Yamaha HS8 is one of the best I have heard. This Edifier seems to have a really nice tweeter and lots of bass. Too much bass for my taste though, balance suffers.
You can adjust the bass levels you know....

@@gabsriel haa..maybe..studio monitors are designed to be flat so most people hear lots of middle on them. the h8 like most studio monitors are and sound flat and midrangy

Колонки с 8 дюймовым нч двух полосные играют все частоты в отличии от 360 у которой нет средины с наличием сч динамика)
так сч в 360 с подключённым сабом вообще кажется не играют. Ктото писал на форуме что они там нужны только для того что бы играть низы когда саб отключён )

Короче я включив даже на телефоне слышу разницу , как в 360 отсутствует звук электрогитары, тоже самое я слышал когда дали возможность в магазе включить с351 - верха есть низа есть средины _ не завезли...
И за это они хотят 350$ стыд и позор.

1:45 - играет нормально и правильно гитара ведь эта песня именно про гитару + тарелки, как только переход на 360 - гитара уходит куда то на 3 план выпячивается низ и верх! средина отодвигается на 3 план! чувство будто там кто то закрыл сч динамик

ну явный огромный провал на средине у 360.
я эту песню слышал на разных колонках! там играет электо гитара на переднем плане - ибо песня МАТАЛЛ!!!!!!!!!!!

Я вам открою секрет. Edifier s360db при подключении буфера отключает на колонках низы(режет) и из за этого страдает середина. Но стоит отключить буфер, перевести систему на 2.0 то сразу на колонках автоматически подключаются низы и колонки играют на уровне airpulse a80 (пс. Это фактически они и есть)))

@@back_to_life0 очень просто... От 40 Гц до 120 играет сабвуфер, а от 120 настроены сателлиты и объем из за этого середины теряется. При отключении "басовика" сателлиты начинают играть в полный объем возможностей по частотам. Лично тестил и это не теория)))

Edifier wins as you can lower or increase the bass if your concern is bass.

For the 1st battle, HS8 loose this time in my opinion, so closed but little bit flatter. If edifier may have less bass, it will be really good
The bass are adjustable bro.. And it also can bcome 2.0 speakers,cuz there are wireless sub,u Cam turn of the woofer n just use the bookshelf speaker
