I have been shopping for the new Ford maverick and now getting into xtrusion racks and overland stuff so found your channel. Awesome job! Great studio. And thanks for showing your process. It's everything I have been into and hope to get into more. Rooftop tent and camping more with my new maverick. . Your a awesome dude and really enjoying your channel.

Bro thanks! This video was made for a very small subset of my audience that is considering getting into overland content creation (hence the low views). But I chose to make it because I knew that it would’ve been helpful and interesting to me when I was getting started in this. Feels great hearing from someone that enjoyed seeing it! Thanks again.

Any plans on putting the podcast on other platforms. I use Iheart. No an apple guy. Lol

Good question. Let me do some research on that.

Love this video and your channel. Seriously how do you not have 1mm subs!
PSA on Raid 5. With these large drives there is a very high risk of another drive failing during the rebuild process when using SATA drives. . It’s recommend to use RAID 10 with SATA drives. You will loose some storage but the rebuild time can be cut down by a factor of 10.

Great advice man. I’ll look into that. Part of the reason I use carbon copy cloner is in case I lose 2 drives. But raid 10 may be wiser.

Nice setup. Thanks for the tour. I’ve always thought your editing was solid.
On a related note, how did you learn to edit, learn the software, figure out how to plan out shots and make shot lists, etc.? Having the tools to create audio:video is one thing. Knowing how to properly use them is another. I’d love to have an idea where to start just with my own personal videos of trips/vacations I take. This stuff would translate to just about any vacation or family trip, not just overlanding. Heck, probably even a trip to the museum.
Missed seeing you at Rigs & Coffee this morning, BTW. I’ve never introduced myself but will try to next time I see you.

Sorry I missed you at rigs dude. My son had a bathroom emergency so I split early. In terms of software I am 100% self-taught. I’ve watched a ton of UA-cam tutorials and done a lot of googling. My advice would be to just start. It’ll be bad in the beginning like all of us were. Start anyways. Find videos online that inspire you. Copy them until you get it down then try new things. Don’t just take inspiration from UA-cam content either. Watch movies, documentaries, cartoons… find the inspiration everywhere. Make bad art. Make better art. Have fun doing it. Don’t stop. Learn. Learn. Learn. That’s my advice.

Awesome video thanks for sharing your editing workflow. Would love to see a comparison video of how you started vs now. As an aspiring content creator I'm at the point where i want to invest in more gear but primarily use my phone and a gimbal, and would be interested in what you think made the biggest difference.

Great suggestion! I’ll consider doing a video like that. You definitely don’t need tons of gear to make good videos.
