@@potatoe4221 5 minutes of fuel just isn't enough, so if you want any kind of endurance you need to bring maxfuel, and the sea meteor's already-higher wing loading makes that a huge pain. I'd much rather take the normal meteor mk3.

It's really nice as a starter jet. I never knew just how easy it is to start flying it until I got other nations starter jets, 262s and Kikkas just do not fly like props at all, especially the Kikka. Though the Yak is quite easy to get use to, just need to remember you get no ammo.

Love the vids as always, In future videos if able could you run rounds with some kind of tracer, I like to see where you’re aiming in different scenarios so I can learn from it
Ik I’m 2 whole fucking years late, but in a different Meteor (the F13 is what I was in), the best thing you can do, is get it in a low speed rate fight. The F8 and F13, probably the F4 too, all have 2 things in common. A slower turn time, and much better engines. Having stupid turn time means nothing without energy, so, abuse said better engines, and get the F3 slow, you’ll have a better turn, because you have more energy. The F3 will smoke you’re ass in a scissor, rolling scissor, one circle, two circle, you name it. If it involves short, tight turns, you’re done. But sustained, your engines will carry you, and you will maintain a better turn rate. Now it most certainly isn’t fast, he started slightly on my six, and it took about 2 minutes to finally get him, but it did happen.
I didn't know it turns well when i first have it, playing it with the same tactics as the Me 262 and was confused at why is it so slow and breaks at such a low speed, i realized my mistake the moment i outturned/out maneuvered a sabre
Personally, I had a lot better of an experience with the longwing variant of the Meteor F Mk 4. The Sea Meteor's ripping characteristics are just not very forgiving. It's possible to redline the aircraft going 100% throttle on the deck and cause the aircraft to disintegrate, and making sharp turns at high speed, even below the redline speed, can shear the wing of the Sea Meteor right off. It still has a pretty good turn rate because it is still a Meteor, and the engines are damn good, but oftentimes you'll find yourself with all of the power in the world and none of the capability to use it. You won't be able to win extended chases with aircraft that are typically faster than the Meteor F Mk 3 because the Sea Meteor will hit its redline before it catches its opponent, and the turn rate is worse than the original Meteor F Mk 3. Also, the Meteor does get uptiered quite a bit, and the BR change from 7.3 to 7.7 on the Meteor F Mk 4 Longwing is mostly negligible. Sure, you won't face props much anymore, but you at least bring a more competitive aicraft into an uptier situation, as the Meteor F Mk 4 solves almost all of the issues with ripping that the Sea Meteor has.
@@thomasdu5440 thanks for the detailed reply. I went ahead with the mk 4. it still rips above 700 if you pull too much but its manageable. ive noticed quite a few uptiers to 8.7 but its always my team which wins anyways. honestly the meteor f mk3 should be 7.0, with the sea meteor and the mk 4 being 7.3
If the stock engine performance is anything like the vampire then you'll suffer. My recommendation is actually to go to ground rb, get enough points to spawn in and just hunt other aircraft for the rest of the game. You got a lot more dogfights and the pilots are generally less experienced, plus instead of constantly running away from you in faster planes most people go low and start trying to bomb/strafe. You can also go hunting for spaa and light tanks in between dogfights, its really profititable in terms of rp gain but risk getting popped by radar spaa if you don't know what you're doing. Still less rp overall than playing air but I find the overall flying experience to be generally more pleasant in ground battles.
I really need to go back to a lot of the original Brit planes, especially now they don't install rip in a turn and at red line. They are so much faster now
