Two trivia items I learned from old time radio: during WWII, you could no longer call the operator to get the correct time, and forecasts about the weather were prohibited--the newspapers would tell you what the weather was yesterday, but not what it would be today or tomorrow. Time and weather information could be used by spies, with weather information being especially valuable.
@@artmoss6889china has recently banned any non-government collecting weather information. One chap built a modest weather station for the tenants in his apartment building. He got into a lot of trouble.
