Great instructional video. Im fairly new to boating and am thinking about doing some accessorizing. Just been nervous to start adding holes. I hadn’t thought about using existing holes and piping. Hope you keep making these kinds of videos.
Thanks Paul, I'm currently building my boat from scratch and this was the best video I found. One thing I think I will do differently is try to find a hose connection through hull fitting under the water line so it will draw saltwater in open ocean, but when I get back to the boat ramp I can just connect a hose for fresh water wash down.
Thanks for the video man! How did you end up getting the T connector and shut off valve attached to the thru-hull fitting and the live well pump? I guess I’m not understanding how it all was pieces together.
Thank you Paul! best video explaining it on youtube! Just wondering can you run both pumps together or will they get choked? What's you take on a one way valve going from the intake to T joint? Thanks again
Hey Paul, I will be installing a wash down on my element F. I also have to replace my live well pump. How did you get to your live well pump area there. Did you do the work through that little port hole?
yes i work through the small access hole it can be a pain. to remove a live well pump you must disconnect the wires to the pump and simply screw it off.
Nice video Paul, I got the same pump; My only issue, my hull doesn't already have a through hull hole...fitting...whatever lol; SO I'm going to have to drill a hole for my intake. Question is, what cap/cover/strainer is that on your hull? I have a Brass one coming in, but I like the style of yours (with the screen insert).
I have a similar round access hatch I am considering replacing with a large rectangle TH Marine removable hatch. Have you considered this? Your gelcoat finish is nicer than mine so you might be a bit reluctant to cut.
Good idea, except I would use a Y coupler instead of a T to plumb in wash down along with the live well pump. If you run both pumps at the same time, one or both of them will be cavitating. I guess on the boat it may not happen that often, but got to size pump output GPM to the intake!!! It's a way out, but still not to plumb for professional use...
Hey man great, informative video! You explained it very well! Question, where did you get your entire kit? I'm looking for one that will last for my 19 ft Mako. Several on Amazon I've seen have mixed reviews. I understand all will have some negative reviews but I am just looking for one that is reliable and will survive the saltwater as long as possible. Any suggestions?
man, i just ordered the most pressure i could get on a washdown pump, saltwater is going to eat it up anyway. The one i have has lasted two years so far.
Hey, I noticed you have the same model tee top that I have, where did you get the rod holders or rocket holders on you tee top? What size are they and are you happy with them?
Thanks for the video! You seemed to be having fun with the intro! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Paul you gave me some good insight on when I install my washdown pump/freshwater tank on my pontoon boat. Awesome job!
I'm glad it helped someone out !

I have both on and I have no issues. The live well will not work at full speed.
@@251reeling9 Thanks you
How long takes prime pump is long way from water...
If you are on plain, you cannot use the pumps. Why wasn’t the thru hull put on the bottom?

Thank you so much 👍

yes they are common at west marine stores.

Yeah I feel ya man, more space would be nice.

that seems like a good idea I may change it out
Can you still pump water while on the move or does motor suck water away from the opening?
When on plain you can not pump, while idling you can.

Curious what did you use for sealing threads from pvc T to brass (sealing compound?) Also same question for pvc to pvc?
Liquid teflon and teflon tape on plastic to plastic
Looks like a 15amp supply to a 20amp fuse?
Cool 👍
Hey,

They are fishmaster brand!
Ok,thank you !
The torch overexposes the area you are trying to highlight on the transom
my bad dude, the cam picked up the shaded area very well
