This looks exciting.
The costumes appear well-done... However, there are some costumes in this video that are scandalously revealing, to a basic compass of modesty-it's much better to show respect for the body and for the variety of audiences that might like to see this content, by using a more modest standard. It would be really great if the costumes in question would be moderated.

To be fair, the Atlanteans could look however as they are a fictional race.
Personally I would have chosen a fantastical look. Like Darker tan skin with brightly colored eyes. Or maybe pale skin with odd color eyes like violet. That said, the actresses they chose as the two prominent Atlanteans are great actresses. You can tell they are professional and light hearted. Great casting choices.
@@MrSirFluffyI can agree with that. Darker skin and very ethereal and superior looking. But how it looks now looks pretty good nonetheless. Cant wait for the series!

Oh, my gosh, the Merlin fight scenes look SICK! Also glad to finally hear Taliesin sing--Taliesin as bard is such a big plot element. The song sounded absolutely beautiful.
I can't wait to see the Merlin fight scene in its full post-production glory. Even with all the stunt ropes hanging around, it looks amazing, so I bet the version we'll actually be seeing will be epic.

I hope this show succeeds so they can make a second season, and more. This is so much more than I could have hoped from the Daily Wire.

I read it when i first heard the plans for this show, the first three books are good, the next two are ok, but the last one is just a weird creative direction to take the series in.
I just finished the first one, it's amazin.
I tried reading like a sample version of the first book through Amazon not long ago just to see if I wanted to buy the books. All the hype that’s going into this makes me want to get them

The creativity and innovation in filling the gaps in the historical record like the creation and thought process behind the table setting and the bard song is fantastic. Attention to detail and not wokeness appears to be making all the difference in the world here. Bravo!

These Production Diaries are so lovely, just the authentic passion going into telling this story is so clear. From a crazed Arthurian fan, I deeply appreciate the effort and detail going into this! I just know this will be THE stand out Arthurian adaptation.

The books describe so well the "Awen" that comes upon Merlin when he is in battle. He is unstoppable.

To work with Jeremy Boreing seems a treat! His vision, talents and intensity is extreme and it’s difficult to wait for the series to start. The actors make the characters seem so real in a story I have been very attached to all my life.
Oh my gosh I am so glad you are doing the Bard songs! I love the stories through out the series as well as his other works. They are just such a different part than other novels I've read. It's so great that you are incorporating those!

I must admit - even this early back stage footages of the Merlin fight scene gave me chills. Wow. I just hope there won't be to much cuts in fight scenes - so many shows ruins choreography, stunts etc with butchering on the montage table with cuts every 2 seconds.
What stood out the most to me was the lack of green or blue screens. Glad to see a production try to use real sets and locations as much as possible.

You guys are ALL my heroes! I LOVED this book series when I discovered it back in the 90's and, so far, this production looks SO respectful of the story. CGI should be a tool, not a replacement (something the big studios failed to understand, turning it into a crutch) - I hope this production will only use it as an enhancement, to add a little _magic_ to all their hard work....

I'm loving what you guys are doing with the Atlanteans. So cool seeing the scenes I've just read in the book coming to life. Like the scene where Charus tells Morgain to back off of a Taliesin. Or when the Taliesin first comes to Avallach's court and sings, also where Charus first lays eyes on him. This show is going to rock.

I am legit so excited for this show. I can’t wait. Everything about it just looks and sounds so freaking cool.
The magic looks fantastic. It's not flashy or over-the-top, but it has a real sense of weight to it. It's powerful and visceral but it still feels grounded and real. I don't know which is better; Merlin lighting his enemies on fire by touching them or Merlin deciding that the battle isn't over 'til he says so and yanking the retreating soldiers back... This is going to be a great show.
YOU SAID, "The magic looks fantastic." MY OPINION... No it doesn't it looks cheap and silly. I have seen better special effects on TV, like Charmed, and Hercules starring Kevin Sorbo.

And most of them don't know anything about it. I find it childish when the muggles talk about magic, and act like they know something about it, and use movies or TV or a streaming service production, as their claim they know something about magic, that shows they do not have a clue about magic, and many muggles look at it, and think "That Is What Magic Is or Was In the Middle Ages", and it is not magic, and it is not even good story book magic.
Try to be in a business where production and TV and movies, insult your craft and your art, and the public, and then try to hide behind - It is an adaptation of a fantasy book series as an excuse for bad research and bad historical writing and use this lame excuse.

Looks magical - beautiful
the books are very good, esp for teenage reader, though its enough good for adult too. the depiction of Atlantis is realy cool :) It was based on Crete (at Minoan age 3.500 years ago) with rituals with white bulls sacrifices and athletes jumping over bulls to pray to gods and to prove their bravery. This thing is actualy shown on Minoans frescos. Crete is most probable historical prototype of the legendary Atlantis with its about 30 common similarities between them - including big trade fleet, trade of wine, mild climate, hot springs in caves used as baths, and cities with stone pavements and 3 stores buildings with fountains and sewage system.

I would buy it! We are trying to move away from streaming services and build our DVD collection again. Would love to add some of their kids' shows and awesome movies/tv to our collection!

I read these as a kid, and have loved everything Lawhead has written since. It has been a hope of mine to see Lawhead's version told. So incredibly pumped for this!

They're right, I've never seen a Merlin like this before. It's amazing how they brought the character from the Lawhead book to life. The actor looks incredible in that fur-lined cloak wielding a sword. You can believe he's a capable young warrior mentored in the wilderness. But he's not a bloodthirsty brute; Merlin has inherited finesse from his parents, a divine-inspired bard and ethereal princess, so he can tap into that raw energy when needed and channel it accordingly.
Can't wait for this, Lawhead writes great stuff.

I read these books decades
ago, and always wondered why they hadn't made them into movies! Lawhead wrote such richly expansive scenes that fill your mind as though you were there. I can't wait to see the movies!❤
