Saw the movie yesterday and it was funny as hell! So glad that they ended up doing it. There were a few scenes in particular that made me laugh so hard. The entire theater erupted with laughter.
Not sure why people are hating on the movie. Maybe because today's comedy isn't what it was 20 years ago? Maybe because Jim Carrey is considered "old and done"? But it's basically a well done extension of the original Dumb and Dumber movie, so if you liked that movie, you should love this one.

All of Jeremy's thumbnails seem to capture an expression of his during the review that embodies a summary of his thoughts on the topic. I feel like for this one he was going through in editing looking for said expression and found a derp face instead, laughed to himself, and decided to roll with it. I like it.

@hh7777 don’t worry, I liked it too. Not as good as the first one, but DEFINITELY didn’t deserve the reception it got. Best thing I can say about the movie is that it really did feel like it was made by people who were also fans of the original movie, with all the references and call backs. While it wasn’t as good as that original, it still gave me a good amount of laughs.

Lloyd & Harry stop at a diner in the last scene, there's a jar of peanuts on the table for them to snack on while they wait for their food, Lloyd challenges Harry to the funnel peanut game, harry makes 2 in a row & when the third one is on his nose, lloyd smacks him to slow him down, the peanut goes flying & hits a guy. The guy stands up & it's SeaBass & he says" WHOS THE DEAD MAN THAT HIT ME WITH A PEANUT" & then his friend stands up & says "KICK HIS ASS SEABASS"
Credits roll in.

A few people walked out too within 30-45 minutes into it. I guess we had major expectations. I stayed throughout the movie but after it ended a lot of grunts and sighs and a few “that....was bad” comments I heard walking in the isles

Third act of The Worlds End had me rollin'.
I've just watched this film and I went in with extremely low expectations. It's like they say, you can't expect to enjoy it if you go in with that attitude. It always annoys me when people say that. They have obviously never been pleasantly surprised (or disappointed if you're expecting too much). I laughed my arse off at this film. Some really funny/immature jokes that are still making me laugh now as I write this. Like licking Lloyd's fingers after they both did you-know-what with them. Usually I would not enjoy that but this was just so ridiculous that I couldn't help but laugh. I feel bad about this, but I enjoyed it.
C Chadwick you shouldn’t feel bad expressing your opinion man. That’s what I love about movies is that you can have differing opinions sure but you can like what you wanna like and you don’t have to care what anyone else thinkings about.
Can't wait to see it. I loved the first one, and I remember watching the animated series a lot when I was a kid. It's gonna be nostalgic for me too, I guess.

I think this might be the first time I've seen a positive review for this movie.
Personally, I thought it was good. Not great, but good enough. Definitely not that "Dumber and Dumberer" garbage.
I had a great time w/ this movie. I took my 15 yr old son to this as I was 15 when the first one came out. It was a great movie. They did rehash some jokes but they knew they were doing it. You could tell because they would use the same music cues from the first movie. This movie was meant to be nostalgic. I loved it. Oh and dont forget to stay thru to see the end credit scene.

You and almost everyone else. Even the actors were probably happy to cash the paycheck and then act like it never happened. Which is to their credit since that acting would be better than what was displayed in the film.

Because Dumber To was way more immature, disgusting and less clever than the original. It's as if Trevor from GTAV wrote and directed it.
I had no idea where the plot was going throughout the whole thing. It kept me guessing. Congrats Dumb & Dumber To!
Finally just saw this and I loved it, and I was a teenager (almost) when the first came out so I hold it with fond memories.
But this, while not as classic as the first, and maybe not as memorable, was definitely funnier.
And it takes A LOT to get me to laugh at a movie.
And yeah, the fart jokes worked.
Especially the cat eating the birds one.
I thought the daughter, while unbelievably gorgeous, was a good match also, because she was oddly obnoxious like them, without feeling forceful...like she was having actual fun with the role.
Definitely a fabulous comedy and a true sequel to the first movie, unlike the god awful Dumb & Dumberer "sequel".
A perfect blend of dark comedy, fun, immaturity, light heartedness, SMART low brow humor and classic Jim Carrey.
They also managed to avoid a cardinal sin (im my opinion) in most comedy movies this day in age, where it's an overly happy ending/sappy moment.
They managed to keep the momentum flowing through the entire movie rather well, while mixing proper elements of movies like this by sprinkling in moments where you want to sit down and finish it to see how certain things pan out.
As just like with the briefcase, which was smart as it kept you wondering, they manage this smart but simple trick all over again.
Good review, good movie.
Old school Carrey fans will not be disappointed, as long as you don't go into the movie with unrealistic expectations!

The Naked Gun had a great third act. Horrible Bosses did as well (to my recollection). That's the comedy sequel I'm looking forward to this year.

I'm kind of hating the fact that Jim Carrey's new stuff is having the same effect on me as Adam Sandler's new stuff. Adam Sandler was big in the 80's and 90's but now he is doing the family friendly movies (while every once in a while trying to re-capture that 80's and 90's magic but failing.) I don't like that Jim Carrey is on a simular path

God, this was an even greater disappointment than Episode VII..
Like many, Dumb & Dumber is one of my favorite comedies of all time.. I knew going into this sequel that it wasn't going to be as funny as the original, but it definitely was as great as it was meant to be... if that makes any sense. Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels- AMAZING comic chops, still killing it 20 years later! My Father and I saw this together and afterwards we both agreed- that was well worth our money.

In other words, that was 100% real body paint there.

I wish everyone in the theater my brother and I went to saw your review first. There were at least eight guys getting drunk, two of them texting when the movie started, and one guy who kept dropping his empty beer bottles. Ironically, the cashier told us that she had a bad experience when she saw the original 'Dumb and Dumber', and we had a bad experience seeing the sequel.

Ok now if we could get Jeremy and Nostalgia Critic together for a review just saying. A joke they could run into is Nostalgia Critic continuing after the 4 minute mark and Jeremy being..."Um, were supposed to be done now?" and Nostalgia Critc just gives him a "What da fuq?" look
I could not agree MORE with your review. It wasn't trying too hard to be funny and the best part is that it felt like they did the original only a handful of years ago, not 20! The comedy is witty and clever, I loved the fart joke where Jim says "hey Harry, looks like he sniffed some crack" that had me in tears. 9/10 would see again
Movie doesn't skip a beat even after 20 years. I was worried that it was gonna be the American pie situation where it doesn't live up to the predecessor but it was even better. A lot of funny scenes were not in the trailer. The jokes are well delivered so it doesn't seem expected or forced. Like the 2nd most annoying noise in the world doorbell scene was a perfect example. If you loved the first dumb and dumber you are going to crack up with this one. It kicks it up a couple of notches. Same formula but better jokes and scenes.
Now all we need is The Mask 2 WITH Jim Carrey!
