In all honesty, I think that your tutorials are getting better and better all the time. :) Well worth the wait!

Michael, I'm learning much faster by watching his classes than if I were taking regular music school lessons.
In 2 days I already learned to play 3 songs without having to resort to sheet music or tabs.
Congratulations on the initiative and success always

Thx. I have the exact same pickups and sustainer in my guitar. The neck pickup is the sustainer driver. It works as a neck pup when the driver is off, but it's not a great pickup, so I doubt he would use it. Also the neck pup would give you a very woody, jazz tone. I got what I think is the right tone with the bridge pup. If Edge plays with the sustainer on the entire song, then there is no way to use the neck pup because the neck pup acts as a magnetic driver.

Yes, they are amazing and noiseless. But expensive. Get what you pay for. Here is what you do: buy a Woodstock normal set and then also buy the Plus bridge pup separately. Then buy one of Kinman's harnesses (solderless). You can switch bridge pups anytime quickly. Perfect solution for you. The plus is a hotter bridge pup. See Kinman website.

The thing with the humbuckers...Edge played Ultraviolet on an Explorer during the ZooTV

    Michael,
as a substitute for the hot rail pickups, how would you say the explorer pups sounds for this tune?
    thanks-
    Kevin from Massachusetts

I would not recommend them on a Strat unless you are playing many tunes that require that particular tone. You will definitely use quack and it will be too hot for many songs. If you play a lot of U2, then perhaps buy an Epi LP or something less expensive. The guitar/pups are important in U2 songs if you are looking to get the tone close to Edge's. So you really need at least a Strat, LP and Explorer. Epi Explorer is other way to go. Only $500.

I even think you can get pretty close with a telecaster if you cut the treble, mine has quite a hot bridge pup and it's not far away?

I actually use a Jazzmaster for this. Sounds good :)

It's hard to appreciate the difference between the single coil and the Hot Rails as you played the former with the microphone turned off and the Hot Rails with the mic turned on.

That will work just fine. He used the Explorer on this song on the ZooTV tour. See my cover with the Explorer later in the tutorial series.
