Clipper Round the World fleet arrive in Portsmouth.

The Clipper Round the World Race boats finish back to Portsmouth on Saturday 27th July 2024. I managed to video them assembling outside the harbour and also the procession into Portsmouth Harbour, led by a Cross Channel Ferry and Tugs with the Fire Hydrant Fountain welcome.
Dean and Deb of Winging It fame supplied me with behind the scenes photos as they were volunteer helpers on the day and I have crafted them into a montage to give a taste of the experience of this colourful and exciting event.
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston was there, onboard his round the world yacht, Suhaili and hundreds of family, followers and general public turned up to see the spectacle of these powerful 70 ft sailing yachts that have sailed around the world, with amateur crews during the last year.

Thanks Mark, it wasn't a planned video. Just a case of being in the right place at the right time. Dean and Deb's photos made it worthwhile. There wasn't enough without them. And yes the weather gods pulled out all the stops. Really nice weekend.. cheers.. Dave

Yes it was very pleasant, we followed that by a lovely sail to Chichester. I'm working on the video at the moment.
