That offside trap is what moved me 12 times and I dont think people realize how high risk and how difficult it is to execute an offside trap, gameplan executed to absolute perfection
the level of coldness and concentration you need to perform that trap consistently, time after time, without any mistakes is very underappreciated. this is really a work of art
Especially with the defender choices we have right now. To run something like that, araujo is needed because his pace and his aggression. It’s so incredible how inigo has been as well so many people counted him out
The offside trap is the perfect strategy as we now have VAR. Before we had to rely on the lineman eye . Now forwards has to be perfect which is impossible . If their toe is offside its offside
Exactly and not even cause of VAR but because of this brand new offside technology as well. Back in the day with no VAR we played possession football and kept a compact defence with Guardiola and the rest, now Flick is doing this. Football evolved and we are evolving with it 🎉
And it's only half automatically, just imagine the development in the upcoming years where we get a complete camera system tracking every player perfectly.
Raqphinha has been having great numbers prior to Flick arriving to Barcelona. In fact, I remember he scored SIX (6) goals against PSG in Champion's League. One has tobe careful about not falling into the Madridista narratives, distributed through their Mainstream Media acolades such as ESPN, Movistar Plus, Sky, etc.
@@DbbrainerTrue, it was Xavi who decided to play Raphinha more centrally from the left and keep Yamal on the right. Who destroyed Barca in 2020??? For what what I can remember is Bayern coached by flick And how the hell did flick revenge on himself The match was not between Barca and Bayern but between Barca and Madrid Your post sounds cool but makes zero sense
The biggest difference maker was the coaches. Ancelotti just throwing big names in the pitch, bad tactical substitutions. Meanwhile Flick reacted by introducing FDJ at breaktime instead of Fermin (genius move) and introducing Dani Olmo - that secured the midfield. Tactical mastery display by Flick, zero understanding of what happened on the pitch by Ancelotti.
Bad tactical substitution modric nearly assisted one and scored one just after a few mins when he was subbed on 😂 it's just that flick delivered it in absolute perfection
it was one of those fine margin games. I think if RM had taken the lead they might have repeatedly hit Barça on the break and it could have been 4-0 the other way. Obviously they didn't, because Barça executed the offside trap perfectly and the gk played really well, but on another day, with the same tactics from both, it could have gone the other way. The visitors just executed the plan better this time.
Tactically, Flick gets at the very least a 9. The substitution made at half time by Flick in the form of Frenkie De Jong was a masterstroke. And then Olmo. The offside trap was executed to perfection. And those rare times when we didn't catch VINI or MBAPPE offside and they were on the run, come on. They are Vini and Mbappe, for god's sake. More than Mbappe's bad finishing, the credit should be given to Inaki Pena. My man brought his A-game to the most important match. RESPECT. Made amazing saves from Mbappe and Valverde and also cleared the ball at the right time. Analyse better. VISCA EL BARCA ❤💙
jude, vini, mbappe shanked multiple wide open chances. unlucky. replay would yield different result. maybe mbappe learns his lesson about being on sides. if rodrygo plays instead of mbappe, madrid win this game 3-2
@@vitaminamultiso we talk injurys, lets talk injury. Barca misses araujo, christensen, bernal, torres and more. Aswell as gavi, olmo and de jong isnt ready to start the games yet. You cant say if we had that or if we were lucky we win. You got the players you got, and rules are rules. When a single player is offside 8 times in a game, he is not unlucky. He had 90 min to adjust in that game but didnt. Meanwhile the entire barca team played to win from the begining and executed it oerfectly.
@@vitaminamulti It doesn't matter if they shanked those chances. More than half of the time they were offside anyway. They had no answer to it. And if we are to consider their missed chances, then let's not forget Barca's missed chances which are more than Madrid's by the way. Barca would have easily won 6-0 or 7-0 IF NOT MORE. Yeah replace Mbappe with rodrygo. Barca still wins by a landslide. Just take the L fam. 💙♥️
7.5 for Flick? in Bernabeu, with a 4-0 victory? Are you OK? or maybe you are a little biased? Ancelotti completely missed the tactics while having the best attackers in Vini and Mbappe (speed, finishing, dribbling). He also missed the subs. Yet he gets a 5.5. Flick should get atleast a 8.5 (what must he do to get a 10?? win by 10-0 with a brace scored by him) Ancelotti should get at most 5, personally i would give him a 4.
Personal opinions are always welcome I feel and as a Madrid fan, this tactical video in itself is more depressing then the game 😢 Flick on most of the part didn't have to do much because Ancelotti played into his tactics easily and I knew this is going to happen 😢 Ancelotti didn't deserve the 5.5 but Flick didn't out master because it was not a battle as such to prove his managerial ability
@@hasnnnmir I would not say the same! I guess Ancelotti was just out mastered in one game. Dominating the Don tactically is very rare and this was one of those occasions
The greatest thing about Flick is how he knows what his players are best and bad at, that's exactly why Bayern lost to them, Flick knew them too much, and as for Madrid, he used his team the best
Madrid were defeated psychologically because they had to worry about that offside trap all the time that they couldn’t focus on playing free flowing football. All while Barcelona were playing free flowing football! 😂😂😂 it was quite funny.
Hanzi Flick turned this boys into real german monsters, performing every action in the most cold and bold manner. and he mixedthat with the spainards elegance and playmaking genius. This Barca is something else
@iLaeyes Football keeps changing, managers have learnt what they need to do against a tiki taka team, that's why even Guardiola gave up on heavy possession game and you can see Man City playing direct football
@@PalestinianVictory96 thats bullshit. City playing direct football because off Haaland. Haaland is not a tiki taka player. The team with Messi/Iniesta en Xavi will destroy this team any day.
At this point I'm convinced that Mbappe is legally blind, how on Earth can "best player in the world" be caught on a 1,5 meter offside more than once per game?
Hes not in sync with the team yet.. though ball means its not the runners fault alone.. the passer should also knoe when to release.. theres no phone to call the passer when to start running.. im sure he will adapt..but his ego will distrupt the team
I’m a Barca fan but Bayern were just better in general, they knew how to play through high line , gnabry and olise came back from offside positions quickly so did Kane . They pressed better then Madrid
Doesn’t matter tbh, because Bayern were much better (by a huge margin). I mean let’s just compare the offsides alone despite Bayern playing a high line too. 3 offsides compared to Madrid’s 12
Flick's offside game plan was so impressive. Mbappe being caught offsides that many times is insane. Love seeing how Flick is transforming this Barca side, and elevating his players like Raphinha. It's amazing
if it was rodryo instead of mbapp,e madrid score 3 goals. mbappe has lwo football iq - this is why his idol is ronaldo, not messi. you see yamal as coutner point. mbappe and ronnie have no football intelligence
I would give an 8.5 or even 9, honestly. And that is for what Flick has done to the club for the season so far, the reformulation, change in mindset, not only tactics, but even changes in the locker room and mentality. BTW I'm Madridista, but I like seeing Barca back to being a threat, you can only be as strong as your greatest rival.
Ancelotti was lazy to the extent that, Barcas tactics was clear right from the word go. But failed to captilise on that. Blame has to go to VInicius, Kylian, Mendy and Militao for the loss.
Barca demolished Bayern and Real Madrid with 4 goals in the same week...prime Barca vibes. Lamine keeps making history at such a young age, Lewandowski can't stop scoring, and Raphinha yet again goal and assist. Lewa has more goals than Mbappe,Vinicius and Bellingham COMBINED this season, and Raphinha is just 1 assist away from becoming the first player in top 5 leagues to hit double digit goals (already has 10) AND double digit assists (has 9) this season. Lamine already surpassed his last season's goal contributions and just became the youngest goal scorer in El Classico history. And the crazy part? U have to give so much praise to guys like Pedri,Casado and even Frenkie who is finally happy. Gavi is back with a vengeance and Olmo's impact is UNBELIEVABLE,he transforms this team to a new level every game. Not to mention that incredible back 4 of Kounde,Cubarsi,Inigo Martinez and Balde, who not only pull off this high line so impressively but also contribute a lot to the attack. Just an overall beautiful week for Barca fans. ❤💙

@@akhsdenlew1861 it wasn't midfield passing.. it was the lack of finishing... jude 2x, mbappe 3x, vini 2x, etc etc. if rodrygo plays instead of mbappe, madrid win 4-2
@vitaminamulti Nonsense. Rodrygo is nowhere near the speed of Mbappe. Also if you ever played at high level you'd know Mbappe being ONside would make him be in a very different position to defenders than he was being offside and the goals would not have been certain.
Bro said Barca tactically was not as great but Barca could have easily made it 6-0 if Lewy or Yamal took their chances. Flick asks his opposition to play football at top of their game. And neither Bayern or Madrid did it. Flick knows Barca will concede but he wants to outscore his opposition. Not to forget his offside trap that helps defensively.
Beautiful analysis , I’ve said a while ago that Madrid don’t press nor do they know to beat barcas offside trap , there is also a element of Mbappe having zero offside awareness either . It’s pure insanity for a team like Madrid that has a 500m plus front line not even being in a position to score one goal is ridiculous , totally unacceptable and what’s happened to Bellingham .
The main issue for me is that Mbappe is used as a deep 9 but he's too often walking on Vinicius and dragging the whole game on the left. Bellingham is a midfielder but as Kroos, he's rubbish to defend. However he's absolutely great to keep hold of the ball. That's why false 9 suits him best in this team because he could play as a pivot/#10 and drag the game up and more central

Man we have been awful from the start of the season. We had so many bad performances but neither some player nor ancelloti woke up. We were poor against a las palmas, we just dragged to win win against teams. We lost against Lille in cl yet there was no improvement in performances. This season only Valverde, Vini, Courtois primarliy have carried us. We are poor in defense, any team can literally run straight through our defence and score. As a Madridista it pains me to see that we are in October and still we play this horrendus football. We have talents like Guler and Endrick who can very well sort out our creativity and finishing problem but no they are being wasted on bench. It is truly hurting to see that on paper we have one of the best teams but negligence of manager and some players is absolutely ruining our season. I hope some strict changes takes place, otherwise only miracle can save us.
what's even worse is Real Madrid play the worst pressing and defending I've seen so far. First of all, 1:21 I mean wtf was Vini thinking!? 😡Why pressing opponent straight head on like that!?? 1:33 No wonder Barca utter easily pass to midfield then slice open Real Madrid at will throughout the whole game🤦♂🤦♂because of Vini's utter stupid pressing found himself in no man's land and Mbappe non-existent when already knew Real Madrid already 2v3 down in center midfield. This is Real Madrid asking for disaster
Yes because Ancelotti was the one getting caught offside right. He's plan had flaws yes but it was poorly executed by his players. You can't say he had 0 tactics. Mbappe times his runs better and it's a different conversation. Can't blame everything on the manager that's unfair.
Real had their first chance in the 2 nd minute of the game . That should have been 1 up. And in the first half real had lots of chances if they had scored first maybe barca would have trembled under pressure. And gave much more positivity among Real Madrid so they might have won the game. If there is another game between Real Madrid and barca maybe on a different day the game would have been the other way.
Disagree… flick deserve 9 I think. He has completely reformed Barca's way of playing and is now one of the best teams in the world once again! The high line is something that they need to keep getting better, especially as teams begin to find ways of exploiting it… but we can’t call it luck. It is pure preparation and training. It has lead to the dismantling of 2 big teams this season so far. And Barca’s players are playing with so much more creative freedom then previous years! Let’s hope Barca can keep this upward tragetory, the season is long!

It was a great game plan by Hansi Flick and he deserves more than 7.5 tactical score. The highline has been very impressive so far and it does it's work to perfection. Hansi Flick deserves all the credit for his game plan. It is always nice to see your tactical analysis of the match.
I've always said that Mbappe is overrated. Aside from his lightning speed, he is not a very smart guy and his finishing in 1v1's with the 'keeper has always been balls being hit straight to the 'keeper. With that risky high line that Barca ran, Real could have finished us halfway through the first half if Mbappe had a brain.
Actually i can see why carlo placed jude on the right as it does give him space to attack especially with vini as the progressive carrier on the left with mbappe often drifting to the left to combine and overload that area to tee up jude.
I think flick deserved more credit specially after de jong was subbed in, most of the pressing flaws you mentioned were in the first half, and REMEMBER he is facing the best team in the world
Madrid has to recruit someone as same caliber as of Toni Kroos in midfield cuz he was the perfect player to break these lines as what he did against Bayern in Munich for Vini Goal. BUT still it's absolute amazing the way Flick gets such massive results with such high risk football with academy players!!👏👏
I miss your original voice overs, not sure why it sounds so different these days. Great content. Flick turning Barca into prime 2020 Bayern... respect!
DeJong's entrance in the second half really made a hell of a difference. Fermin, even though really good, was way too emotional at times in the first half. But then when Olmo entered, FCB literally toyed with them. Also, Cubarsi is amazing, but has room for improvement defensively. It is good that he is paired with Inigo to gain experience and learn next to Inigo. Finally, I am really wondering what would happen when Araujo will come back. Araujo is arguably one of the best 1v1 in the world, and one of the best CB in terms of aerial play. But from what I have seen with Araujo under Xavi is that he has a terrible reading of the game, can't play long balls at all, and is not so comfortable with the ball at his feet. I really don't think Araujo has the football IQ to play those high lines. Maybe FCB should cash in on him and keep Christensen, who is also versatile.
Araujo is a generational talent when it comes to defence, did you forget what he has done for barca this past years with a shitty defence? Flick will make him even smarter than he is, even though he is very inteligent. And the pace and agression on that man, is a thing we gonna need dearly, since he can push be the CB that pushes the ball with fury as the medfield and attack is oversatured with oppenents, and create lines, due to his speed, not forgeting dude can also dribble well for a cb given he has played as a RB and pocketed Vini hella times. How you can say he should be sold is beyond me.
@@akilbarboni4198 you are entitled to your opinion obviously. but to say that Araujo is intelligent is beyond me. And also "Araujo dribbling ..." LOL. Do you even know what dribbles mean? It's the percentage of success on 1 vs 1 against a defender. Neymar can dribble. Messi can dribble. But Cubarsi and Inigo are very good at dictating plays from the back. Araujo can't. Regardless, I forgive you for your football ignorance. Probably still 14-16 years old too? LOL "Araujo can dribble" LOL
They'll get caught, give it time. I don't trust such systems. Yes mbappe got caught numerous times, but will that happen every time against every opponent? I doubt, that's why I can't consider them favourites in the UCL. They beat Bayern coached by Kompany.
Great example of teamwork from Barca. The defense in sync. The midfield ready to support the defense and assist in playmaking and transitions. And the forwards on fire.
8:29 "This pressing shape is a thing that Flick might have to address as the season goes on." This is just my opinion, but i think he wouldn't do much to change the press unless his players are injured. His strategy seems to be around the impression of 'you can score 2, we'll just score 3'. It was designed to be high-scoring and risky. I remember that Bayern fans used to complain about their defence being leaky under Flick as well. His bold approach to the game may have a great effect to the players, though. In the Bayern match, i saw that younger players like Pedri and Casado step up. Raphinha was playing like a man possessed. Barca is regrowing their lost vigor that i've last seen under Enrique.
This is why i hate the 442 formation. Its so easy to exploit and crack open the midfield. Whether it be at professional level or amateur level, just a standard 442 is almost guaranteed to cause problems.
To beat the offside trap, they needed a KdB that can flick the ball in the right spot with one touch. Kroos used to do that. That way the ball would have been sent earlier than Mbappe's start. Every ball to Mbappe had two touched too many.
All of reals midfield is more than capable of producing good long balls, it's anchelotti's bad tactics and mbappes low football iq that cost them the game...
Yeah as a Real Madrid fan this new Barcelona playing style is scary... Madrid need better centerbacks and rb bc we can't count on Carvajal due to his injury. Lucas is okay however he is not the best when it comes to being the rb. Madrid need to sell Mbappe as well people thought this guy would outshine Vini. However, Mbappe is the shadow of Vini + Jude is doing horrible he needs to play back as a CFW.. Awesome video as always. Much Love!!! ❤
Sure Real Madrid lost but it was not a bad from a gameplay perspective, I think for the first time Mbappe got chances in counter attack and felt more like a forward. Real Madrid defense was broken thanks to the way Barça was playing, even though Real lost it feels like the result could have been different in some other day. Barça fans are very happy with the result and they truly deserve it, but it was so nice seeing a profound analysis of the game which shows that the result did not full reflect what was happening in the field
If Mbappe took his chances, it would have been a different game. Modric should have started and we might need an upgrade om Camavinga If Rodrygo wasn't injured, he should have started ahead of Mbappe. Also Vini and Mbappe need to learn how to press because every top team's forwards press
Video fundamentally flawed from the start. Granted vinis pressed wrong but Mbappe is responsible for his midfield Lane... Mapped was walking and never once scanned behind to see .
Yes. H3 made so much lapses with the analysis. For instance it was mendy that played lewa on not vasquez. Also barca highline was very effective and madrid never really exploited it. Even if mbappe scored his chances that was not enough to win this. The entry of de Jong was not highlighted. It looks to me like he is bias
Appreciation for the barca backline. The perfect execution of offside trap against the likes of rm and bayern is perfect example of their awareness and intellect. I'm a little concerned if this can be executed as well with araujo. Not that he is stupid but physical attributes are a major part of his game. Hope flick can unlock that part of araujo as well to make him a well rounded beast
Man the offside trap is a piece of art when executed perfectly like Barca have done. It needs the highest levels of concentration, telepathic like communication between defenders and a high iq to know exactly when to release the trap. And with VAR no offside can be missed.(this technology is such a relief together with goal line)

3 incredible things - 1) how brave football Barca now is playing off and on the ball / 2) how Barca young players adopted so quickly to this brave football ; 3) Hansi Flick … how this man managed to immerse brave style of play to this Barca team (yet immature) within such short period of time ? - is incredible to witness . No me I have watched Madrid games and usually they may not score in the first half but the come back at second half is terrible... That's them always. See it with Dortmund but this one was different
The substitution made by Flick at half time was the master stroke, as for the the near perfect upside track tactics, that was also a master stroke remember madrid themselves tried and paid dearly for it with the first goal
Yamal's quietest in a long time. That's how good the teenager is. Created so many chances and even scored a goal, but it was nowhere near his best game. Barcelona ❤💙 is no ordinary team with those young players.
As a Madrid fan I believe Barcelona did a masterclass game in its tactics and specially attitude. I envy how they kept pressing after 2-0, 3-0, and specially 4-0. Madrid has lacked that attitude this whole season Despite that, I believe people are overreacting to the offside trap. It will be interesting to see how real madrid and other teams, in particular during champions league, adapt to the offside trap on the second half of the season. It's a tactic that Barcelona has exploited very well but it doesn't stops being extremely risky I hope Barcelona keeps strong so we can have clasicos from high quality. Also, lets hope Mbappe learns A LOT from this match. In many of the offsides he could have won the position if he was behind the defensive line, but he needs to be smarter on the field
Kind of agree, I gave Flick 8.5. Both coach do a high-stakes gamble, it can go either way TACTICALLY. The main difference on that game was the players EXECUTIONS, so credit is supposed to be more to Barca players. One masterstroke from Flick was the introduction of De Jong at half-time, which make Barca have total domination of the game in the second half.

Meanwhile Flick reacted by introducing FDJ at breaktime instead of Fermin (genius move) and introducing Dani Olmo - that secured the midfield. Tactical mastery display by Flick, zero understanding of what happened on the pitch by Ancelotti.

it was one of those fine margin games.
RESPECT. Bellingham forgot he is primarily a midfielder, he got used to playing number 9
The main issue for me is that Mbappe is used as a deep 9 but he's too often walking on Vinicius and dragging the whole game on the left. Bellingham is a midfielder but as Kroos, he's rubbish to defend. However he's absolutely great to keep hold of the ball.
"This pressing shape is a thing that Flick might have to address as the season goes on."
This is just my opinion, but i think he wouldn't do much to change the press unless his players are injured.

And Manchester United wants to give Ten Haag more time. Coaches do matter you know. Just look at Barcelona after Xavi. Same squad, same players. Yet giving results. He hasn’t asked to sign anyone from Bayern 😂
Even Xavi had a more lasting impact than Ten Hag in a shorter time
@@opinionatortv6457 At least Xavi laid almost all the foundations for this Barcelona, the conversion of Kunde to full-back, the use of Raphinha as a false left winger, the promotion of Lamine, Cubarsi, Casado, Balde, Fermin and also with Xavi in some match it was shown that he tried to implement the offside trap, for example against Napoli.
Was waiting on this one as soon as the game was over🔥🔥
Flick buried Madrid at the Bernabeu 4-0 but only gets a 7.5?
Seriously?
He is a Madrid fan
Yeah. Its ridiculous.
Best Manager since Pep .
I get it all now.
Zidane: pass to ronaldo
Flick : run raph🥶(how the hell did bro became so good)
He is playing his natural game under Hansi Flick. When everyone in Barcelona were doubting on his potential and there were even rumours that Nico is going to substitute him, it was a shambolic moment for him.
Hansi Flick improved the work rate of every player, improved their mentality to a menacing level and their intensity has also increased immensely.
That high line alone deserve a 10. Doing against the best team in Europe "successfully" that's another 10. Doing it 12 times... That's another 20.
Madrid could have won this but too many missed chances in the first half cost them
True!
wtf from where you were watching the match
@@FootballMadeSimple yeah you are a madrid fan i knew
No me I have watched Madrid games and usually they may not score in the first half but the come back at second half is terrible... That's them always. See it with Dortmund but this one was different
In fact if mbappes goal was counted I was relaxed cause I knew it will give barca a reason to score goals now....
Good to see Barca back. 4 goals to Bayern and Madrid in 4 days is unheard of. Flick will bring UCL before he leaves.
I think he will stay at Barcelona for many years to come
Imagine being a real Madrid fan and you have to look at a 17 year old kid pointing at his braces when he scores on you
The substitution made by Flick at half time was the master stroke, as for the the near perfect upside track tactics, that was also a master stroke remember madrid themselves tried and paid dearly for it with the first goal
Yamal's quietest in a long time. That's how good the teenager is. Created so many chances and even scored a goal, but it was nowhere near his best game. Barcelona ❤💙 is no ordinary team with those young players.
Have been waiting since the match ended. Man Flick has no fear who he is up against he just wants to spread fear to other teams.
Hansi Flick Barcelona it's like Freddy Krueger when he his in his self made Story
Mbappe shouldve come off at the half with the effort he was putting in and the fact he was living off sides
As a Madrid fan I believe Barcelona did a masterclass game in its tactics and specially attitude. I envy how they kept pressing after 2-0, 3-0, and specially 4-0. Madrid has lacked that attitude this whole season
Despite that, I believe people are overreacting to the offside trap. It will be interesting to see how real madrid and other teams, in particular during champions league, adapt to the offside trap on the second half of the season. It's a tactic that Barcelona has exploited very well but it doesn't stops being extremely risky
I hope Barcelona keeps strong so we can have clasicos from high quality. Also, lets hope Mbappe learns A LOT from this match. In many of the offsides he could have won the position if he was behind the defensive line, but he needs to be smarter on the field
Inaki Pena deserves his flowers for those saves for when Mbappe WAS onside
Kind of agree, I gave Flick 8.5. Both coach do a high-stakes gamble, it can go either way TACTICALLY. The main difference on that game was the players EXECUTIONS, so credit is supposed to be more to Barca players. One masterstroke from Flick was the introduction of De Jong at half-time, which make Barca have total domination of the game in the second half.
