Poirier's resume is insane. Wins over Holloway twice, Gaethje, Pettis, Mcgregor, Alvarez (basically twice), Hooker, Diego Fierrea and others. Clearly second greatest lightweight of all time imo. Please put some respect on this man's name. So many people underestimated him last time.
@@artiew8718 Before the fight got stopped for the illegal move, Poirier had out struck Alvarez in both rounds. You can't say Alvarez won based on an illegal move lol. Poirier wasn't expecting it or defending himself from that position.
Dustin is my favorite fighrer! Outside the cage he has such a calm and loveble personality, but when he steps inside the cage, totally different animal!!! A beast!!! Hope he gets the W!!!
Dustin Poirier has matured so much over the years..good to see him have patience Giving a slow boring interview with a dull interviewer and poor production quality despite the big banner. Schmo would've done 20x better job with Helen holding the cam...😪
This is what real confidence looks and sounds like. Not fake bravado. Dustin knows he’s put in the work, he’s been through the fire. Conor may have the skill, but not the will.
1:48 that says A LOT about Conor considering how many people Dustin has been in there with from actual fights to sparring and training. he knows how dangerous Conor is.
For real man Dustin is so composed and intelligent I wonder if he'd have been who is without the Conor loss. Conor basically made a monster he may not be able to triumph
He's got the right mindset, a clever guy. Realistic, honest and focused. He's outlined that it's a totally different fight and that the last two encounters were no different and understands that Conor isn't fighting for the need of money, only fighting for the love of fighting and the challenge etc which makes Conor a really dangerous fighter. It's a totally different fight, both teams will set out their game plans but only one will be right on the night plus it also depends which fighter can execute that plan too on the night. Doesn't matter how many times they fight it would be different each time. Sure, they have certain traits that they lean towards during a fight that's the same, such as Conor looking for that big left, but how they create that opening and how they switch to an early take down or try and put a new twist on the night that was unexpected etc, always interesting to watch. Personally I felt that because of Conors absence and inactivity, that a return fight against a fighter of the caliber of Dustin was way too soon and a dumb move by the UFC and I don't see how things would have changed that much for this 3rd fight. I felt Conor needed a couple of fights against good quality fighters to blood himself back into the sport after such a long time out, but not at Dustins level obviously, that was a big name too soon for Conor but maybe Conor will have shaken that rust off by now but it's hard to know how he would have.
You got to Admire Dustin he tells it how it is and gives Conor respect for how he finished Alvarez and Aldo and isn't underestimating him, he knows it's all or nothing for Conor and I like the way he says Conors insicure about getting taken down, it's going to be a an interesting fight may the best man win!
@@jakecohen9715 He's been on longer win streaks but I should say he was clearly outsized at welterweight though. Especially against Usman and Covington. You can't deny that. It's a miracle he even managed to win those 3 fights.

Don't care who wins. Just expecting a banger.
A proper banger yeah?
Will be tough to see either lose honestly. Hopefully we get a war between the guys so both come out as winners in our eyes. Gonna be disappointed if we see a quick KO, which is very likely.
1st round ko incoming bruh. One is going to be ko'ed.
@@ufcfanatic8178 dont see dustin being knocked out. so conor by decision or his getting knocked out
May the best man win’s.
Eddie KO'd him in the first fight. It was illegal knee but Eddie won anyway
@@artiew8718 just shut up man
@@artiew8718 Before the fight got stopped for the illegal move, Poirier had out struck Alvarez in both rounds.
You can't say Alvarez won based on an
illegal move lol. Poirier wasn't expecting it or defending himself from that position.

Might be the most composed, self-aware interview I’ve ever seen. Gotta love this guy.
I love that Dustin just says it how it is. Always gives McGregor credit where it’s due but always does himself justice as well
Dustin is my favorite fighrer! Outside the cage he has such a calm and loveble personality, but when he steps inside the cage, totally different animal!!! A beast!!! Hope he gets the W!!!

This is what real confidence looks and sounds like. Not fake bravado. Dustin knows he’s put in the work, he’s been through the fire. Conor may have the skill, but not the will.

"There's nothing else I can do. If there was somthing else, I would do it." 👊
It's nice to know that he's getting paid after putting in the grind for years. He's definitely full deserving.
