#Apple #AppleWatch #iPhone - Наука та технологія
I’m newer to Apple products, and I have to say not a big fan. My Samsung gives me an immediate alert when my phone has disconnected. I still can’t figure out how you got to the screen to turn on disconnection alert, but it’s pointless to have because it doesn’t work immediately.
Thank you for this test. Like others have said I feel you should be able to set the distance or time away to get a much quicker response. A lot can happen in 4 to 5 minutes or 250 meters!
Why not just notify the minute it gets disconnected. 200+ meters away might be a little too late. That time/distance, somebody else might already have your iphone with them intentionally 😆
It’s a good thing but it takes so long to get the notifications I wish it was closer leaving the building you get the notifications
I think they should make it notify you when the bluetooth connection is lost so that you are close. If it notifies you after a long distance, it is not so convenient. When the connection is accidentally interrupted, the watch screen shows it, but I want it to notify me as well because I may not look at the screen while driving away.
They should immediately notify you when phone disconnect from watch
Totally agree.
Garmin have done this for years....apple behind again :/
100% agree
Apple offers localization assistance as with the Air tag. But it does not offer a pure separation alert unfortunately. Such an alert should be given as soon as the Bluetooth connection is lost and it should not rely on signalling over the internet. This would be useful for example if somebody steals your luggage on a train where the luggage which might be placed 5-10 meters away from you so you can't see ut all the time. Also, it would be valuable to set the signal levels that cause a separation alert. Furthermore, the separation alert on the phone could be a specific audible signal.
There are dedicated devices with separation alerts to your phone but I haven't figured which one to choose
Great test of the functionality. Seems to be improvable.
And always nice to see some spots of Stockholm 🙂
Thanks for the video. But that is too little to late. I have left my phone at home but not notice it until I was already at work and not able to go home to get it. The little red square is useless with no alarm to sound. My Android phone and watch alerted faster and with an alarm. I bought Phone Buddy to get my Apple Watch and phone to alert me but it only seems to alert on the phone and not the watch! I am more likely to have my and leave my phone than the other way around.
I think you got it backwards. The second test worked as intended. You told it not to alert you if the phone is left within the IKA area.
I believe you are right! It is indeed a feature that should be explained better even in the settings on the iphone.
I’ll do more testing and maybe I’ll have to take down this video. Thanks for pointing that out!
@@MK-Tech I confirm foobarturkey is right... I use it so I don't get notification for my AirTags or iPhone when left at home.
Didn't even give me a notification until I was already like half way to school even though it was only about 800m. The chaotic traffic system in Vietnam made things a lot harder for me so I couldn't even go back to grab my phone. Besides, I live in the 6th floor of a place that doesn't even have an elevator. 🤦♂️
Thanks for doing this research! The feature would be very valuable to me if it worked at even shorter distances. Seems to me that when the little red rectangle appears, the notification should happen. Or at least you should be able to set it for that. What do you think?
Excellent video as always
Thank you 🙏
Is this not supported for series 6 Apple Watch? I’ve tried different things but it says not supported on my watch. I have iPhone 12 Pro
Very good feature
Does this feature work when watch is connected to mobile data and Bluetooth is off on both iphone and apple watch ? Or does it work only when apple watch is connected to Bluetooth?
*Wow, so it works. Did you try dragging the blue dot to make the radius even smaller than the small setting? How small can you make the radius?*
I think the smallest is 100m - its the smallest I could drag it.
@@tariqismrgrumpy what's the default size of the small option?
@@bushgreen260 A tiny bit over 100m
This never works for me
Yup sometimes doesn’t work on time , happen today at the gas station
What a great underrated feature for missing minded people like me. Thx!
Samsung watch can do it in 25 steps away with a big vibration in the watch very good
Thanks for sharing your experiences
Someone mentioned it already in the comments; The notification did not happen because the iPhone was within the radius that was assigned not to send notification. In this video that means that the icon noting loss of connection to iPhone appeared but since it was in the assigned radius it wont notify. The iPhone was still at home so it should be easy to find.
I can not get mine to work like that. Mine will only notify my iPad (which would be at my home while I'm out...useless). Apple Support just told me the feature is not supported on the Apple Watch...mmmmmmmm
Hey there, not great if you left it in a shopping centre and don't remember where you left it..:) It actually happend to me just today, left the phone somewhere in the shopping centre and by the time I got the notification, I couldn't retrace my steps and locate my phone! Ended up leaving my wife's number with the shopping centre information centre and someone found it and call my wife.
Not so good. 200 meters before you get a notification, it's way too far. Should be able to get a notification as soon as the connection is lost.
Thx for the test!
Thanks for letting us know about this. This is awesome. I love your airtag vieeos.
I turned it on for all my AirTags and my phone except the one in the car. I saw the comment of the other person. I didn’t think about that either. I think apple does need to make a better explanation.
Also I was thinking.
If the Apple Watch is not connected to cellular (the internet) how can you get notified if there is no connection so it can’t know how far you waked or where you are unless it’s connected to cellular or perhaps someone in the find my network walks by you and I assume the Apple Watch would work like an airtag. Maybe the first time you got notified someone in the find my network with an apple device was within Bluetooth range.
Thanks Greg!
I’ll release another video where I do more in depth analysis of the left behind feature.
The watch is mapping the gps position. So I believe the position is somehow saved in the watch from the find my network. And when it done have a connection to the watch it’s comparing the gps position with the database.
I also believe that specific feature was remhh on bed from the beta version at one point so it was surely not easy to achieve :)
But I’m so happy it’s there!
@@MK-Tech I was wondering how that worked. Thanks for explaining that. Look forward to the update 🙂video
This is out of date. You can adjust the settings so it will buzz your watch loudly (adjustable) only 10 or 20 meters away.
It’s a nice feature but Apple is really missing the point. When I get up and walk away from my desk at work or exit my car it’s pretty useless being notified on my Apple Watch after I have reached another location. Apple has been dropping the ball on this since the release of the first Apple Watch. We should be able to set up the watch to notify us once we’ve walked 20 feet away from the phone.
Thanks for sharing :)
If you have a car keys and a key when you’re running you don’t want to be notified about your car keys at home When running
50 ft away
I cant believe how bad this his. My boys bought the iWatch for me not loose my iWatch!!
Crazy!! I want to be notified as soon leave my phone on the table of a coffee shop!! Not after its been pocketed by a phone thief! After 10 minutes is ridiculous!!!!
Thanks for sharing !
I can't get that red little icon to show. And there is no sound alert.
ios 15 is really ios 14.9 alpha. They just let it out and it needs testing.
There might be more to this than I first thought. Keep your eyes open for an upcoming video…
That’ drains battery a lot HAHAHAHAH
Typical Apple, they always seem to fall just short of whats promoised. A hate/love relation! 😁
nice implants!
