Holy crap you're the only person i have ever known to own a bottle of preferred stock. I remember spraying this, ck obsession and givenchy pi from my pops back in the early 90's. That was his rotation and some after shaves that i don't remember the brand names that were super musky. Good times lol good times😅
Outstanding insight with these fragrances tying together the history with what was about to come in the following years as the trends shifted. Talking about the best way to acquire a collection you nailed it while talking about Rochas Globe. Personally, I now look at collecting like making investments with rule number 1 being let them come to you, don't go buy the super high prices at their tops. If you single out a fragrance and just have to have it you will pay a premium for it, but I found it's best to have a big list of fragrances and search around for someone dumping it and if it's on my list I swoop in and buy it. I wish I realized this early on in my journey. It was actually because of you a while back, in one of your videos you were talking about Ensar EO1, you hadn't tried or owned it yet I don't remember which it was, but lol I told you there was someone selling a 1ml sample for $50 and you laughed me out of the room and that you will wait to buy a full bottle at a better value. That really opened my eyes to looking at fragrances not only as something to smell and have fun with, but also as a way to add personal value and look at fragrances sort of like an investment. So thank you for that bit of wisdom...and embarrassment! Haha!
I own about 15ml left from a Parfums Corp Kouros . Precisely from 1990 , and the year I was born ! Oh man! You seem to review any fragrance that I’ve been intrigued by 😆 BTW : Égoïste blows any of those Bleu and Allure , even Platinum. Don’t sleep on Nina Ricci club , I suggest you to get the Haute Concentration, the florals in there are very rich and deep woody citrus 🍊. If you love Versus Uomo (which I own ) you’ll definitely love Nina Ricci
I have had fragrances do that sometimes.... you keep thinking of them even though you dont own them just off a sniff 👃🏻 Do report back and let me know your thoughts if you get to smell it 🍻
@@RamseytheRam I don't do a tenth as much as you do mate. Tabac Extreme is a 2 sprays max kind of fragrance; more than that and you're deep into an abyss of sweaty vibes from which you might never return.
The vintage KL Photo with the green digital font lettering and rubber coated cap was my favorite of the decade.🔥 Really wish that would make a comeback 😢
Preferred Stock...ay, coño!!! This is where my "journey" really started. Nobody smelled better in that 8th grade classroom. Picked it up at good ole Warehouse Drugs...I forgot all about it until about 12 years ago when I walk by this guy at work and I got a whiff. I asked what he was wearing and he comes at me almost apologizing, saying it was just a cheap fragrance called Preferred Stock. Went home that day and 100 ml bottles were going for less than $15. Stocked up really good and still wear it proudly.
Always wanted to try the re-release of Monsieur Balmain from that year. Didn't Polo Crest come out that year too? Or was that '91....one or the other. Still before the aquatic generation anyway. Kinda like that Action Uomo bottle design though. 😄 Supremely gym-bag friendly.
I remember being in Paris back in the mid 90’s and smelling Globe and falling in love with it. I bought two bottles thinking I would never get it back home in the U.S. A couple of months after coming home, I found Globe and it was even cheaper.
Absolutely fantastic videos, man. I'm blind buying those fragrances you're talking about and so far I've never missed. Maybe once with Azzaro Acteur which I find as a much less interesting version of Rochas Globe, but I still appreciate it in some way. :}
From the day I smelled it in 90' when it was released I have never liked Egoiste'. It has a plastic smell of yellow vinyl rain suit. It's what I associate it with and have never been able to get past it. I have vintage and current formulations of it in decants of Original EDT, Concentree and Platinum. I occasionally take them out and see if I smell it differently and that it'll just finally click. All I smell is that damn vinyl smell.🤷♂ I remember the lead up and advertising of Egoiste at Macy's in Meadowood Mall in Reno Nevada(where I grew up). In the fragrance section it was on the same special made pedestal display(testers) with Pour Monsieur Concentree' when it was released. Just those two together.
I have to put my nose on Balenciaga Pour Homme from what a lot of people saying about it.. what season is the best to wear? I will purchase a sample of it 💯👍
Its a year round fragrance for me as that strange fougere touch allows you to wear it anytime even in the highest of heat but the thick patchouli & cinnamon probably make it best for cooler temps 🐏
Just picked up the “metal” edition of Rochas Globe. Great fougere opening and solid leather drydown. Surprised it isn’t talked about more. Bitchin bottle
i just won an auction for an old metal rimmed bottle of globe 100ml, like 60 bucks lol. very excited. i remember not too long ago somebody telling me "rose notes" (nevermind rose AND leather) and id be running in the opposite direction haha. now it suits me well. p.s. wore my precious equipage geranium today....so damn nice dude. contender for classiest i possess
Ocean rain is weeeird... it could be better without that aquatic note I suppose, says someone who hates aquatics as much as one can.... glad to have a sample as a reference though
Well, maybe b/c I'm familiar with the plant nursery industry, but I liked vetiver from first stong whiff of a pure essential oil, which is known for its grounding properties. And I'm a she 😘
I disagree about coming around to some notes. I've never come around to liking vetiver and I've been collecting for over 32 years. There are a few exceptions of course
Maybe you just need another 32 years 😆 I kid of course but you are correct... i think there are some notes and folks whose nose will change over time and some who just never will ... but I think to know what could change for you, you have to have a diverse pallet and smell a whole bunch of different types of perfumes 🐽
Awesome year to review my brother. Totally love it. Totally love your work. Keep it up.
Thanks for the support Andy 🤌🤌🤌

Good times indeed 😅
It also isnt as bad as soon folks make it out to be ...worth a sniff if you get a chance 🤌🤌🤌
Rochas Globe needs a full vid for sure!
It's on the list!

Thanks for thoughts and thinking on the game 💪🐏

I would love to smell the Nina Ricci one day! 💯% agree on Egoiste btw....a million times better than Blugh 🤢 de chanel 😂
I 've only tested Egoiste once, many years ago, but somehow it got stuck with me. Definitely need to get my nose on it again soon 👃
I have had fragrances do that sometimes.... you keep thinking of them even though you dont own them just off a sniff 👃🏻

Thanks for the shout-out 🙂
Tabac Original Extreme is a good one from 1990 too!
Never smelled it 😱
Thanks for all you do for the community Keith 🤌🤌🤌

I have a few minis of the OG and will do a comparison video one of these days 🐽🐏
I just made a comment somewhere about that one recently! It was all the rage where I lived one year when I was young.

I just got that Bateau , it’s alright , oddly it smells like a mix of several fragrances. A bit odd but ahead of its time

Cerruti 1881, my dad's early 90's frag. Just recently got a bottle for myself, for old times sake.
One more time for old tikes sake 🎵

Plastic yellow Rain Suit?! ☔️🌦 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching & commenting as always... dont get that association stuck in my head now!!! 😆
Current Cerutti 1881 is massively different. No sharp citrus, no greennes, no chypre vibe. Avoid it like the plague.
😂😂😂
I need a vintage bottle pronto 🥵
@@RamseytheRam yess, the greenest juice color possible.

Yeah no one did those strange acquatic notes quite like Roudnitska 🌊
I bought a new etro vetiver edc for 90 euro. Waiting for it to arrive.
Heck ya! Congrats... one of the best vetiver frags around 🤌🤌🤌
