Debbie Edward won A LOT of respect here in Aus for the way she handled that joke.
Shortly afterwards when interviewed on one of our morning tv shows, the dipsh't presenter Karl Stefanovic just kept trying to embarrass her, like it was his joke.
Instead to her credit, her response was effectively "that was the first time we seen those guys smile all day, and I'm glad I could give them that."
Karl being the oblivious dumbarse he is just kept going. What a tool.

I think the reporter in Australia at the end was actually scared of the koala because she’d been told it was a drop bear, a similar-looking but much more dangerous animal
Can confirm, had a scooter last week that was nicked by a drop bear. Scary overgrown rats they are.

In fact I did a search on the "Australian Drop Bear". there is an article from National Geographic, The Australian Museum of Natural History and The Sydney Morning Herald. All very reputable sources and all published on April 1st. I seriously spent an hour trying to convince my daughter to do a project on it at school citing these reputable sources. We are Australian, I just wanted her to present something as a project to the school that she could cite and get full marks for having two primary sources and a secondary. It would have been a great joke.

I just found your videos on UA-cam and I’ve been laughing so hard my sides hurt.
I remember seeing another of your shows where you showed a video interview with the lady in the shop who beat up a robber. She was showing what she had done to him with a metal bar. At the time I had already seen the interview with Willie and her burgler. So when the shop lady started shoving that rod at the burglar, I kept hearing Willie, " I was shuggin him. Shuggin him. I really did a number 9n that man."
