This aired 28 September 2019. He mentions going on tour to the states. I had a ticket for that show. Bought it in 2019. Ended up attending it in 2022. Never had three years to wait for a comedy gig before!
Red Dwarfs S1-2 was the best.
@@troysmith3082 I hear you. I preferred the Lister and Rimmer double act to the Lister and Kryten double act that the show became. No offence to the actor but I never liked how Kryten changed the balance (it also marginalised Holly). But saying that, I find series 3 to 5 my favourites.
Saw him in Denver for that tour!!!
"that does sound like something you might cook with"
Similar, I had it booked for my 16th birthday, when I ended up going I was almost18! (In the UK)
God i didnt even realise that was Mel B until she started talking about being married 20 years ago
As an American who loves British TV, it took me years to figure out what a lollipop man is. I don’t know why they bring it up so much either. I used to think it was a euphemism for a pedo.
And we have them in the US. We just call them crossing guards instead of using a weird indirect euphemism about how their signs are vaguely shaped like a giant lollipop.
@@dunbar9finger I always assumed because it was meant to be fun and memorable for the kids to call them lollipop lady/man since they're mainly to keep school children safe but I never looked into it deeply XD
We have a low-rent Gandalf the fluorescent with a stop sign telling metal beasts 'You Shall Not Pass!' to help the little hobbits get from the Shire to Mordor
Russell is such a gorgeous human being!
Why doesn't Russ just simply say:
"We get old people to stand in the road with a stop sign so kids don't get run over! You call them crossing guards."
because that's not funny
If an American doesn't know what a lollipop person is, why do you assume a Brit knows what a crossing guard is?
Well because most of us don’t use crossing guards and won’t know what it means then ,think about what ur typing 😂
Why are so many americans upset that he didnt acknowledge american "crossing guards". Its a joke, jeez!
I was at the RESPITE Cardiff show ✌
Ok
In my head I'm hearing a mashup of the Wedding March, Funeral March, and Darth Vader's March.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
TIL English people don't know America has crossing guards. They also carry stop signs to stop traffic, they're just not called "lollipop men".
Here in Denmark, pupils in the older classes do the lollipopping/being a crossing guard with a teacher supervising them.
That was my first thought. It's clearly a street crossing guard, which is a much more professional title. I'm pretty confident that there aren't too many American men that would let you refer to them as a lollipop anything.
@@HeatherHotcakesborriiinnngggggg
@@HeatherHotcakesWell, they also call canned whipped cream, “squirty cream”, so how seriously can you take the country? 😂
@@BeccaB529 Always able and willing to laugh at ourselves - is the only way!
I have an idea for Seguls
It's our version of school crossing guards it's not a hard thing to explain
Yeah, really interesting! 🤐😁
If you don’t like it, fuck off.
Genuinely thought that was Ellen DeGeneres at first
Thanks, I've just spat my red wine everywhere. 😂
Imagine insulting a comedian with their own self deprecating joke…
You’re SO right!
I'm totally flummoxed wondering how on earth you could mistake Mel for Ellen... then I realised 🤣🤣😳🤭
He's joked about it many times.
Wussell Howawd
Russell: Greg’s 6’8”, not 6’7”.
What difference does an inch make 😉😂
Who’s wussel?
Yeah UK people think that just because we dont use the same indirect euphemism they made up for a thing that means we don't have that thing. We have crossing guards we just never decided to call them lollipop men based on the stop signs they carry kinda vaguely looking like a giant lollipop.
It's not a euphemism. I've never heard the phrase crossing guard before. It's just the name for them
u mean a lollipopMAN not lolliepop people
You never seen a lollipop woman?
All my life I’ve been incredibly skinny and now I’ve put on weight I absolutely hate it.
Mel b one underated mostly hottie... ya alot work. Seems now. Horrid voice but...
You're not wrong, she's had a lot of surgery.
IS THAT who it is...???
Lolipop men are weird, because we need people to ensure kids get to & from, school across roads.....
What....
How much of a simplton does someone have to be to call that weird & actually not be able to grasp the super basic logic in it...
We call them crossing guards and they hold a stop sign. We would never call the stop sign a lollipop here in the US. I think it's just a matter of using different words. For the person asking why thought of a man standing in the street holding an actual candy lollipop, which doesn't make any sense as to why.
There are few people less funny than this man
Cheers for taking time out of your busy schedule to tell everyone.
@@cogboy302 you’re welcome
Soooo Lollipop people are just crossing guards with signs exactly like we have in the U.S.? Literally clicked on this vid because I thought it was going to be something weird. Boo!
me too. 8 1/2 minutes for a single line that wasn't even that funny.
Russell Howard , host of Jordan Peterson - invited onto the Jonathan Ross show whom is a close friend of Russell Brand.
Enough said 🐀 🐀 🐀
That was nowhere near enough said what are you on about 💀💀
He used to be so funny. But like francie Boyle he decided to just talk down to the British public after a while. Happens to most "ordinary life is funny" comedians
He's still really funny...
I saw him live last year and it was one of the most electrifying gigs I have been to. He riffed on current events and with the audience so well.
@@bobtheskutterbot maybe don't name yourself bot yeh
@@Sh23-hv7sn bob the skutter is from Red Dwarf and it's been my go-to internet ID since 1999. However I was too late to nab it for UA-cam so had to append something to it. bot just rolled off the tongue. Better than adding numbers at least.
@@bobtheskutterbot oh shit yeh that is a skutter 😂 😂 😂 fair play
i remember when Howard used to stand on principle and not shill at pop shows whilst ignoring important current event. Shame
Few things to unpack here.
1:This is from ages ago
2.He covers the state of the government in evey show discussing heavy topics ao obviously he just fancied stepping away from that for a while.
3:Shill isnt a word
@@harrisondenton2621 google shill... and revise your other points. If one is so wrong how can anyone trust your other 2 points? Willful self-deception is hilarious.
@@harrisondenton2621uh shill is most definitely a word Harrison. Someone's middle class showing?
Are you saying he was ignoring something when this aired in 2019 or are you saying that he's ignoring something now?
@@Sh23-hv7snno the middle class no what shill means it’s more an age thing…
So left and PC the comedy ran away from him.

Y ou act like we don't have crossing guards in the US. So, we call them crossing guards instead of lollipop men or women. Who cares?
You apparently 😂
you mean lollipop man and woman.
Yeah men and women are people aren't they?
