Here in Canada it was -40 for like a full week, and I had to walk to school at 6am for basketball. Worst thing was I didn’t have my coat so I wore bathrobe over my clothes.

The first ever snow day I ever got was when I was working in Dublin and it snowed. It also caused the great bread shortage of 2018. People were buying 5 or 6 loaves of bread at a time. After my return to the frozen circle of hell from which I'd came, temperatures plummeted. Last February it was dark 16 hours a day, and we got 4 days out of the month where the temperature rose above -30. We were still expected to go to work even if the heat in the car didn't work because it was too fucking cold causing you to pull over and scrape the inside of your windscreen. In my two years in Dublin, I didn't once complain about the weather. I'd tell people that if it didn't feel like someone was shoving a hot poker into your sinuses causing them to feel like they were burning which in addition to the wind made your eyes water which in turn would make your eyelashes freeze together, it wasn't that cold. Every winter, the collective population of 6 million people in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba wonder why the hell they live here. I've decided this year not to. I'm going to the UK... There's no way to explain to anyone what -54 feels like.

Dude, -2°C IS considered cold where I live and also where I live, snowfall accumulation DOES cause the whole city to shut down. BUT the important thing to consider here is that "where I live" is in SOUTH TEXAS. I live just as far away from the equator as Kuwait City! Britain is in the northern reaches of Western Europe, with London further up north than even New York City. Y'all are supposed to be equipped for the cold! To me it's beyond crazy that y'all would react that way.
