Power Supply Explained: Wattage, 80 Plus, Modular vs. Non-Modular and more

The power supply is the component that makes the computer possible, without it your computer wouldn't turn on. This video is all about the PSU and what you need to consider when purchasing one.
At the most basic level, a power supply converts AC power from your wall into DC power that your computer can use. However, different power supplies have different levels of efficient, which is where the 80 Plus certification comes in.
You can also purchase fully modular, non-modular or semi-modular power supplies. These categories relate to the permanence of the cables. Modular means they can be removed from the PSU, non-modular cannot be removed and semi-modular has some that can and cannot be removed. I prefer fully modular for the aesthetic, but non-modular models can be more budget friendly.
