as someone whose just finished year 9, this is the perfect advice for anybody starting this year. have fun but work hard for your end of year exams because they will help decide your sets for the new year and when choosing your options really research into them and figure out which options best suite you. i chose geography because it is one of my favourite subjects and i love the content, art because it is something that i really really enjoy and health & social care because it is interesting to me and i think leads onto lots of different careers, good luck! x
Chloe Mary im planning on picking triple science history french and either rs or physiology but they are all very heavy on subjects my mom suggests to take a more "easier" subject or "relaxing" like music, art, drama but im not the best amd personally think its a waste of an option do u think im pushing myself too much or are my options okay???

I'm going into year 9 and quarantine has messed it up. Classes will be the same for every subject, last year there were a few subjects with sets and the rest was in our teaching group. There's 2 people I absolutely HATE in my form next year, this year is going to be great...

i just finished year 9, and the best advice i can give, what i wish i did myself in yr9 was just focusing in lessons and preparing for exams a lot. bc its the first year u start your gcse subjects, eg i took computer science and business, and they start all the gcse courses n stuff, so its rlly important to rlly focus for the basics at least, if u miss those, it becomes hard to catch up. plus for me we got sorted into our science sets for the first time so you were either in triple, combined or foundation. i didnt focus much on science for sum stupid reason and ended up not getting triple science. so focus in lessons, prepare for exams and know which subjects you should be focusing on
Dylan woah woah, bro. just because they’re going into year 9 doesn’t mean they need to stop doing the things they enjoy. though i’ve never been into gacha, so what if someone likes it!! you play roblox and no one has a problem with that?? keep your opinions to yourself man, bang out of order.
year 9 was the sickest year. it just had everything. football, hot summer, drama, good friendships, chips/pizza after school, music. year 7 was really good aswell because it was a fresh and new experience and i look back on my set with nostalgia. year 8 was the year that nothing really happened but was still good. year 10 was trash because of many reasons so i'm glad that school closed. year 11 so far has been decent actually..not nearly the best but decent. i think things just don't have the spice that they had in the first 3 years.
a good portion through year 9 right now, i’m also the oldest in the year group as i was born september 6th! we are picking our options in the next few weeks, then we begin our gcse courses for mandatory subjects in the spring term, and to be honest i’m still shocked i made it this far! in year 8 i was placed in a class without any of my friends, and i decided to stay put to see if it would improve my independence and self-confidence. overall, i got generally more independent, however i wasn’t coping too well so i was arranged to be put in a class with my friends in year 9. we are all top set students and there are only two top set classes, so it was just a matter of moving me over. it’s been such a good decision and i’ve done a lot better just by being in a comforting environment with people i trust :) with regards to the classwork, i’ve understood the majority of it, and maybe my interests in english have helped a lot. my favourite ks3 subjects involve a fair chunk of writing assessments, and because i enjoy lots of writing, i end up doing quite well. in my school we get to choose 3 subjects for our options, and currently i’m considering geography & history for 2 of those options. for anyone who is in year 8 right now; year 8 is quite different from year 7, however not much changes academically. my advice would be to stay on target, don’t get distracted too easily, and just follow along with what the teacher is saying. the test scores you get in year 8 certainly won’t determine if you’ll make it to university, but it’s good to get into useful habits of revising and completing homework on time, because this will really give you a head start when you have to start studying a lot at gcse level!

Tip for choosing your subjects think about your future and what you really want to do for a living and start step by step at year 9, for example if you’re choosing art than I recommend also selecting history or ect. Just basically think all around it even if you might not be particularly interested in history :)
im terrified! i got into a fight in Year 8, which ended with me and the other girl getting an isolation! (the other gurl started it, but oh well!) I really hope this doesn’t affect me in any way!

So please start studying now and do not do the same thing, right now I'm revising every single day and I'm getting back my scores and catching up. But I should have studied earlier and stopped procrastinating. Also i learnt try not getting detentions and participate alot in class because they write this all in the end of the year and give u a final score. It's never too late! Also I'm sorry if any of this sounded rude or strange, good luck!

I think everyone is scared to go into a new year at first but after a whole you get used to it and cant imagine what it was like in year 8 ! At least we have like 6-7 weeks off school to mentally and physically prepare ourselves 😂
I love your accent! I'm Australian and I'm going into year 9 in a few days, I'm so excited but worried! Really needed this video :) Also I don't really understand what you mean by GCSE's and why you start in september
(in the UK except Scotland) a GCSE is a qualification in a specific subject typically taken by school students aged 14-16. In the UK, school begins in September as the summer holiday starts from mid July and ends towards the start of September (Which I presume is different from Australia.) Hope that helped 👍

Going in year 9 in September, thank you so so much
Same lol , Im really scared this year because we start the GSCEs in 9 and I want to be organised and do more than just keep my head above the water
@@alicialay166 Samee !! I've bought a binder and everything. Dunno if I'll use it but dont worry we are all in the same boat.
Really needed this video :)
Also I don't really understand what you mean by GCSE's and why you start in september
(in the UK except Scotland) a GCSE is a qualification in a specific subject typically taken by school students aged 14-16. In the UK, school begins in September as the summer holiday starts from mid July and ends towards the start of September (Which I presume is different from Australia.)
Hope that helped 👍
Lovely Video Charlotte you never fail to inspire me! Without you I wouldn't a orginised person i am now so thank you!! I am going to Year 7 :))
Thankyou so much for making this!! I'm going into year 9 and I was really nervous but you have helped me a lot ❤❤❤
