They aren't historically accurate and that's fine because that's how film works. I wonder why *this* casting decision is upsetting to you?

I stopped watching halfway through. Maybe I missed something because I gave up at the twist in the middle but I was just so frustrated by then that I had to turn it off. While the acting is commendable, the plot felt predictable as everything we have seen in film since 2016 was written by misguided leftists. It seemed like a typical formula film portraying Christians and men as the primary antagonists, suggesting that these groups are the issue. True innovation in storytelling would involve moving beyond stereotypes and not casting large segments of society as villains based on their gender or beliefs.
And there were no black judges in the 1920's either and highly unlikely that the ladies playing whist would have had a black friend in the 1920's. If historical films were made about the black community they wouldn't have to replace half the cast with white people. It's getting ridiculous.

Reading these comments is an incredible journey into the self-deceptions of the English film audience. Were you upset when Joseph Fiennes and Gwyneth Paltrow didn't speak in Elizabethan English in Shakespeare in Love? Were you howling when Nazi Germany wasn't shown in full colour in Schindler's List? Were you furious when Elizabeth Taylor played the Egyptian queen Cleopatra? No. You accepted these as artistically justified decisions, made to speak to a particular audience. They aren't historically accurate and that's fine because that's how film works. I wonder why *this* casting decision is upsetting to you?
Except the deliberately inaccurate casting of this film was not an artistically justified decision, but rather one imposed by the state:
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
― George Orwell, 1984
lol, yay, we're all waycists and notsees
I'm relieved we have such laser-focussed scrutineers of the state.
@@pinkie7803 Given the events of the last 8, and especially the last 4 years, large proportions of the public, not just the 'laser-focussed [sic] scrutineers of the state' are starting to wake up.
Tell me the one about George Soros! I love that one.
Also, use a dictionary; double s is a perfectly acceptable spelling. @@alexistarr
Despite all of the woke, historically inaccurate casting, it's actually a really fun film and Olivia is amazing as per usual. Loved the film.
BUT THEY CHANGED SOME OF THE ACTUAL ACTORS..!!!!!! OF colour why.....!!!!!!!
Even the trailer looked boring
Please watch it only the first 5 minutes just make sure you pee first 😂😂😂

A river of blood.@@tristankik6223
@@tristankik6223You'll be crying more than a river, when one day you'll realise there's no England anymore.
Assuming you're white and not a coloniser.
@tristankik6223 run out of tears, the indigenous English have been weeping for the destruction of their history for years, in secret, alone.
A treatment never seen in history.
1:24:48 into the movie that shit was gangsta
I stopped watching halfway through. Maybe I missed something because I gave up at the twist in the middle but I was just so frustrated by then that I had to turn it off. While the acting is commendable, the plot felt predictable as everything we have seen in film since 2016 was written by misguided leftists. It seemed like a typical formula film portraying Christians and men as the primary antagonists, suggesting that these groups are the issue. True innovation in storytelling would involve moving beyond stereotypes and not casting large segments of society as villains based on their gender or beliefs.
So funny Quess she would have been diagonsed with Tourettes today
Another propaganda fantasy
😅 👌
This looks f***ing s***!
Premiered today. Let's see what the reviews say. I can do without Baccara. She stank in the 70s and she stinks now
She?
Nice and fun little film but i could've done without the woke casting and the , at times, heavy handed feminist agenda.
Boycott BBC did verify check this at the biased broadcasting company. And dont use Baccara they were brilliant
Trash
Obviously, Gladys Moss, the first female Sussex police officer, was not Indian.
And there were no black judges in the 1920's either and highly unlikely that the ladies playing whist would have had a black friend in the 1920's. If historical films were made about the black community they wouldn't have to replace half the cast with white people. It's getting ridiculous.
That weirded me out too, but it's worth moving past it because this film as a banger besides that. In my opinion anyways
Woke rubbish
