    Great video, Siloé!
And there are much more to be analysed, considering DNA. The portuguese and spanish people themselves also have a porcentage of North African DNA, even before the slavery period, due to moorish invasion in Iberic Peninsula that lasted from 711 ad to 1492 ad (omiad caliphate and Al-Andalus). That period is much longer than the colonization of the americas. In the end, we are all brothers and sisters.

Wow, this episode was really informative, educational and touched on a lot of topics. I am an avid amateur gardener always trying new heirlooms and trying to grow as many interesting plants as possible. Though I don't have much optimism for it this year, my super exotic I want to grow is Naranjilla, from the Andes. Even if I don't get to pick anything, just the growing experience is fun and may help me better prepare for the next year. Ive had the Kiwano Melon on one occasion myself, but after learning so much I wouldn't mind trying it again after my newfound appreciation for the fruit. Keep up the gardening, Siloe.

I am new to gardening & last year i feel like i didn't get much out of my yard/gardens because i didn't have a game plan & didn't really think about the time things need to grow & plant accordingly. I was so moved by this video which is not only visually stunning but extremely thought provoking and poignant. You are such an amazing artist, teacher and storyteller.
I was born in Guyana, and this really got to me because of our country’s proximity to Brazil. There were whispers of Portuguese heritage in our family, but it was not something that was openly talked about. My grandfather looked like a Portuguese man, while his brothers and sisters did not. There were rumors of my great grandmother’s affair with a prominent Portuguese businessman. Yet my grandfather never acknowledged these whispers and did not claim to be anything other than black. This story has taken me down an emotional rabbit hole has made me want to learn more about my mother’s roots. Thanks Siloe, as usual your videos are so much more than just how-to’s.

This is like opening a plain cardboard box at Christmas only to find a jewel encrusted treasure trove of history and art ( love the theatre within the wooden box)....and philosophy and sociology and science! You are a Master educator! Bravo!! I want to journey with you through theses videos as long as you make them. MOST ORIGINAL CHANNEL ON YOU TUBE

I'm watching this video for the 2nd time and must give you Kudos for tying in the history of the slave trade in Brazil with the seed education of the African melon. You must be a professor. You do an amazing job educating people and you're using your platform wisely. Thank you my brother.

Siloé you did it again! This was such a great video and your transparency was admirable. Also I find it very interesting that you attempted to grow this fruit in particular, because I just recently tried it myself. It taste great mixed with greek plain yogurt and honey. If you ever get a chance to try it, let me know what you think.

This was a beautifully made video - the story, the narration, it more than made up for the fact that we did not get to see the African melon fruit :)
