Video of The Pumpkins live set at this bash needs to be unearthed already! I’ve been looking forever. MTV was there and multiple cameras filmed this event. Time to cough up the goods, someone.
Omggg I live in Boston, remember going to shows there before it turned to The House of Blues.. now thats being replaced my Roadrunner & MGM.. but sooo jealous of whoever got to attend this show!!!
I was there. I always hung out at Axis. If it makes you feel any better the sound levels were too high. I ended up hanging out with Don the bouncer by the door.
I recall the first time i ever heard Teen Spirit ( i was shaving / i was living in St Paul Mn.) And i was stopped in my tracks mid razor stroke I knew intuitively this was big.
Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam live premiere….seems Kurt knew what he was playing & the other two lost timings on their parts - check it out…..one of the best live Nirvana songs
Krist always controlled the situations in the interviews, coming out of the whole situation with his intelligence, cynicism and sarcasm, he is definitely Krist Novoselic...
Actually, It is a matter of fact, as during the show you can hear either Dave or Krist say we learn this song today, then began playing "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam" so the First live performance of Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam is on 09/23/91, the First live performance of Son Of A Gun was on 10/11/90, And the First live performance of Molly's Lips was on 11/17/89. (Each year Nirvana learned to play a Vaselines song lol).
Out of all the bands that played that night, I would of Skipped except the headline Nirvana. The other few bands I've never heard of and I'm not that big into Smashing Pumpkins... So Nirvana would of definitely would have been the only band I'd be interested in seeing at this Venue this night. And it's cool that since this show was 21+ Nirvana decided to play Axis Nightclub the following night 09/24/91 (the day Nevermind was released) Nirvana played an All-Ages show the next Night and Nirvana was the only band on the bill, would of been sick to see them Live both nights 09/23/91 & 09/24/91.
@@--thatbih lmao exactly because Oasis should NEVER be mentioned anywhere near Nirvana. That band had none of the impact nowhere near as earth shaking as Nirvana.
No clue, I think the camera had a setting where you could double two layers over the top of eachother, one zoomed out and the other zoomed in. Just guessing since old tape cameras had weird functions like that.

1 day before rock'n'roll changed forever
I'll never forget the first time I heard Nirvana. Kurt, Krist and Dave are the reason I started playing music again.

@@christophercomeau1079 how would you describe the energy in the air, in that room, how’d you feel.
Drain You is unique here.
Anyone notice that Krist's photo (being interviewed) inside In Utero album sleeve was taken from here.
Yup. I was so happy when that full interview finally surfaced.

Nirvana song? The Vaselines 🤷🏻♂️

Man I do feel bad for Krist losing his best friend
While he was also losing his hair. But Billy Corgan had no friends to lose whilst he was losing his hair. True story.
I guess that's one reason their set has yet to be unearthed, as someone else stated. I'm sure there are a couple reasons...
Amazing this took place exactly 30 years ago
Exactly 30 years ago today…nice

Right. It's Nirvana and GnR all the way! That 9/10/92 show was great where they paid tribute to Axel. 😂
