Hey Court. I truly believe you're the best caricature teacher out there. I have two requests:
    1. can you do a tutorial on live caricature? the material, how much time you can take, how to deal with messing up...
    2. your digital drawings are amazing. I can draw with pencils pretty well and do nicely rendered portraits digitally, but I find myself unable to emulate drawing on photoshop like you do in this tutorial for instance. I tried the same brushes, I played with their parameters to no avail. What's your secret?! maybe do a tut on drawing with photoshop? most of the knowledge available about digital is just about painting.

Thank you for the suggestions, Nidhal. We will consider it. I find that drawing on a larger screen helps my digital drawings. I use a Cintiq 22 inch screen. But my earlier demos for the course were drawn on a 13 inch Cintiq Companion tablet.

thanks for the reply. I found a course on digital drawing but it was very basic. The guy stated your name and recommended a course that you made about digital brushes but I can't find it. I think I can get it with enough mileage though :p
About live caricature, I don't really plan on doing it except maybe for fun, but I think it's a great exercise to develop an eye for picking up exaggerations, the forms and getting the likeness of any regular person in just few minutes. I don't know if it requires a different way of thinking since I'm new to caricaturing, but if it does, I'm interested =D
keep up the great work :D

I did have one lesson on digital painting as a technique for developing caricatures. And in it I give some instruction one setting up a good brush. Here is the free one on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/1-FuFvL8xEA/v-deo.html
But the instructions are a little more in-dpeth in the premium version of the video.
And I do recommend live quicksketch as a way to train yourself to do better work in general. That's how I got my start in this field. The constant repetition really makes you develop strong caricature instincts.

I love these, and I've been working on portraits, but I never understood the ultra realistic drawings. Why not just have a photo? I think these are so creative and fun. I just don't know if I can do it

WOw! It was amazing! in my youtube channel I made a kind of a analyse about Anthony Geoffroy' style, but I didn't draw anything in there. This way that you did was very effective to show what We can see on his work.
Thanks for share your points of view with us!

As an artist who has done my share of facial exaggerations in fast sketches, when it comes to more finished caricatures with much more extreme distortions done for a specific commercial purpose, there is something very unpleasant to me about employing one's talents in this direction.

I think you didn't exaggerate the head curve at all, not even close as Geoffroy does... he distorts the heads way too much in a way you can't just use linear caricature distortions and 'techniques'.

It’s good to figure out what you like in art, just let em do studies if need be. There’s some good tips in here even if it isn’t about anatomy. A great book I can recommend for anatomy, though, is the Atlas of Human Anatomy for Artists by Peck. Lots of great stuff in there

If you're interested in anatomy tutorials, search his channel for them! He already has dozens of anatomy tutorials recorded and uploaded just for you to watch! :)
Don't shame him for what he's decided to learn and share with us today, just because it's not what you were interested in or had the motivation to look for ~

Wtf dude, literally the majority of his channel is full of art tutorials? Be thankful for all the amazing, FREE high quality content he provides you! He could put everything in his shop so that you'd have to buy all of his tutorials, but Proko cares so much about inspiring and teaching young artists about art that he puts huge parts of his tutorials up on UA-cam, for everyone to watch at any time.
And then there's you, having the guts to complain about him providing you free content that you personally don't think is helpful for your own usage and say he should work even harder and go out of his own way to provide *only the best, most wonderful, EXCLUSIVELY anatomy tutorials for you, our majesty.* Because PFFFT how does he even DARE creating content, a single video, you don't personally find appealing? HOW COULD YOU, PROKO!!
