This is by far the best, most objective and fairest review of that car - not so much brand-driven and more (too) forgiving like others. So thank you for that! I hope Arrma notices that in a positive way. You're not doing them a favor in a long run if you just love everything blindly that they do and praise the ground they're walking on. I wholeheartedly agree their intentions were the best (I guess really everyone agrees on that) but their testing seems to be flawed because otherwise they should have noticed the twistend and bended chassis which occured massively right after start. They improved certain things like the more shimmed diffs, the motor mount and servo saver but really wrecked some other areas to a bigger and more expensive extent (radio and tower brace) and that all for higher price than before and part support still sucks. So either they should stiffen up the chassis plate for the V5’s with 7075 aluminium and maybe 1mm more thickness or deliver the car already with aluminium or steel chassis braces and a good radio.
ARRMA are not known for sitting on their hands and they have seen their review prior to going live, so I have no doubt that they are working on a solution to these problems for the next version. What they do and how they do it is what I'm curious about now... Thank you for you comment and for watching. 😊👍
I agree regret not buying another outcast for 389 w a tactic just buikding my own kraton instead buying v4 i paid 150 for diffrent tires an bad remote bc other mods i do myself anyway just like most bashers and t to brace better bolted to toweres and upgrade chassis way go needs be at least 4 mm and wouldnt need t to t
Strong work once again Brother 👊!!!! It's true the center brace is far stronger than the stock chassis supports 💪. Great explanation about how central weight impacts chassis dynamics and stress points 👌. Aluminum chassis supports are a MUST with this design. The STX2 radio simply does these 6s rigs an injustice 😝. Can one adjust to it....maybe. I wasn't seeing it personally. Hopefully Horizon is taking this seriously 🤔. Having to upgrade radios is a negative no question. Hope parts support ramps up soon my friend. The demand is certainly there from everything I hear anyways. Fair play with this one Vas. Constructive criticism gets the wheels turning.🍻👍👍😎💪👊👊
Thank you so much Rich. I hope you're right, I hope the wheels are turning to get some of these things rectified. As I said, ARRMA are on the right track, but they just need to tweak a few things and the V4 line will be near perfect. 😊🤜🤛
@@richduperbash2966 and Vas, So far on my Kraton V4, I've put on Voltage chassis braces and purchased a new radio system. I'm not a wealthy man by any stretch so I went with the RadioLink system (not loving the antenna on rx or tx) but the price is right and got a semi deal. The chassis braces from Voltage are a standard upgrade for my rigs already so they were ordered when I ordered the truck sight unseen. Automatic upgrade imo. I've run the new Kraton through maybe three packs but got scared to continue with so many ugly stories about radio failure / *failsafe. Hence shopping and settling on RadioLink. I really like the tires, love the sliding motor mount, and am indifferent about the T2T brace...which didn't sell me on the truck anyway. These (maybe necessary) upgrades don't run me off or make me feel disappointed in Arrma at all because I find it refreshing that they obviously at least try to make improvements based on consumer loyalty and feedback. Still, I know I can blast any of my Arrma rigs considerably harder than any other rtr available by a huge margin. Great review and great feedback from the Arrma bashing community here. I'll always support and stand by #ArrmaTough 👍💪👌🍻😊
The chassis braces are more eye candy than anything. They always cause forces to build up at the chassis' motor mount section, leading to the bowing. Then add the under-engineered T2T brace that don't actually incorporate the towers & then you have a problem which all elements together is jacking up the chassis rather than keeping it straight. So these cars either need a stronger chassis, stronger braces, or both. A M2C 7075 chassis with aluminum braces is so strong that it doesn't need the T2T. Of course, forces will still be built up @ the motor mount section, but the chassis can easily handle it. There are also several brands with super weak 6061 chassis with full upper chassis supports that have absolutely no problems with bending. A full upper support that tie all 3 diffs together is a PITA for maintenance but I've never bent a chassis on any flat plate chassis car I put it on. Arrma needs to go back to the drawing board with these improvements. They're causing more problems than solving. The crappy radio feels like poo, but there are several accounts of steering problems, loss of signal, & runaways. The servo saver is unadjustable & isn't putting enough pressure on the spring in some cases. The adjustable motor mount & ball joint upgrades are awesome. I never had a problem with the pillow balls but I don't see the seal hurting anything. The entire car is give & take, but all the bad is making the thing unbashable out the box.
All good points, but a M2C chassis is about $200aud here and despite how tough it might be, that's a very high price to pay. Add that to a $800+ car and you're at grand just so you can jump it? Nah, sorry. Take the T2T brace off and the car is fine as it is. If the chassis bends, then it's because you crashed it, not because you bashed it. But I do agree that ARRMA need to rethink this design. They've taken 2 steps forward and one step back.
@@AussieRCPlayground The price of the M2C here is tough to swallow as well, which is why I only have 1. I also tried a 6mm thick 7075 chassis - which is fine if you like heavy tanks. It doesn't need any braces at all. It could probably be bent in a 20t press 😅 It's still not heavy enough to cause suspension problems but it does look empty w/o the braces. The AUS dollar being toilet paper, import taxes, & no parts must really be making the hobby hard for you guys. Over here, thanks to the Hobbico stuff, we had nothing (parts, cars, info) for 3-4 months. I can only imagine what it was like there. Hopefully it gets better there soon.
NO ONE does as good of a job as YOU VAS!! THE BEST... UNBOXINGS, REVIEWS AND RUNNING VIDEOS ON UA-cam PERIOD!!! Your opinion is always appreciated and always relevant!!! Excellent work!! I do hope Arrma and Horizon can sort out these bugs and get these vehicles back on par. Tho I'm not optimistic about that. Just look at the whole "Tenacity" line from Losi. All plagued with electronic and other durability issues. As well as the 3xle MT ... Diff issues and HOT electronics...... I guess time will tell.
Thank you, Vas, for providing this honest review. It's a shame that Arrma didn't equip these V4 trucks with aluminum chassis braces instead of the tower-to-tower brace. It seems the cost would have been fairly similar. Ironically, the T-to-T brace appears to breaking the plastic chassis braces. Arrma's going to have to address this.
Bravo!! 👏👏 Bravo!! 👏👏 Thank you for such a great review and for pointing out how horrible the Spektrum Radio is. Great job Vas!!! Don't ever stop making videos. Your channel is the BEST RC channel on UA-cam!! Arrma / Horizon, please get rid of that radio!!!!!
My LHS has already sold a V4 Typhon, has a V4 Talion and the full range of 3s/4s in stock, so the only reason I can think of for a delay in Kraton V4 is larger markets than ours sucking up supply. You can’t really blame Arrma for making such a popular product, and this isn’t restriction unprecedented with the woes they have had. As an aside though, this review definitely puts to bed the notion that you don’t highlight the negative points 👍
I vote for another interview at the end of the year with Jason Dearden. Would love more input from him and maybe feature some of his design team and company transparency vs consumer feedback.
I've never had an arrma Servo fail and they're so cheap you can get them for $14 online. I had my doubts because everyone says that they're bad but I'm impressed. I bought them for a few of my non-arrma cars. And as far as the radio goes this is the first rc I have had to switch my radio out on. Absolutely Horrible reception for me. Never had problems like that with any other car I've ever had.
Vincent Smet I just had my v3 kraton servo fail a week ago from the front very lightly taping a tree when I lost control doing donuts on 4s, though it has been almost a year since I got it so I’m not that hurt that it failed, though I am hurt that it failed from such a little bump considering that I have done 10-15 feet jumps probably 5ish times and of course the first couple of week after I got it and hit street curbs almost full speed on 4s a couple of times since the power was to new to me
OP Airsoft everything has its limits, you probably did unseen damage with the other incidents. My ADS-15 was similar, plenty of abuse, then stripped the gears doing figure eights on grass. Easy to fix though.
Well done brother. Very well covered review on the V4 Kraton. I don't mind "Change" but it must be for the betterment and positive outcome not negative and issues. I hope they'll address the radio issue with the V4 line. T2T brace sounds good and looks good but if you think and look a bit deeper on what the issue and what you are trying to protect the T2T in my honest opinion is Not the right choice or option to take. Better quality or thicker chassis or aluminum chassis braces has to be considered a better option. Hopefully parts availability ramps up soon especially where you are brother. I applaud Arrma for all the improvements done on the V4 line and the 3S and 4S Rigs. Arrma RC a truly basher at Heart company.
I also miss being able to drive the car one handed like with the tactic radio. Sounds dumb but it bugs me ha ha. I agree with you on the radio. I LOVED the tactic remote. Was a little disappointed. But it does at least do the job. Good range, added features etc.
If you put a capacitor on the aux receiver port it solves most of the signal drop outs and glitches etc. Electric motors and escs can pull large loads and cause momentary current spikes which cause the receiver to reboot. Capacitors are used in all electric cars, helis and drones to filter the noise.
I totally agree with you , I'm in the USA Chicago area and we have lost a lot of Arrma fans with all the new changes , lack of parts and that cheap ass radio . You can get a losi for $249 and they give you a 6 channel receiver with AVC wtf . I try not to say negative things but every since the merger I've noticed a change on durability and still waiting on optional parts .
Aussie RC Just getting back into RC and must say I love your reviews. So detailed and informative. Keep up the good work and thank you. Also love your collection!
Awesome review Vas. Thanks for keeping it honest and legit. I hope Arrma realizes you speak for all of us and takes the criticism positively and addresses the issues.
Vas brother , another stellar review and great video love the brutal truth keeping it💯. I can’t imagine driving one of my many arrmas with out my tactic ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
I think the problem with the T2T brace is that it needs a structural support in the middle. Or to save all that time and effort with re-engineering, remove it entirely and have alloy chassis braces as standard
Thumbs up for a very reasoned review. A lot of us don't do the jumping you do, live in the USA and would naturally/understandably figure a higher value for the Kraton 6S.
Your review is exactly what I was thinking, I will be waiting for new versions to be released before buying more from Arrma In Australia. I really hope Arrma take notice of this and other videos posted recently. I will be looking at alternative brands for my family in the meantime. Great video, thank you 👌
Thank you for your comment, although I wasn't expecting people to be drawn away from the brand because of this review. If you like what ARRMA do and their motives in the hobby, not supporting them will not help either. And I don't thing that a couple of negative points about one of their cars justifies blacklisting the brand.
@@AussieRCPlayground I am certainly not blacklisting this awesome brand, I am not prepared to pay such a high price for this car then have to invest in a more suitable radio, chasis braces etc as soon as I get it home. We have just Purchased the new Talion and love the car, Arrma is still an awesome product but as you have been pointing out they could improve in certain areas. Horizon don't just make the Arrma branded cars and I will be looking at their alternatives for now.
They need to connect that red rod to the chasiss somewhere in the middle with some aluminum support, another small red rod that will act like a shock tower... The question is whether the bigger red rod will flexed with the chassis because of that, and then the rod itself will bend.... And that is not good lol
I've noticed the cheap spektrum radios make the cars feel light as a feather. They just feel weird. I have the stock cheap spektrum radio on my Baja Rey and it makes the thing feel insanely light, which it isn't, it's a heavy truck. They just don't feel good when you drive with those radios. Because then I switch over to the Typhon with the Tactic radio and it feels way better, granted it's a different car, it shouldn't feel like I don't want to drive my Baja Rey anymore because the radio is garbage. I don't like those cheap Spektrum radios. I'm there with you on that one!
Interesting that you mention this because the Spektrum radio does kinda make me feel the Kraton is lighter than it is. I don't know how or why this happens but I've absolutely noticed the same thing.
@@squeezablemayonnaise8904 Somewhere I saw mention and link of a stiffer trigger spring for at least RadioLink that can be fitted. It was on Razor RC channel but I can't seem to find it anymore. I think it's sold at Alibaba or similar slow boat. As soon as I find it I'll order some ...under $1 maybe for four springs.
Enjoyed the review mate, excellently done as usual. Being 1 of those early mt4 G3 owners... I did run two chassis at one point and a tower to tower brace hahahah and then innovative-rc here in the UK came up with a proper chassis and all was sorted for £65 i think it was, and a beautiful chassis that was too.... made the whole car feel like quality rather than rtr. Back to the Kraton... I am going to own an arrma soon!... have to try it, but the bending chassis thing is a bit of a shame.... the price point is the reason though as u point out... to keep that reasonable price something has to give. The way arrma keeps its nose to the ground and keeps making improvements deserves massive respect. Radio though.... must be a horizon hobby deal behind that 1!... a shame as it looks and as u say feels very poor. well done mate. Thumbs UP!
great that you pointed out the servo. I never had an issue with the steering servo the only time i had issue with the servo is when my coworker cranked the dual rate up and stripped it out. if that didnt happen i wouldve still been running my stock steering servo in my 2018 Outcast. My Kraton V4 is still running stock eletrics minus the radio. The chassis does bend but i just use the M2C chassis and its dialed.
100% agree with everything you said Vas! You really give great detail in your unboxigs and reviews 👍👍 I actually spotted that chassis bend in your running video and commented about it. I was wondering why you didn't reply and now I know why 🤣🤣 I personally upgrade to aluminum chassis braces and aluminum servo mount in all my Arrma's. And now that there are awesome options for 4mm 7075 chassis! I have 3 right now, lol!
Hey man I have this truck I hate the radio but Separately everyone talks about the 50/75/100 switch when the throttle rate knob dies the same thing I can just turn the knob down when handing off to my kids and turn the power down as much as I want. Second this radio uhg I feel like just like you said such a disconnect I feel like the throttle trigger is just I don't know different every time sometimes I barely touch the trigger and my truck does a back flip sometimes I have to give it full throttle and a second later the truck finally goes that's why I just put flysky in all my arrmas . I wish they would just add 1mm thickness to the chassis on the kraton being so long! Then I wouldn't have to spend 3 hundred dollars on a machined aluminum aftermarket chassis
Good review yet again Vas. Sad to see some people think the world is ending for Arrma based on this review. Makes no sense. Even with the problems there are a number of serious improvements and it is still better than Traxxas. The issues simply move it back closer to the pack IMO but definitely not at the back of the pack by a long way. The V4 is still a good car and there aren’t a lot of options that are better...again IMO.
Well done video, and I'm impressed with your honesty. I know how hard it is to bite the hand that feeds. IMO, the reason people complain about the STX2 is because the Tactic was such a good RTR radio. But if you look at every other RTR radio from the other companies, they all suck. TQi, DX2E, Associated XP120, Kyosho Synchro-whatever, Redcat radios are a joke... the STX2 is really no worse than the lot of them.
Thank you for explaining the chassis issue...I think it's completely unexceptable to have to buy a ton on voltage hobbies and a M2C chassis the first run when the chassis bends...
Real honest review. Wasn’t expecting a 74% score. When I recently got my Outcast I was suprised to see the chassis doesn’t bottom out when the suspension is fully compressed. Luckily I never jump my cars that high so I think it will not be that kind of problem to myself. I sold the tx right away. Didn’t like the feel of it too. Thanks for another awesome review.
Well it doesn’t. Maybe if I press real hard, but that more due to the deformation of the tires perhaps. It’s mainly the front side that’s difficult to bottem out.
Embarrassing to be honest. The v2 outcast is on sale for 389$ us and so many people bought the v3 to end up with a shit vehicle that costs 150$ more. I’ve been trying to tell people about these flaws and to just buy the previous version. Glad to see you have arrma proper shit for there mistakes. Like you said horizon hobby really dropped the ball on this. I said they should have just made the same truck and fixed the rear gear box assembly and servo needed more torque and would have been brilliant with the never pop off hardware. Thanks for the in depth review as always great vids
I purchased a V4 Typhon and the Spektrum transmitter/ reciever combos are garbage. Throttle sticks and loses range quickly. Returned it for a V3 Kraton and never looked back. Absolute beast.
Also bro take a look at the 4s kraton tower to tower brace compared to the 6s kraton brace they should switch them the 4s kraton brace has an adjustable collar with a rubber spacer to take the flex instead of being hard all the way through like on the 6s please take a look if you haven't already. Thanks man 👍
I think they should sack off the alloy chassis completely and make the 1/8 scales like the 1/10 scales. I just dont get why they are still doing it. My xmaxx chassis is plastic and it gets punished but its not broken or bent. My granite chassis never broke or bent either.
Russell Parker Lord have mercy you did NOT just mention the Xmaxx 😂😂😂 dont you know this is Arrma country Mr. Parker? That plastic Xmaxx chassis is far stronger than this tin can aluminum chassis that Arrmas come with! I love my Talion after spending 2,000 dollars in upgrades 😂😂😂 I loved it in stock form as well but now its not really a Talion anymore!! 🤣🤣 It can keep up with the Xmaxx as far as strength! Not everyone has to go crazy with it like I did but these cars definitely need some major upgrades if you want to go superbash crazy!! The xmaxx...new esc just in case that Velineon catches on fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@JapanRCAdventuresS oh my esc cought on fire TURNED OFF!!! my 5yo was stood a few feet away too. Only issue ive had with the xmaxx apart from the micro hub bearings lol. Its took one hell of a beating. By the way im am not a Traxxas fanboy, Traxxas is overpriced overmarketed average quality gear imo. Who releases a 1000 pound rc that catches fire and the bearings collapse after 4 runs? What a joke. Always prefered Arrma more. Im really liking the look of the Kraton/Outcast 4s atm.
Russell Parker you know, it’s ok to like more than just one brand of RC guys, just saying. Even this here channel has had X-Maxx running videos, and one in Race Wars, it did surprisingly well as I recall.
@@rsoul7282 every rc seems to have issues too. I really love driving the xmaxx its a lot of fun but on the other hand i love the different experience that you get from the arrma stuff. As long as your enjoying the hobby its worth the small issues. Esc on fire has left me very sour with traxxas atm, its dangerous and they need to address it. By the looks of it the replacement they send is just the same esc so they're not doing anything about it which isnt giving them a good impression from the consumer. ✌👍
Vas.. Can you please do your favourite top 5 bashers or 1/8 basher/jumpers to date 2021.. We all appreciate your opinion and it would be highly appreciated.. Thankyou kindly Peter 🙂
Update the chassis with a 7075 version and charge an extra $50 bucks. The chassis has been a problem on the long wheel base cars in particular since the beginning. Great car otherwise.
I disagree. Not had any problems with any of my chassis in the past other than the sag that occurs, which is normal. The problem in this case isn't the chassis, it's the T2T brace. So why be forced to pay more money again to fix a problem that's not there?
Awesome review my friend that t2t brace does scare me a little all the ones ive put in has a little play in it. I don't know if my rear diff is gonna like it lol happy bashing my brotha👍😎🙈🙉🙊👊✌
I've had nothing but trouble with my rear diff. Ring gear, output gear, bearing collapsed, pins breaking, 3 times I've rebuilt it now the car is only 3 weeks old. Arrma has sent me a new diff so this one is getting shimmed with my own pins. Hopefully won't happen again. Great review! And yeh I swapped out my radio straight away!!
@@munkskyline17 I bought a goolrc one off eBay, brand new for around £18. 10 times better than the spektrum. Plus you can get 2 more receivers for £10 so I run my other rc's off the same radio now. Here's the item number 401627780205. Its a good radio
Great review again. You are spot on with the parts supply for these trucks. I bought the 4S recently and have needed some spares and it’s been so slow to get parts. Very frustrating having spent the money only to have it sit on the shelf. Coming across from a Traxxas it’s not a great experience.
Great review and thanks for the good and simple explanations. Looking at getting the new Notorious myself, will this be impacted the same as the Kraton or will the shorter wheelbase help it from bending so easily with the added t2t brace?
Well... E-revo 2.0 it is than I guess 🤣 Great review as allways Vas. At somepoint I was feeling your dying inside while giving the low scores to it. Spot on, I agree with every single point you made. P.s.: I would bet on anything that the next chassis in the V5 is going to be plastic
I love the e Revo look but at it's heart it's still the same e Revo - expensive and built to repair constantly. Everyone I know with one likes it but they still seem to have to fix something about every time they go out. It's like a Traxxas truck that's not a slash isn't fully ready until everything had been swapped with rpm parts.
@@dis3nchant3d42 As soon you change the stock layout of a truck, you put more stress on certain parts then they were designed for. My V2 Kraton has not one single original/stock part on it. Same is true for my V1 E-revo. If you bash it hardcore you have to upgrade it. And this is fine with me. The main reason why Kyosho, Losi etc don't outsell Traxxas & Arrma is because there is not much possibility -because of the lack of upgradable parts- to tweek upgrade them. The 1/8 scale Arrma is fun because of the loads of aftermarket parts you can get to make the truck look your own, handle your own driving style. I like a well built stock truck, but I will never have so much fun with those, compared to the upgradeable ones. Evolution and evolving IS FUN. And this is why I personally am into Rc-ing.
Damn.. i really like to see you talking about the cars, thx for the review and keep doing the great work. Off topic: Where is the senton 1/6 scale and the Arrma anti-X-Maxx? X-maxx needs competition eheh.
Great job, Vas. I hope this makes Horizon think. Their range of "cheap" radios should be completely taken off the market. Just rebrand a FS-GT2 or someting and be done with it if you can't produce a decent entry level radio yourselves. Also, a 6 month wait period? How many people will get another truck and forget about Arrma in that time? Jeez. By the way, this should silence any geniuses that claim you get paid by Arrma for the reviews nad therefore aren't objective... :)
Thank you Nino. Yes, I've been called biased, I've been accused of working for ARRMA and/or being paid by them and been made to feel like anything positive I say about these cars is invalid because of the above-mentioned reasons. I've always been honest in the reviews I do regardless of brand, so thank you for noticing and for your great comment about the car. 😊👍
heck horizon should just put their name on a dumbo rc and it would be better. that whatever that thing in the box was. Heck im running that cheap radiolink 6 channel radio and its amazing. compared to stock
Hello! Exactly! The part In France are rarely in stock and that is the major problem for Arrma. They have to react quickly for the part are available in Europe and other country as well! We have to tell us that in Arrma forum or another way to tell us that big problem. I think, if customers of Arrma tell us the problem, i hope they react quickly, i hope .... Beautiful video! PS : Sorry for my bad English :)
That’s it I selling all my Arrmas 😆 Great review Vas !! The very first thing I do is swap out the chassis braces. Nothing worse than breaking the plastic ones and no knowing until the chassis is like a tacos 🌮 Dam she’s a good looking rig 😁
Late to the party but I just got a Kraton. I love it being a crawler guy it’s more then enough power for me but that radio what a disappointment it is. Easy enough to change but I expected a bit better.
I would have to agree that the Tactic radio system is much better. Those cheap Spektrum radios with the plastic wheel are pretty crummy. Also I think the range was better with the Tactic stuff. I don’t know why they are switching up the radio systems at all? It doesn’t make me wanna but an rtr now because I don’t want that radio. I think that transmitter or a very similar one came with my Losi 5ive-T rtr and that rc was way too expensive to have such a cheap feeling radio.
In 2017, this got a 5/5 on durability. Is it really just the center rod that actually made it less durable to a point where it got deducted to 3/5? I'm having a harder and harder time deciding between Kraton and Notorious. I like the wheelie-ability of the short wheel base of the Notorious, but seems like handling on Kraton is better based on the styling. I currently only have a Big Rock. Which do you think would be better for me. I'm not looking for more of the same. The Big Rock handles well as it's a long wheelbase (similar to the Kraton), yet it's a monster truck style (similar to Notorious). What else should I be asking myself to pick? I know I want a 6S and one of these two.
Disagree on the easy to work on part, I know for a fact the Kraton wins that round by a mile. One thing you forgot to mention is the X-Maxx is $1450 here and requires $400 worth of batteries to run, not exactly a fair comparison for either car. Plus, the X-Maxx is made by a company that shall not be named, so yeah... No thanks.
Aussie RC Playground oh jeez didn’t know they were that expensive there. It’s cheap here so I sold 2 trucks that kept breaking to get the xmaxx that i haven’t broken anything on for 3 weeks so far. Doing good.
No doubt they are tough trucks, but getting more expensive every year and are now priced in 1/5 scale territory... I once wanted to get one, but far too expensive now and I think there are better bang for buck RCs out there.
Aussie RC Playground yeah traxxas is super over priced. Just paying for the name tbh. But I buy traxxas because they stock a lot of parts at my hobby store and it’s easy to put upgrades on and fix stuff. Plus they have super super good customer service. But they have terrible quality control lol. They aren’t the best but they aren’t the worst. Might consider getting an Kraton in the future.
What would be the best material to make the chassis out of? Chrome molley? There's a welding shop by where i live & they got a water jet for cutting out parts.
Yeah, I tossed that radio across the parking lot and straight into the skip. Put in a DSMR reciever and used my DX5C, much better control. I Blew both the front tires after 2 packs though and I try not to balloon tires too much. Put Badlands MX tires on there and I can do backflips and stupid stuff without blowing tires. I dunno, those tires just don't hold up for the intended use of the truck.
I'm yet to blow mine up or hear anyone else complain about them. Maybe you used them in harsh terrain or were you intentionally trying to blow them up?
@@AussieRCPlayground it's always possible I hit something on the ground I didn't see, just thought it was odd I blew both out. Like I said I'm usually careful not to balloon my tires too much. So either I got an iffy set or it was just bad luck driving at the track that day. Either way the badlands I have absolutely been abusing and they are holding up. I'd like to try out the stock tires taped or threaded. They are a nice compound and tread they just balloon a little too easily for my comfort. Going to get a set of backflips and try those out too see what I like best.
I have a corally punisher on 6s with bigger steel spur 52T with steel spur pinion 15T my best pass on radar gun with gen 5000 50 C battery was 81mph or 129kmh on new road in overcast weather 19 degrees not bad my runs were 77mph,79mph,79mph,81mph,78mph,74mph,73mph,76mph not bad the motor was just a little warm and the battery 🔋 was dying I'm planing of putting a heatsink on top of the motor what do you think?
I think you're reviews really help with buyer confidence when looking to buy some of these models. What transmitter would you recommend buying as a good replacement for the poor stock item?
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Do you think it's worth throwing in an old arrma Nero radio system in one of these new 2019 model arrmas? I just finally gave up on maintaining my Nero, stripped it for parts people might want and have the radio and rx still. Should I swap it when the new car (talion v4) comes in?
Wow. I'm less bummed now for having bought the V3 in December :) I agree about parts availability. I'm in Japan and have found no online stores here with parts (but I knew that before I purchased). I order from the USA. Both Horizon and now Tower charge a minimum of $35 to ship even one part. Tower just changed from $6 in April. So... I'm absolutely farked if I can't find a part from another online store with reasonable shipping costs. I just bought an Outcast 4s and broke an A Arm first time out. I could order from Amain but they aren't carrying A Arms for the new Outcast 4s. Hopefully RPM will put some out soon. Makes me wonder if Horizon is stuffing Amain on purpose or not. I'm not paying $43 for one set of A arms. I found them elsewhere for $8 shipping (and my fix is still holding). Oh, and it SUCKS that Arrma didn't include a loop for the Outcast/Kraton 4s. I had to order from China since they were out of stock online everywhere I checked in the USA.
I considering to buy an Arrma kraton. Is it smart to buy the kraton V3 so you will have an tactic radio. And then buy the tower to tower brace as a spare part and install it?
Put some bead rolls in that chassis and the rigidity would be increased significantly, which would keep them from having to increase the aluminum thickness.
Aussie RC Playground It is a simple process of rolling a groove in the metal which increases the strength of sheet metal. This has been done in race car floor pans for forever. Look up bead rolling metal on UA-cam, you’ll get the picture. 👍🏻 there was a video I watched years ago where a floor pan was being made and the fabricator showed how a sheet of metal wouldn’t support over 50 lbs.. then he put in three bead rolls and he stacked like 300 or 400 lbs on it.
Wow that looks so good, I want one, waiting for a no radio version for $500.00 and I am sold. I use carbon kite rods for chassis braces, there strapped to the front, middle!!! and rear. Still has some flex. Also did some body mods and other things. It's been working for us. I will do a video this weekend on what works for us. They are working on our v3 Kraton and Senton. they were all mostly free mods.. I replaced our radio before we even drove the V4 Typhon. My 15 year old Losi radios are way nicer than this new radio, go figure 🏁🏁👍👻👻🏁..PS, I was suspicious of that brace causing a problem, metal isn't always the best thing to help, some flex is ok,even good in some cases. Thank you so much.👍👻👻👻👻👍
This is by far the best, most objective and fairest review of that car - not so much brand-driven and more (too) forgiving like others.
I seen guy put two together 6mm and lower center gravity
Arrma should consider a kit version or roller version. Some of us old farts enjoy the build as much as the driving.
I second this.
Yes!
Jason Dearden worked at HPI. the Savage SS kit was awesome. Came with some nice upgrades too
Agreed. A kit with a 7075 chassis would be fantastic.
Yes PLEASE!!
Rich Duperbash ur the best Rich! U and Vas r tops 💯
@@tommyd3jr thanks Brother 👊
I'll always support and stand by #ArrmaTough
👍💪👌🍻😊
Aussie RC
Just getting back into RC and must say I love your reviews. So detailed and informative. Keep up the good work and thank you. Also love your collection!
Thank you very much, glad you're enjoying the content. 😊
My exact thoughts as well. 👍😊
@@AussieRCPlayground
I am certainly not blacklisting this awesome brand, I am not prepared to pay such a high price for this car then have to invest in a more suitable radio, chasis braces etc as soon as I get it home. We have just Purchased the new Talion and love the car, Arrma is still an awesome product but as you have been pointing out they could improve in certain areas. Horizon don't just make the Arrma branded cars and I will be looking at their alternatives for now.
I love the honesty great job vas!!!
@@crimsonfancy I think it's just because the trigger is so light.
As always Vas great review and spot on👍👍
100% agree with everything you said Vas!
Now you can cut the front and rear tabs off the old chassis and use them as skid plates to protect the new one.
I like the old flip wheel radios they had at first
Good review yet again Vas.
Fantastic the old vas is back love it
I agree with your scores bro and that transmitter is crap!!
In my opinion the TTX 300 was a much superior transmitter!!
I strongly prefer the traxxas tqi
Vas... Very well put brother as always!! Your spot on with the RC and what needs to be taken into account with the small imperfections.
Damn! This is now making me second-guess my order for the 6S. It'll arrive at the end of June 2020.
The transmitter / controller is scaring me off from finalizing my purchase.
Thank you for explaining the chassis issue...I think it's completely unexceptable to have to buy a ton on voltage hobbies and a M2C chassis the first run when the chassis bends...
My granite is down right now so i borrowed its transmitter and now i really injoy this Truck
What? If it doesn't bottom out when you fully compress the shocks something is wrong.
Well it doesn’t. Maybe if I press real hard, but that more due to the deformation of the tires perhaps. It’s mainly the front side that’s difficult to bottem out.
Nice review! Love all the vids! Random note, I like how you shoot in 50p not 60p!
Nice review Vas, I paid near 900$ in Canada, I put M2C chassis with HR brace, HR arm mount and TTX300 transmitter :)
Good information. Unbiased and true. Thank you for going into the detail about the chassis.
Thank you so much for the feedback and support. Glad you enjoyed the video. 😊👍
You're welcome :) Just curious, have you ever done a review on the eRevo 2.0? I'm trying to decide between that one and the Kraton.
@@AussieRCPlayground Thanks for the response Vas, but we'll have to agree to disagree there.

I've had nothing but trouble with my rear diff. Ring gear, output gear, bearing collapsed, pins breaking, 3 times I've rebuilt it now the car is only 3 weeks old. Great review again. You are spot on with the parts supply for these trucks. I bought the 4S recently and have needed some spares and it’s been so slow to get parts. Very frustrating having spent the money only to have it sit on the shelf. Coming across from a Traxxas it’s not a great experience.
My only complaint as a light basher was the "never tight" servo saver. I wish i didnt know what a circlip is now
Great review and thanks for the good and simple explanations. Looking at getting the new Notorious myself, will this be impacted the same as the Kraton or will the shorter wheelbase help it from bending so easily with the added t2t brace?
Well... E-revo 2.0 it is than I guess 🤣
Great review as allways Vas.

Hi I like your videos thay are really helpful I broke down and ordered the kraton 6s v4 with some mods is this truck super fast tank you
Great job, Vas.
Late to the party but I just got a Kraton. I love it being a crawler guy it’s more then enough power for me but that radio what a disappointment it is. Easy enough to change but I expected a bit better.
Love all your videos but to much Arrma rc cars were are the nitro or monster trucks or Basher will be waiting
Don't do nitro, sorry. Had one once and it was enough to last me a lifetime.
Great review, have a sub. Definitely sold me on the Kraton.
Have a Spektrum DX5 pro and found out it won't bind to the srx200 that comes in the Kraton. Have to buy another receiver. Ridiculous. Thanks Spektrum.
Great job a fair review
Nice video bro!
I'm still bashing my Yeti XL and slash 4x4 with no broken parts yet!
Thank you for this information. 👍
Excellent reviews, my friend.😊 😎 👍 Yvan
Just get an xmaxx. Parts available. Super durable. Easy to work on. Super powerful. And it’s HUGE.
WE ARE WAITING for YOUR MAXX (1/10) REVIEW!!!
That's never gonna happen, sorry.
I’ve got a kraton v4 last year,,,,and it came with the tactic system,,,,,just wondering why 🇺🇸👈
I think you're reviews really help with buyer confidence when looking to buy some of these models.
What transmitter would you recommend buying as a good replacement for the poor stock item?
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Great review 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Do you think it's worth throwing in an old arrma Nero radio system in one of these new 2019 model arrmas? I just finally gave up on maintaining my Nero, stripped it for parts people might want and have the radio and rx still. Should I swap it when the new car (talion v4) comes in?
Wow. I'm less bummed now for having bought the V3 in December :)
I agree about parts availability.
SO IS THIS Truck worth buying IF i buy 1 WILL i have alot of problems with this Truck TROY Flanagan
Nice vid
do the tires come separate on this truck meaning no rims glued to them?? will these 6s shocks fit the 4s truck?
I considering to buy an Arrma kraton. Is it smart to buy the kraton V3 so you will have an tactic radio. And then buy the tower to tower brace as a spare part and install it?
Put some bead rolls in that chassis and the rigidity would be increased significantly, which would keep them from having to increase the aluminum thickness.
What's a "bead roll"? I don't understand what you're saying... Sorry.
Thats actually a really good idea and cost should stay the same. Minus the labor involved
I agree with your score friend. Good job!!!!!
Iam new to this hobby, what is a decent Australian RC forum to learn more.
Thank you so much.👍👻👻👻👻👍
I got same rig vas like you kinda wanted red but figured change it up my bike is red and truck
Awsome review ,I'd like to see your review on the losi lst 3xl-e
