I worked in a theatre troupe for a couple years, and the part that got me this time was at about 10:10 or so, when Shatner and McDowell are in their skivvies, counting out their blocking and doing the moves. I've been there a million times on the side of a stage or sitting in the seats waiting to go on, and it's such a neat thing to see folks I have so much respect for as craftsmen doing something so human. Thank you so much for putting this up!
Cool! It is nice to hear Jerry Goldsmith's scores from "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" in this rare video (narrated by the late Don LaFontaine), even though Dennis McCarthy scored "Generations",incorporated just Alexander Courage's original series fanfare to that score. Thanks for posting! Live long and propser! Greetings to you and yours in the United Kingdom from the United States of America!
I had one of these tapes, instead of it coming with a paper someone was handing them out at the local mall in Australia, About 6.20 the special effects guy says "My God the ships going to be destroooyed" made a Sound event for emptying the recycle bin from that back then.
Yeah. Principal photography is done. Abrams is putting together a rough edit & effects teams are working their magic as I write this. Very exciting. I enjoyed the new movie, mostly because of Nimoy. He'll be in the next one too. I can't wait to see how Benedict Cumberbatch approaches Khan. It's bound to be a favorite. I haven't warmed to new Enterprise yet: Warp nacelles are too big- looks top-heavy. Shouldn't have rocket flares- there's no combustion in warp flight! Cheers from U.S.!
I loved Star Trek The Next Generation and enjoyed watching this film in theaters as I was excited to see TNG on the big screen. However, it doesn’t hold up over time. The film has an hilariously high number of major plot holes. Which Red Letter Media dis a great job poking fun of it for that reason. The 2nd TNG film involving the Borg was more enjoyable.

"and storys of hope for the future" yep...that essentially summuns up star trek, until j.j. cam on and destroyed that sentence...what's left is some sci-fi popcorn movie, with very nice effects, some famous names and a hollow story, wich isn't star trek...and for me as a hardcore-technical trekkie, it's insulting to be left with a movie thats more fiction than science, because star trek everytime was more science then fiction...(even if those where only science theorys....). I like Generations.
"It's a story that takes place in many different areas of our galaxy" What are you talking about, Rick Berman? I swear sometimes, the things this guy says make me wonder if he's ever watched any of the things he's produced. Every time, there's some little headscratcher he'll manage to utter, as if to screw with us. lol
When a single episode is about 45 minutes, why jump ship at season 7 to make only slightly longer films that are barely TNG anyway? They should have just made another season. Sigh. All about the money. There were endless untold stories that could have been produced.
This just goes to show how everybody seemed to have the right intentions here, but the end result just didn't deliver. This is like the ultimate Trek "if only they had" moment. Take a look at the trailers- it suggests both Enterprise crews are working together on their respective ships to thwart a danger of galactic proportions... THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE MOVIE, instead we have cooking w/the Cap'ns & some weird Nexus thing that makes no sense. Disappointing movie, but THIS is a great find.

A trick: watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Damon Holden definitely, I've been using Flixzone} for since november myself :)
@Damon Holden Yea, been using flixzone} for since november myself :D
Incredible Make Up and Models, Sets and Special Effects
No wonder the saucer crash looks so real, it IS real. Miniatures always look better than cgi IMO.
Best line of the movie is from Data before the crash: "Ho-ly SHIT"
Malcolm Mcdowell is an excellent actor.Glad they brought him aboard.
An ignoble death for a literal ship of dreams. NCC-1701D died way before her time.
Yer thay should never of Destroyed Enterprise D
I love Star Trek The Next Genaretion

Just can't take that serious with the Honest Trailers voice, lol.
I miss VHS
MZITinfo I still watch it!
You just need an old big tv and vcr..whalla. ebay or thrift stores.
You might want to correct that description. No way this freebie could have been given away in 1993, filming hadn't even began. 1994 yes, 1993 no.

I think this movie is under-rated, too much focus on Kirk's death

Well he's not wrong so what's the problem?

Jeremy Johnson Right? Law & Order did it.
Actually by Season 7 it was obvious TNG was running out of ideas.
Season 7 was the worst but there was no way they could of done Season 8 even if they had ideas.

first contact is shit.
This should never have been released, it spoils the entire movie.
Starfleet2360 thats why you wait till you have actually watched the movie then watch these making of docs.
Starfleet2360 lol.dumbass. It's called behind the scenes. Were you born yesterday?
