"Your pump is like tomorrow. And you can never reach tomorrow because once it's tomorrow, then it's today again. But you'll never stop chasing tomorrow because you always want to live another day and tomorrow never dies."
-Dom BroScienceLife
Not quite. Many people don't want to just keep getting bigger and bigger. They have an ideal around where they'll be happy and maintain.
@@KGS922he was quoting brosciencelife. Stfu
This sounds like something Kamala Harris would say
Like some James bond shit 😂
Just seeing Alex’s giddy smile before saying “The Pump Preview” made this clip inspiring haha
ricky dicky doo dah smile
For me it's not the pump at all, it's the mental improvement and how much better i feel after 20 minutes into the workout,i have serious depression and physical exercise forces my brain to release neurotransmitters that I dont get Normally
Facts, looking good and getting strong is a side effect of my depression medication...... which is the gym!
Solid take 👏 this is why it’s so positively addictive
Gosh, this man is articulate
He’s also a bit of a waffler
He's been working on it 💪
He’s highly regarded
True. And it’s also one of the best places for mental health
it's also the reason why so many people don't succeed.. quitting after 3 weeks because there's no visible reward.
People are conditioned to chase the destination rather than engage with the journey. When the process becomes a reward unto itself success laggedly follows.
Exactly how i feel every workout. Consistency is tough but i always thank myself after working out even if i did not feel like doing it in the first place.
climbing mountains. climbing a mountain, to me, is the most gratifying activity I do. It's a literal obstacle than can I can overcome with effort and diligence. the peak is in sight, there is only one way to get there, all you have to do is begin.
You ever climbed Mt Fuji? Hardest thing I ever did in 45 yrs. Little, old, Japanese ladies walking past me with their arms behind their backs like its a walk in the park was also the most humbling thing ever.
@@dannydriggers8214 Were you able to get the “Walking Stick” that you can have engraved on the ascent up the mountain at each stage ?
The part that amazed me the most, was it too so many hours to climb up the mountain and yet just a little over an hour to get down😅
“A pump is winning the blood lottery…
but it’s a scratch off and you won just enough to buy tomorrow’s ticket”
-Dom BroScienceLife
Jamme ja
That's a very creative metaphor
A hobby with free clairvoyance. That's a good selling point.
I take the bus home after the gym, after work 😓My pumped reflection I see in the hard glass windows is what makes it worth it all
Most eloquent gym bro chat ever
Nice perspective
Nope. When I first came to Korea and starting learning the language, I said, 'blahblahblah, hdhfodhgdhflshs to a taxi driver,' and he actually understood me and went where I needed to go. It told me that if I just memorized 3 things/day, I'll be able to say 1000 things after one year. Just like your pump feeling.
I think it also has a lot to do with feelings induced by your biochemistry after a tough session. It's very quick feedback in that regard as well.
The issue is, you never get there… but it doesn’t stop you from trying
You obviously have no idea what he’s saying 😂
There's something to it, but it would be a fair analogy if you were comparing Duolingo to your first times going to gym. But then it wouldn't be as compelling probably :)
On the other hand it is such a satisfying feeling when you, completely unexpectedly to yourself, hold a decent conversation in a foreign language for the first time. You then have a glimpse of what you will be in a x-months time.
Agreed.
So true! Love it
Its not, learning a language can give the same feeling. He probably never has .
@@mrsensei8878 As someone who has don't both, I absolutely agree with him 100%
The "Pump preview" is my new favorite phrase 😂
Faith, Hope, and Love above all this is LOVE ❤🎉😊
Instant gratification and delayed gratification at the same time
Same. Perpetual goal.
I spent many hours in the gym, but how I looked was never a concern. I only wanted to build muscle so that I could not fall out of long hikes, & run faster on the physical fitness test.
I just wanted to be stronger
Well said ❤
Anybody else feel tired and like shit everywhere but the gym
Any hoby you do with a group is like this. You can see other people with more experience and know youll eventually get there. Treat gym like brushing your teeth. Its not an interesting hobby enough to make it your passion.
The only problem is, that if you are always "chasing de pump" you'll never be satisfied
Didn't Andrew Huberman say this exact thing on your podcast?
Yes, this EXACT same thing, including the contrasting analogy about learning a foreign 🤨
Mmm not true about the Spanish thing! While practicing I’ve hit the zone in conversation a few times, but the next time I spoke Spanish i was no longer able to hold a conversation any of the times. I like the overall point about the pump though
So true😂🔥
“You’ll never be as big as your pump”
"Pump Preview"
Yep! ♥️
And that’s the infinite loop♾️↔️🔜🆙🔝
Imagine getting philosophical about the fucking gym.
The after pump clarity depressing tho
What about golf surfing kite sailing dating a much younger woman horse riding do you think these activities might work too?😂😂
Stay puffy friends
Agreed
Sorry for a stupid question: what's that thing on Alex's nose?
Ego
Dopamine!!
Wait isn’t this wrong? If you learn a language you’ll forget most of it after an hour but right after the session you’re 3 months ahead of where you are after you forget most of it
A pump is not 9 months of work 💀💀
sadly it just chasing the horizon
Explain
@@96Llort you never achieve your pump, your muscles grow and your pump looks allways even better, harder you chase it the harder it runs away!
@@kaikkimoi ahh thanks, great point. That relates to another video I saw of his, the noblest pursuit of something is one which has no goal or end recognition; just hard work for the sake of it
@@kaikkimoiyou’re basically saying we can never be truly satisfied but we can get better along the journey. I agree
maybe he didn't ever learn a language lol Sometimes, people will use the words you know and for a few sec, you get a glimpse at how knowing a language is like.
Same thing with everything.
It's a shame that Chris is a massive juice head, but all that being said, I do wish him and the team nuttin' but the best

Dude needs to get the septum surgery already.
You mean like cooking, cleaning, gardening, reading, essentially any sport, competitive gaming… that took me 1 minute to think of. Yup, very few pursuits where you can get instant gratification and also see a long term improved version.
Perhaps you should stop looking in the mirror quite so much.
So you can’t use Duolingo to prompt and assist whilst you converse in Spanish, giving you a preview to what you’ll be able to do without Duolingo in the future?
What
🙋♀️
Wtf is he talking about biggest waffler ever
Esto es una tontería, mira lo bien que puedo hablar español después de un poco de práctica. Está bien, es broma, uso una aplicación de traducción.
Wrong
The stupidest thing I’ve ever heard from Chris. That’s because Chris sucks at learning languages and getting a pump has no impact on growth, shrimps get a pump too. I know exactly where I’m gonna be in 6 months in any language. Wtf Dude?
Wrong. WOMEN RUINED GYMS!
Cutest couple on the internet spaming out gayer than last time content.
Lmao yea if you have money steroids and good genetics.
That’s not true, you can get a very good physique if you stay consistent for many years and train properly without steroids. You don’t need good genetics or money to build tons of muscle. Most people just fall into “I have bad genetics” trap before they’re even able to tell how good or bad their genetics even are.
@@jorder most people still come out being upset because they have false views on what they are physically capable of achieving.
Keep making excuses while other men are busy winning 🤷♂️
I think Alex is cool but the guy is juiced to the point where he doesn’t need to know how to lift
