  • What’s up everybody. In today’s video I will be changing my CCV filter on my 2015 F350 Powerstroke myself. I got a recent code (P04DB) on my dash which means there is an issue with the filter. I called my local Ford dealership and they wanted $600 in labor plus the cost of the filter. I did not want to spend that much so I purchased a new CCV filter kit online and attempted it myself. It was not easy but it was not that hard either and it tooo me a couple hours being it was my first time. Overall, I think everything went pretty good and I saved a ton of money. Therefore, if your CCV filter is in need of being replaced, I highly suggest trying to do it yourself and save the money.

I just changed mine out yesterday on my 2012. Paid $150 for the filter at the stealership. Took about 4 hours, I’m 60 years old and not as agile as I use to be. Worse part was getting that hose off the valve cover. I took a large screwdriver and broke off the gray retainer to free it up. Also that far rear bolt is hard to replace. I taped the bolt to my socket with electrical tape, worked like a charm. Expect some bloody fingers and plenty of cuss words but it’s doable. I rewarded myself with some cold snack afterwards. Enjoyed the video!

If it were me, I'd put a tag in the turbo, just in case. Just remember to take it out.

Hey That New CCV Fliter is That New Style That Never Neeeds Replacing... There Is No Fliter In Side Just A Baffle System..

It’s actually the old style the newer 6.7 have the filter inside. Yes it’s just a baffle.

The original filter looked like it had a label on top. So maybe the label indicates it came from the factory. So if I don't have a label, maybe, it's been replaced at least once

I’d assume that but it’s possible the label just got old and fell off but I’d lean towards it was replaced.

I could not get a socket on the very back Bolt when installing. Very frustrating It’s hand tight for now.. maybe have to get a real tech to tighten it up. Will try again another time.

It takes a few extensions and some finesse but take your time and feel for it but you can do it.

@@DieselLegiance yea I tightened everything else so I think it’s good for now. I’ll give it another shot on the back bolt next weekend if theirs no leaking before then
