I totally agree. It's a gorgeous room overall, but the blue paint is way too bright for it!
I like the lighter blue in the closet, it makes it more open and appear larger. If it was the same color as the walls it would look darker and smaller, with or without a light on because there would always be shadows.
The blue in the closet isn’t Tiffany blue. The wall colour is iconic.

I love how adaptable you are to everyone’s style. Pro tip: if you want cleaner edges with a vinyl stencil, first paint on the background color so that’s what bleeds, then paint the color you want to see! 🖤

Before stippling go over over stencil first in your background color. Let it dry, then stencil in the color you want. You should not experience bleed through. Learned this trick from Ginger Chick on UA-cam. :)

Usually you say that Alexandra gater is more attuned to style while you're more diy, but I do find you more flexible in your designing. As a graphic designer, I have to ask the question: does the Cricut program have a kerning feature?

I hope she sees your comment. The A in Ada was so far away from the other two letters, that could have easily been fixed with kerning adjustment.
@@MadWatch I had a typography mentor that would say "you could drive a truck between those letters" 😆 I felt that might have been a bit too harsh in this situation.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Danie!! I am kind of starting life over again, at 65, and moved into my new home apartment 7 months ago. I have been binging YoutTube decorating, diy-ing, office make-overs, and so on. If I see one more video of beige, neutral, over-tufted, shiplap-laden spaces -- with rose gold everything -- I'm going to throw my computer against the wall. This makeover is beautiful, soothing but also energizing. I love this even more than your 2-part home-office makeover. You are gifted beyond words and I'm so grateful that you share your talent and abilities.

I believe this is your best make over to date (and it's not even my style!!)! Not only because the room looks nothing like in the beginning, but also because you ventured out of your personal taste to match that of this lady, and it was a festival of DIY Dance specialty (furniture building), thrifting and repurposing with troubleshooting when the (sometimes foreseen ;)) unforeseen struck. BRAVO!!!
I happened to be watching this video when my 7-year-old came in saying she couldn't sleep, so we watched this together. Now she is back to bed, cheered up and inspired to grow up to be a DIY-er!

Later on my Mom mounted on the wall like you did, but in the living room, feeling nostalgic. That mirror last for soooo long, until my Mom moved 3 yrs ago with us to the USA. 😉 waoo

I love your table saw. I love that you can wrangle it by your self. I don’t have one so I end up using a 4 foot level, clamps, a basic battery operated small skill saw and a quick hope that it all works.

I rarely see makeovers that match my style aesthetic but this one did just that so it was a pleasure to watch. I luuuv the vintage pieces and the fact that you integrated them into the design. And the mannequin DIY was just perfection! Personally I found the blue wall too bright and dominant but the client seemed to love it so that's all that matters in the end.

This turned out beautiful. It isn’t my style I’m more modern farmhouse neutral tones but I can absolutely appreciate a beautifully designed room which this is hands down stunning! You never cease to amaze me with all the gorgeous spaces you design and makeover. I wish I could have you makeover my dining room! You should really consider doing online services and send mood boards and such via online instead of in person for all of us who are no where near you hahaha I would be all over that for your design expertise! I love interior design and everything that goes with it and can design and help others with their spaces but when it comes to my own, I’m driving that struggle bus to the middle of no where lol!!

I feel like saying "Good stretch" is in ALL big dog owner's DNA.
I love the stenciling on the dress form. To make it look more antique, one could carefully sponge or dab a little of the white base color around the edges of the stenciled letters to make it look like the black paint is missing in some areas.
Beautiful transformation. Wish the rod and curtains were more "opulent", more ornate rod in aged white reaching beyond window on both sides and curtains with a nice heavy drape pulled to the sides. Client was thrilled! That must make you feel so good!

This makeover is beautiful! I think it adds to the closet space that you ran out of paper and used the floral accent wall. Love seeing HOW you made the moulding around the room. The printer box is wonderful, too! Love the chandelier. Love having a big rug in there. Love everything about the room. Thought the color would be too much but it works and the wallpaper and rug are a big part of that.

Also, if you're drilling or hole cutting through 'covered mdf' (such as you did for the printer cord holes) you can avoid the "skin peeling off" by covering the surface with tape first. I prefer super wide blue painters' (low tack) tape, but masking tape will work as well. Duct tape, however? No bueno.
