Holy guacamole.. first off I don’t typically comment on diy vids I just usually give a like. BUT the way you planned out and took aspects from other pieces you liked and made it your own is inspiring. You really did take all the great design elements and put them into one piece. How you executed everything to make this hutch happen was great craftsmanship and design. Even fixing the slight overhang though small makes a difference in the details of the piece overall. DIY Diva, am I right folks? You got your dream hutch apothecary cabinet designed and made by yourself. You should feel proud, great job!! Obsessed with the end result and want to do this myself!
I have literally spent the last 2 dayz looking for a video on how to make/thrift&flip an apothecary hutch for my craft room. This video could not have come out at a more perfect time! I think the hutch turned out wonderful and it is giving me all kinds of ideas for my own craft space. My next vacation needs to show up sooner! I want to work on finishing the room and getting my basement back in some semblance of order.
people think I got vaccinated because I want to do my part in getting through this pandemic but in reality I did it because I knew DIY Danie would soon create the piece of my dreams and I will need to fly to Canada (from Italy) to steal it. That piece is this piece. It's amazing. I'd say you outdid yourself, but you always do amazing mind-blowing things, so I can't even say that. Your furniture pieces always give me literal life and are probably my favourite thing on your channel, except your room makeovers are, too, and your can I make it for cheaper, and just - well, I couldn't chose one. This piece is stunning and has so much character. I'm obsessed with the deep wood colour on the inside, it makes it really gives it even more special something and it's like the best kind of colour combination for this kind of cabinet ever. Excuse me while I'm going to stare at this piece for an hour now.
This is my favorite comment ever🥰🥰🥰. For the first time, I am commenting on a UA-cam video, and my comment wasn't for the actual video, but for you Mael. Lol. Well Danny, like my family says for things that are beyond great, "you done did yourself. " This was my favorite upcycle ever💕💕. Now, I need to go find someone to do it for me......
The vision and how you made it happen - just amazing. Such smooth technique - even the jokes are especially corny-smooth! Applause Danie and Jess, of course.
Fantastic result! You are so clever. I loved the routed v-grooves. Re: thé cubby holes. I’ve learned to prime and paint boards before I even cut them. Then it just takes a few touch ups or one coat when everything is assembled. Soooooo much easier to paint a board than a constructed piece. .
Definitely fills up and fits the space better (as well as adding more storage), than the previous cabinet. Was wondering about the center glassed in shelf; believe you said it was fixed (not an actual door)? Do you then have to slide in items from either side to use? If so, would it be more convenient to remove the glass and make the center open shelving?
I so love apothecary’s myself!! This is absolutely stunning!! Great choice to paint with black chalk paint, it gives a certain age to the piece. I’m jealous😂 TFS 🙂
Wow. I typically do not like seeing real wood painted. Especially older pieces that can be restored with a little effort. This was a beautiful piece too. Danie, only you can make me say wow when painting gorgeous wood. That is one amazing transformation!
It completely levelled up! Amazing work- I love how you show your process of creative problem solving and looking for solutions ☺️ also the editor officially deserves a raise- I cackled at the Dwight clip insert 😂
This is honestly one of my favorite faux(ish) apothecary cabinet upcycle/DIYs I have EVER seen. So well done, so cool looking, and your positivity is always delightful. :)
I am in LOVE!! This is the cabinet of my dreams also! I have given up on the hubs doing things for me that I want so for Christmas and birthdays I keep buying him all the Ryobi tools that I intend to borrow later! Genius, huh? Amazing job Dani! You rock!(BTW, could you let us know when the flashing lights are over at the beginning of your videos. Some of us are “triggered” by flashing lights, for me it’s migraines, for others it can be seizures. I’d appreciate it and I’m sure there are others.)
It is amazing that you found this piece that fits so perfectly with your vision. You basically added the center portion you wanted and altered the bottom doors. Obviously helps to do the millinote prep work and know exactly what you want, but you could have looked a long time and not found something that perfect. God is good. Your workmanship was excellent as usual. Great job.
Sad to see the magical cabinet go but... Danie you outdid yourself and I love the apothecary cabinet you ended up with! You're really showing us the power of DIYing every single week ٩(♡ε♡ )۶
Absolutely stunning. !!!! I’ve been dying for a large cabinet just like this and they are through the roof pricey and not what I’m wanting to spend at this time. This diy is amazing Dani. I can’t thank you enough for sharing it and the process of it all and breaking it down so it doesn’t feel so intimidating. You never ever fail at giving us incredible content and diys or home ideas. Your the best and absolutely amazing. I always love watching your videos 1 for the content but 2 your energy is so uplifting and positive and down to earth it’s a breath of fresh air. Love your channel and you thanks for always giving us incredible ideas and content. Lots of love and well wishes. !!
Facebook Marketplace always has cabinets like this.. a lot of people dont have a big enough car or truck to move these big cabinets.. so they are priced very low because most people just want it gone out of their house. Keep an eye out.
I've been looking for the perfect small hutch to recycle for my office. So glad you shared this! I never thought to add a piece to the middle (many of the ones I saw came in 2 pieces) to give me what I needed! GREAT work, looks awesome 😁
Loved this DIY! It looks amazing But I need to thank you for introducing me to Milanote! I’m an user experience designer and it’s changed the game for me working my way through the design process and colab with a team!
It looks really good. I've been wanting an apothecary cabinet for many years, a narrow one to go behind my desk. I actually want all the small drawers for my OCD organizing obsession.
Ohmygod. This video is everything! The ideation, design, and execution were mind blowing 🤯 And the fact that you so effortlessly wove in the Milanote aspect. I think people get overwhelmed when they need to try a new productivity app because it can become like Photoshop. You, my friend, addressed that perfectly. Kudos to the editor for some really cool work. Jess is awesome as always. And Danie Berger, you are such an inspiration. 🙌🏽
Great job Danie! I love the wood interior that contrasts with the black. It adds a subtle color thrill to the piece. There's something so beautiful about black and brown wood together.
What a gorgeous piece, and it fits so perfectly into your space too! You had me at "diy apothecary style" so now I have to binge my way through your channel.
I LOVE how that turned out; Absolutely inspiring! I also want to comment that I love how when Milinote sponsors you, it really feels natural, like something you use and legitimately love, rather than some company you're just shilling for. I find those kind of sponsor adverts far less jaring.
Actually better than a expensive purchase! Meeting the needs because you designed it, really showing your process by demonstration! Blessed and safe days!
What a beautiful transformation! But silly me I didn’t realize the apothecary drawers were going to be faux. Lol. I guess little drawers wouldn’t be very practical for storage. Well done Danie! Always stepping up your game and I’m here for it!
You did it again D. !!!!!! BEYOND AMAZING !!!!!! You knocked it OUT OF THE PARK !!!!!!! I WANT ONE !!!! So beautiful. Can’t say enough Your imagination amazes me every time
My first thought was “okay but you’ve gotta use this one Danie!” 😆 This turned out amazingly well and it’s in my favorite color so it gets an A+ from me. Also kudos to your editor. Some really cool editing things happening as well. Thanks editor person!!!
Wow, Danie, this is an amazing transformation. You are living my dream, all the tools, lots of space, brilliant ideas and tech skills. You are rocking the youtube!
This has to be the best thrift flip I've ever seen! I am a sucker for apothecary cabinets but I don't love how much they usually cost. You completely transformed the original piece. Keeping the original stained wood on the inside and painting the outside black really makes it look beautiful. I'm so jealous that it's not in my house! I like the idea of adding lights to the inside. Thanks for another great diy and for giving me another project that I would love to do myself. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Loving this - absolutely gorgeous, and I really like the wood finish that peeks thru! One of my favorite projects I’ve seen you do, babygirl! What happened to your apothecary cab you made with the IKEA pieces? Do you still have it?
W O W Danie you nailed it!!! I so enjoyed the process, you are impressive with your creativity and skills, an inspiration for all. Enjoy the storage, it looks fantastic in your office - I especially love how the wallpaper brings the whole room together. 💯
Beautiful, amazing and perfect. I love how you take us along from your idea/vision, creation and staging the finished piece. Pottery Barn worthy masterpiece.
You totally rocked this! I love everything about it. I have been wanting an apothecary cabinet for a long time but they are always so pricey. Thank you for sharing a fantastic and feasible version.

Beautiful! The functionality of what really defined this style of cabinet is what most attracts me to the notion of having one..the tiny drawers! I need the tiny drawers!! Lol
Wow! This is just amazing! Epic, for sure. I don't think I could get all of the hardware perfectly spaced the way you did! Lights would look great in it.
I love the creative community. I’m working on some leftover plywood end grain ideas for an entry way mirror frame. You make using a table saw look not so scary.
I wish I had room for a hutch like this! And watching your tattoo “fill in” with each video is amazing!
it's finally done! I will be doing a big post about it on my insta soon - just haven't found the time 😵 haha
I can't wait to see it fully! It looks pristine 😍
