    I was so relieved that someone else had the same problem replacing the battery as I did. You are much more patient than I am - I have screwdriver marks all over the tray edge! It seems that Logitech just wanted you to throw the keyboard away when the battery stopped functioning. It is an incredibly bad piece of engineering and who ever designed it needs replacing! It is worth noting that the battery must be replaced with a ML2032 and not at CR2032 which is not rechargeable and could cause a fire.

    I purchased my K750 on October 2016, it stopped working 3 days ago, no red or green lights, dead, I ordered a new keyboard the next day, but I returned it today when I replaced the battery to my old keyboard using your video. ir works perfectly. Thanks you, $59 v $13 (I ordered a spare battery).

    Ok, to add to this. The guitar pick is the perfect tool to get it started. If all else fails, you can learn guitar because now you have a broken keyboard and a guitar pick. . Start from the top side with keyboard up. Wedge the fat part or the top of the pick in that battery tray and pry a little by pressing down and out. Itʻll get you some room to really start your work. You will notice a groove in that tray that your pick will fit into to get a better grip. Once again, place your pick in that groove and press down and out. The tray will come out further but not all the way. This is where you get some type of really small screw driver or thin ice pick like tool to push that ear/tab piece inwards. Itʻs those damn tabs that are making it difficult. Itʻll still take a little effort, but once you can pinch those tabs in, itʻll pop out. Thanks for the pick idea. Genius! Next, Iʻm going to trim those tabs hopefully to make this process a hell of a lot easier the next time...if there is a next time.

    Appreciate the video. First one I found, they guy failed to frame his view and all his prying was cut off so could not see what he was doing, but saw this one on the right side and at least it’s easy to see where to pry and how the holder clips in. I found I could slide my pick in the top side of the holder and sort of pry the holder along the top groove using a small flat head screwdriver against the pick instead of the housing. Also seems prying near corner until one end starts to release then going to the other side got the holder to almost pop out, it was a lot easier once that 1/8” or so was exposed. Next time I’ll just pry enough to get that groove exposed, then use a jeweler’s screwdriver to depress the latch pin on one side, wiggle it out a bit then depress the other side to fully release the latch pins.

    Did you find that once the battery was changed that the problems were fixed? I am having similar problems. The keyboard is not holding it's charge and stops working, even though the solar app shows the battery is at 95%. So im not sure if i should replace the battery or just get a new keyboard. As at the minute i am having to shine a UV light directly onto the panels to get it working.

    Thanks so much for posting this video. It was very helpful to me. I've had my Logitech solar keyboard for years and honestly I never knew it even had a battery. Bought the new battery today and replaced it fairly quickly once I got the little drawer that holds it. However getting that drawer open was very difficult as you know. I like my Logitech products very much but they really need to make this maneuver easier. Anyway, thanks again. Seeing your video probably cut the time in half for me.

    Not too bad? Such a frustrating experience! I finally had success when coming at it... keyboard face down plucking up and toward your face with a letter opener/thin blade... not down and toward your belly from the back side. Crazy ridiculous difficult over a $7 part. All tools should be super thin... maybe a lock pick tool? I finally got the rechargeable battery out but not without damaging the slider/panel all to Sh$%. Ultimately, the simple battery replacement worked like a charm.

    To open it, just take a small flathead screwdriver from the topside corners and twist. Once the central slotted area is exposed, use the screwdriver to slide it up and out. DO NOT pry it out from its side wings. It will visibly show its structural integrity give away until it does. It really shouldn't take 5 minutes to open.

    instead of going from the bottom stick your fingernail under the top of the battery compartment you may need to us a small screwdriver. Gently work it out until you see a divot put a coin in that slot and work it out or gently smaller and work it out. no damage to the keyboard using this method.

  • @caepncrunch3741
    @caepncrunch3741 2 роки тому +1

    Dude, you almost did it right, just from the wrong side. The best tool for it is a long finger nail, yes your read right or alternatively you can use a small flat screw driver. Slide the screw driver, fingernail or your guitar pick about 2mm on the TOP of the battery tray and NOT from the bottom, gentle press it downwards and pull it into your direction. NO scratches, no broken keyboard this way. The battery tray has a little carved line on the top which is made for it to use it... ;-)

    This was painful to watch. I thought this would be a 'look how easy this is' video, but no, it was the most sorrowful view of a man struggling with his keyboard and I kept thinking PULL OUT THAT PICK! Made it harder to get the battery drawer out with that wedged in there. The sides are spring loaded, they needed to be pinched inward to free the drawer, not pried and pried and pried and pried on while pulling. Sheesh. Learn how. This appears a two-person operation with one person pinching the drawer inward on each side while one pulls the drawer outward to keep things simple. A spudger helps but three things need to be going on at the same time to make this work.
    I'm going to get two small screwdrivers to compress each side while a friend pulls the drawer with a third and I have 5 of these to do since Logitech kept replacing my keyboard with duds that won't charge and treated me like a con artist for asking them to replace dead boards. Nice of them considering how many I've purchased for myself and my guy over the years and how many I've recommended to others! You hearing me Logitech? Treat good customers with R E S P E C T and make these so that stupid drawer is removable. These shouldn't become landfill as they have been. The whole Idea behind using a solar panel is to conserve and not burn through batteries as if there's no tomorrow.

    • @AlejandroJPizarro
      @AlejandroJPizarro  5 років тому

      FreeSpokenOne Thanks for the feedback. The pick was really just to minimize the damage to the plastic if possible. I know it’s on the backside so no one would see it but it’s just one of those things that would bug me knowing it was all dented from the screwdrivers. And your right, it should be a simple battery tray release situation. It’s almost as if the designers where almost there and someone said “wait... let’s not finish this design.” Anyway, the good news is that it is replaceable for a relatively cheap cost. Good luck with yours!

      @@AlejandroJPizarro Okay. You got me. LOL. It took 15 minutes to do a 1 minute job. It works now, great. I guess that is the point. At least you didn't threaten anyone with a gun like in the video with the guy who changes out his battery. Don't worry, he struggles too for several minutes. And you did it, ultimately. Perhaps if you edit all the struggling to open it parts, get the correct tool, I used a hobby knife, you could have posted a 1 minute video that everyone would have liked. Though I get your paranoia about jamming metal objects into electronics, this is a low wattage nearly inert device that will not likely cause harm unless ingested.. I laughed out loud when the pick was still jammed in there as you were attempting to open this thing. I admit, it is funny, but not in a good intentional way.
