Wow, back then this was "amazing"! Gimme at least 720, dude! People are desperate for the record company to reupload the official version. It's in 240! Two hundred and forty lines, and that's it! That's HALF the quality of old American analogue television.
Kinda dislike the video at first glance, but the song is so catchy, that plus Natalie Portman doing this video for free in exchange for a charity cause and embellishing any moment she´s at the spotlight .. kinda start to like the freaky video.. they dated some months after this video... btw, is that Kat Dennings in blue?
it's admirable to say the least to see the self-esteem of extremely regular white guys thinking Natalie Portman would want to have sex with them. and they wanted to say that in public too
He's not making fun of Hinduism. His parents were Hindu, and I assume he grew up a good part of his life as a Hindu. Devendra, a synonym for the Hindu god Indra, is his birth name given to him by his devout Hindu parents as a suggestion by their religious leader.
I think it's great the way it's put together but many Hindus are going to be offended at the flippant way their religious imagery is used to fit into a comic narrative that's more a reflection of the singer and the way he's had to mould his persona for his fans. Hindus need not to be offended because this is not a serious attempt to make fun of or offend Hindu iconery. If anything they should be pissed at the journeyman approach by Indian media and film makers to showcase Hinduism.

You do know that Devendra Banhart's parents were Hindu, right? Even Devendra is named after the Hindu god Indra.
