I have taken care of my neighbor's hamster 🐹 and watched it prove it was a living breathing creature like a larger animal or human. It ate food and butt up to one side of the cage and urinated on my table. A toy doesn't eat or go to the restroom.
That's what I want is a tiny creature with a little body with a beating heart-a stomach, and even a pair of kidneys.
It's really worth it to have to feed the little animal and clean up after it.
Protecting the table was quite simple-I put newspaper under the cage to catch the pee and change it daily.

it hit hard when you said that last thing about just being happy that youre giving a hamster a good life and that theyre not in a crittertrail and suffering, because you're the reason thousands of hamsters, my baby included, arent in crittertrails and are living good lives. you should be so proud of yourself and know how much good youve done for these little guys because we know and love and appreciate you for it ❤
I am getting a hamster soon, and it was hard to convince my parents that hamsters are not disposable pets. Ie; need bigger cages. I finally got through this morning so thanks for being a guide and inspiration. ❤

OMG, I’m so attached to my hamster. Whenever I wake up I check if he is alive. He is a little over 2 years old, the camera idea is a good idea! Imma use it lol
Same!!! I check on mine at like 9:30 every night and my parents get all mad and say “go to sleep! She’ll be fine!” And I’m like “she might be dead!! You never know!”

I mean to be fair if she's dead you checking on her won't bring her back to life but could help if she's dying though with a camera wouldn't you check anyways same like you would check irl to this comment? Like prob not much longer to go check though at least might be able to see without opening hide and waking hamster more.
The cameras seem cool, you can also see if any funny things happen!!! I also could look at my mice ( I sadly don’t have hamsters and probably won’t for the next few years ) cuddling together without waking them!!!
Also If you find a pet dead in a weird place you can check what happened and see when and possibly how they died !!!
The whole social thing is how my autism manifests (didn't know I was autistic till I was 36), can't even order food over the phone forget making appointments, anxiety ridden when it comes to interacting with other people (including writing comments like this one), my sister is the same in that respect. My birthday is the cut off date for Aquarius 🙃. I absolutely love the habitats you make for your hamsters.

I just love your channel! Sadly my hamster passed the last one of 4 - from cancer and pneumonia. She passed in my arms. I love you bon bon ❤️ By the way, I also had massive anxiety about my hamster/hamsters I needed to make sure they were still alive all the time. You helped me and my family a lot in our hamster journey, if we didn’t find your channel our hamsters probably wouldn’t have had a good life. Thank you so much!!

Love what you said at the end. Both of my current hamsters aren't ones you can handle. I have a robo and a dwarf But knowing I've got them in large cages and doing the best I can is good enough 😌

I’m so glad I finally found a video of you talking about rats as pets! I’ve been wondering if you’d ever get them esp since you’re good friends with Emi. I completely understand your reasons for not wanting them. They’re expensive, and the amount of things that could go wrong is stressful. It’s sad knowing not even my extensive research and love for them can fully eliminate the chances of them becoming ill. And because they’re such a great animal.

I used to be completely crippled by my social anxiety for a large portion of my life but I have slowly been pushing myself over the years and making new coping skills so I can do the things I want to do. I hope you can make some progress yourself and not have that horrible feeling of anxiety stopping you from living your life. Hi! i gotta thank you a lot! My hamster was always not really happy and would never even think about getting close to me... But then i started watching your videos! I changed cage, bedding, bedding height food, water bowl and a lot of stuff and now my hamster is being so nice! She looks really happy and loves to play with me and comes freely to my hand when i put it in the cage, thx!
My old hamster Cinnabon lived in a tiny tales cage for her whole life and she didn’t like interacting with people. She died from tumors and she was a robo dwarf hamster. Now I have Chocolate Truffle and he is very sweet, he lives in a bin cage I made that has six hundred something square inches (I forgot exactly how much lol) and if I hadn’t started watching your videos then he would probably be living in a tiny cage from petsmart. Thank you for your fantastic videos! ⭐🤗
I just recovered from covid and I felt so guilty basically ignoring my one Syrian. Of course I did give her the basic needs ... just changed her water and filled up her food. The one thing I let go a few extra days was cleaning up her nest. I just couldn't pull myself together enough to deal with the bedding. It's good to know others find caring a little harder when they're sick.

You are so inspirational and i love your videos so much. I am actually adopting a hamster today; A boy Syrian hamster named Ollie and will be living in a 711 sq in homemade cage. My other hamster passed about three months ago and i didn't think i was going to get another until i came across your channel and realized how much i missed her and just had to adopt another that needed a good home.

I love your channel. Thanks to your videos, my kids' hammy, Snowball, has a better enclosure. We got rid of the small wheel and got her a Niteangel one like yours, plus multi chamber, different substrates, sprays and other enrichment. I don't know if you get to read my comment but I just wanted to say that I used to be very introverted, I had so much anxiety when I had to make phone calls (except when calling my best friends) and I was the quiet one at parties and other social events. But I've gradually changed, it took years to open up more and more, people now don't believe me when I tell them I used to be shy. I think it was very brave of you to answer questions and to let us know you a bit better. Thank you for your videos, my kids and I like you a lot. Love from UK

I can relate to your anxiety triggers A LOT as a person with quite severe social anxiety. Heck, I even have to get my friend or my parent or brother to order my drink at starbucks for me in fear of judgement. School and meeting people scare me to death so we won't talk about that. I totally get where you are coming from with the phone calls and video calls too, and just talking to people, being in a room full of people, just people in general. They scare me- anyway great video, love Q&A's and learning more about you !! :D

Hi, I'm the same as you with my anxiety. Especially when talking to other people and when you want to say something and the moment passes, it's like instant regret lol. I like my own space that's why I like staying inside most of the time as I'm quite content that way, but when I do go out my anxiety starts and then I just want to get back home sometimes. Also, I'd love to go hamster shopping with you one day, bet it will be fun! Love your videos 😊😊

Could you make a feeding schedule type video/what to feed your hamsters? I struggle with knowing how much/often to feed my hamsters especially since I have a robo and Syrian which eat drastically different amounts.

I agree about how to show love to hamsters. Mine isnt super social but I know he's happy foraging and getting treats and not being stressed by too much interaction
I got a rare hamster. He loves human interaction and takes cute little naps on my shoulder under my hair. I've recently come to the conclusion that the only reason he bites his cage is because he wants to come out and hang out 😭 (don't worry his cage is 1000sq ft, lots of enrichment, and he gets boredom breakers everyday)
