Are Old Gods like C'Thun or Yogg-Saron still alive? AA: I would say we should consider them dead. However as with all things in World of Warcraft and the Warcraft's universe dead isn't always dead. If there was a coming of forth of the Old Gods or herald of the Old Gods come down from the great dark-- I can see that easily happening. Not saying that happening, I'm just saying death isn't the end of the line in World of Warcraft, and it really never has been. I think that's kind of been from your character to the world around you. There is a cycle." this is from 2018 with Alex Frasabi "Question: Can you confirm or deny whether the old gods are dead? We've got a lot of people who think that we've only fought manifestations, and their true forms lie dormant somewhere. Are we maybe going to see more of that? Answering: Steve Danuser Confirms that we've killed their forms, in the cases of Yogg'Saron and C'thun despite echoes of them still seeming to permeate the world. "If you think about our cosmology and the way that creatures of magic work as opposed to mortals, mortals die they go to the Shadowlands. If you fought the Legion, you fought demons. If you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? Back to the Twisting Nether, which is the place where they come from." "So if you think about other magical creatures and think what happens when you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? There's the potential for things like that to kind of happen. We try to have this cosmology of the way things work, and that's something that you can apply to other things. And I think the old gods are an interesting case where, you know, we've defeated one version of them and who knows if another manifestation will eventually take place.""

N'Zoth literally reveals to the player that Sylvannas will betray them. That she will finally release her arrow. Her story of descenting to seemingly madness was sparked back in WotLK, when she had killed herself. Except that she had witnessed a fate far worse than death itself. Something she wishes to avoid at all costs. Her story later continues to develop when Legion begins with her being proclaimed Warchief by a weak, dying Vol'jin who we later find out was put into a spectral state that even the sides of light AND death had no power of creating. That leaves only the Void with such a power. Sylvannas wishes nothing more than to avoid a fate she had witnessed...so a bargain had been struck. A plan devised. She bares the very Blade of Servitude. The Blade of Xalatath. Crafted as a symbol of eternal servitude to the one who created it...N'Zoth. God of the Deep. Emperor of the Abyss. Her arrow shall hit it's mark soon as stated from his very words. Her trap will finally spring, bringing us straight to Queen Ashara, who finally states that Sylvannas had wanted this to happen. To finally offer what N'Zoth desired most for his final release. Our untamed power contained inside the Heart of Azeroth.

All I know is, Y'Shaarj is scary because he sounds like an actual human with relatable thoughts.
I'd like them to keep it as close to the original as possible, though. A little more modern autotune is fine, but keep it close to the same "schizophrenia-demon"-vibe as possible.
@@veritasabsoluta4285 his not coping though lol. Nzoth is a master manipulator and us "killing" him actually freed him from azeroth and sent him back to his home realm. The only old God that is dead is Yashaarj. Nzoth is most likely rebuilding the black empire. Just like when you kill a burning Legion demo they get sent back to their own real which is the nether and are reborn. You are also forgetting about Xalatath the old God dagger. Old gods have their own dimension too. Good read up on the lore. The Old God saga is far from over.
@@GamingInstincts The Old Gods' home world pretty much is Azeroth. That's the point of them, they were made by the Void Lords to corrupt the Titans slumbering inside the worlds in order to create a Void Titan. The Black Empire was a part of Azeroth, as were all the other empires of the Old Gods. Their end goal relies on them staying on Azeroth. So I don't think N'Zoth was "freed" or anything, nor was it his plan.
You know what I really like about Old God's? The Weaker they are in their hierarchy the more dangerous they get. Sure there is no way to confirm that for Y'Shaarj but I imagine being the strongest old god it would attempt to muscle its way through Azeroth with little to no planning. Yogg-Saron the second strongest among the group and strongest old god that survived can also just brute force its way to victory but also utilities deception and he is quite patient. C'thun the 3rd in the pecking order isn't all that patient like Yogg-Saron but he is still more dangerous since he is in control of the main army the old gods used to deploy which overthrew the elemental lords in the first place. He doesn't need a grand plan when he has the largest military at his command and outnumbers his foes forcing them to take dangerous gambles to strike directly at the source. And Lastly N'Zoth the weakest of the 4. And even as the weakest his might is still unchallenged by anything that is not a titan or a old god. So he can also just use brute force if he has too. But instead he is the most intelligent and most cunning of the bunch. While he has less assets then any other old god he just patiently waits and sets up multiple plans for a total dominant victory. Slowly over century he builds up his army and sows confusion among his adversary's. And only when he is certain of victory will he unleash the doomsday scenarios he has prepared for so long. And at this point any counterplan you come up with N'zoth has most likely accounted for and already set something in motion to rob you of your strongest assets.
Nzoth was always known as the weakest but also the most cunning, I truly believe there was a reason why out of all the Old Gods he alone was able to escape.

He was introduced in one of the last patches before the first expansion, very early into the game (I wanna say 2006?) At that time, WoW did not have a lot of characters with unique voice acting besides when you actually fought them as bosses. The other old gods have lines from quest lines as well as prior to actually starting combat. I did like the direction of C'Thun though. He has a very stilted manner of speaking where it's obvious that mortal language is not natural for him, and he doesn't care to hide it. It's as if the game is trying to convey him assaulting you with the raw emotions of fear, doubt, panic, etc.

Dark Sephiria you do realize that we didn’t even come close to killing them. All we did was sent their avatars back to their prisons.
@@digitalninja5941 As far as I remember, recently in an interview with Steve Danuser they said, that the old gods are indeed dead though, that is, why I said this about yogg saron... that this doesn't make sense, since we can hear him being active in a questchain later
Dark Sephiria Well shit.....they need to stop changing the lore every 5 minutes -_-
@@digitalninja5941 "Q: Third Chronicles have information about Old Gods. Every Old God, except N'Zoth, have been beaten, but not "killed". It is true? Are Old Gods like C'Thun or Yogg-Saron still alive?
AA: I would say we should consider them dead. However as with all things in World of Warcraft and the Warcraft's universe dead isn't always dead. If there was a coming of forth of the Old Gods or herald of the Old Gods come down from the great dark-- I can see that easily happening. Not saying that happening, I'm just saying death isn't the end of the line in World of Warcraft, and it really never has been. I think that's kind of been from your character to the world around you. There is a cycle." this is from 2018 with Alex Frasabi
"Question: Can you confirm or deny whether the old gods are dead? We've got a lot of people who think that we've only fought manifestations, and their true forms lie dormant somewhere. Are we maybe going to see more of that?
Answering: Steve Danuser
Confirms that we've killed their forms, in the cases of Yogg'Saron and C'thun despite echoes of them still seeming to permeate the world.
"If you think about our cosmology and the way that creatures of magic work as opposed to mortals, mortals die they go to the Shadowlands. If you fought the Legion, you fought demons. If you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? Back to the Twisting Nether, which is the place where they come from."
"So if you think about other magical creatures and think what happens when you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? There's the potential for things like that to kind of happen. We try to have this cosmology of the way things work, and that's something that you can apply to other things. And I think the old gods are an interesting case where, you know, we've defeated one version of them and who knows if another manifestation will eventually take place.""

There was datamined text from SL beta, where i think Shaw was telling Turalyon should be king in Anduins absence
Also if you notice, turalyon was being controlled by xe,'ra and you can tell by his eyes.
They glow when she's brought back together and until she dies.
Then, he tries to slice illadin using his brightly shining yellow sword. His eyes are dark brown. They don't glow as they should. No. They only glowed with xe'ra, who was trying to force a choice into someone they didn't want so min raping them.

OMG i just noticed this literally a summary of shadowland expansion 9:06 --> 11:50

I think C'Thun had the best voicelines, the other old gods make suggestions to betray, murder, and hate. C'Thun demands it. You WILL die, your friends WILL abandon you, your hear WILL explode. He is direct, he is cold, he is fear. He also doesn't need to boast his power, because his power is felt through the delivery of his lines.
Y'Shaarj says "You WILL die when you leave," and "Your allies WILL leave you behind"
But yes, I heard it's suggested C'thun is the strongest of all old gods.
My favorite is Yogg'Saron tho lol
I would like to say Y'shaarj is cannonicly the strongest old God in terms of strength. However N'zoth is the weakest in strength but strongest in manipulation.

C’Thun
“Death is close, you are already dead. Your courage will fail. Your friends will abandon you. You betray your friends. You will die! You are weak. Your heart will explode.”
Yogg Sarron
“They are coming for you. Give in to your fear. Kill them all, before they will you. They have turned against you, now take your revenge. Tell yourself again that they are not truly your friends. There is no escape in this world, not in the next. You are a pawn for the forces unseen. It was your fault. All that you know, will fade. (Scream)... Help me! Please get them off me! What do you want from me? Leave me alone! The time to strike at the head of the best will soon be upon us! Focus you anger and hatred on his minions. Yes! Yes! Show them no mercy! Give no pause to your attacks! Let hatred and rage guide your blows! Powerless to act, could they have been saved? Weak minded fool! I am the lucid dream. The monster in your nightmares. The fiend of a thousand faces. Coware before my true form! Bow down before the god of death! Tremble mortals before the coming of the end! Suffocate upon your own hate! Your will is no longer your own. Destroy them minions, the master commands it! Enteral suffering awaits! Muhahahahahahaha! Madness will consume you! You will learn, no king rules forever! Only death is enteral! A thousand death or one murder? Your petty quarrels make me stronger! Look upon the true face of death and know your end comes soon! Your fate is sealed! The end of days is finally upon you and of who inhabit the miserable little seedling!
Y’Shaarj
“You should kill them all, you must kill them all. I saw the windows to soul. Shutter them forever. Pluck their wings. Leave them broken. Pay the cost of greatness. All should bow before you, make them! All you have accomplished, all you have won. Hahahahaha! Yet still you lick the boots of kings. Carve more slowly than I may feed. Embrace your rage. Correse you fear. Gorge your hatred! Voice your doubts. When you walk among the black forest, you will see. I can taste the essence of your soul, it is weak. You can never leave this place, there is no way home. You will die when you leave this place, there is nothing left of your world. You have already lost. All of your friends are dead. No-one is coming to save you. Your allies will leave you behind. You cannot succeed, your cause is hopeless. Your allies think that you are weak. You do not have the strength to defeat him. You are too weak to carry on. With each threat unravelled, step closer to my realm. Another plenish on your soul. You will rest in Ny’alotha.

Near boils decay before the gaze of a god. Wither! Kneel! Obey! Children, the deaths are my domain. Deeper! Everdeeper! Let the tides draw you in my dream. Ahhhh, you think you know power? The storm holds strength. But there is a price to be paid. Harness your fury. Make your hatred a weapon. Atlast! Embrace the truth of shadow. Yes, you draw closer. Ever closer. With every choice, you become more my servant. Hmmmm, patience, patience! They may yet prove worthy of my gift. I will taste their dreams, their flesh. Yes, you are indeed the ones I seek. The ones to turn the tide. Receive below the greatest gifts. My dream has become my own. The circle of stars may flesh. Sea will show you the way. Come, Come! The hour approaches when all eyes shall be opened. Go but the blade must remain to serve my will. I have dreamed your destiny mortal. The hour is close at hand. The light has struck a bargain with the enemy of all. Six seats at the high table, six mouths that hunger. One will consume all others. The veil wains. His crown will open the way before night reveals her true face. She will bring only ruin. When the arrow finds its mark, the last fetter will find its way. I alone can save you, from what is to come.
Yeah im sure they totally thought of shadowlands back then
You know what I really like about Old God's?
Nzoth was always known as the weakest but also the most cunning, I truly believe there was a reason why out of all the Old Gods he alone was able to escape.

he got introduced in the first version of the game when there was not that much story and voicelines in general and we killed him in a raid then
He was introduced in one of the last patches before the first expansion, very early into the game (I wanna say 2006?)
At that time, WoW did not have a lot of characters with unique voice acting besides when you actually fought them as bosses.
