    Great videos of one of my favorite communities in Vietnam… For those interested in Paradise Cave there’s a longer tour option where you go to the end of the wooden plank walkway, put on helmet with bright light then step down in the floor of the cave and continue into the unlit part of the cave. The guides will bring lunch and you continue a couple of km further. I took a geologist friend with me a couple of years ago and he was blown away by the experience. Out near the end of the unlit area is a pond / river with kayak and swimming area. I opted to hang back a bit with the lunch and just took a nap while everyone else went to the end for a kayak / swim time. Best nap ever :-) looking forward to being back there in September..

      I wonder if this is the caving video that One Pack Wanderers did...their experience looked like such an adrenaline rush.

    • @kencrouse4403
      @kencrouse4403 2 роки тому

      @@hangeroo2439 it is not. I went to One Pack Wanderers and they are accessing the cave in their video via kayaks. Paradise Cave is not accessible by water - access is a fairly lengthy set of stairs to get up to the mouth of the cave, then more stairs descending down to the floor of the cave.

    • @hangeroo2439
      @hangeroo2439 2 роки тому

      @@kencrouse4403 Ah, okay, but their caving video was super cool. Did you do questionable stuff like they did with the ladders and crossing the swift river?

      @kencrouse4403 2 роки тому

      @@hangeroo2439 I haven’t… I usually hit Phong Nha for a few days mid-trip for some R&R. This next trip I’m participating in a trail running event up near Sapa on a Saturday that will likely go 12+ hours, then go to Phong Nha the following day for (4) nights - probably get in one day of trekking while there as some friends are coming up to meet me in Phong Nha, but it will mostly be rest. On one trip I rented a moto while in Phong Nha and just explored the stops out in Bong Lai Valley (Pub With Cold Beer among them). Each stop had hammocks overlooking a small river and the day became the “Hammock Tour” - think it was a series of one hour naps… :-) …. I need to schedule a trip where I spend a week there to do some of the more adventurous caving. Also want to rent a moto and ride the 50km loop that goes through the park … so many options there and very laid back.

    It's so wonderful that you guys took a trip to vietnam with your parents. Vietnam is definitely a place for all generations. I just watched your other clip where your mom talked about the history of the Hoa Lua prison, she did a great job telling the history. What makes your clips so touching and emotional in term of content is that you included all generations, history, cultural. Unlike most youtubers just about selfie themselves eating foods. You guys by far, the best coverage about Vietnam Travel, very deep and touching. Having your parents on the clips have made your clips to another level of meaningful and touching.

    One of the reasons I enjoy watching your adventures is because of your parents/inlaws. They appear similar in age to my wife and I. Basically, it helps me gage if I might be able to do some of these adventures because I wear a prosthesis and have worn one for 40 years, but still active and adventurous. We hope to leave our adventures in Thailand next year, and spend a year in Vietnam. For now, we are living vicariously through you 4, and planning our trip to Vietnam.

    Video was awesome in so many ways! I would be sad to leave such a beautiful area as I can never get over how beautiful those limestone karsts/mountains are and they are right there in your face everywhere. The cave is spectacular in scale and beauty, too. I loved that you took the time to live with the local family and interact with all the people in the area as that really makes it so much more special than just running around checking your bucket list, and then leave.

      @@SammyandTommy Sometimes the most spectacular amazing videos don't always get the views they deserve because plebians and their small minds prefer vanilla and boring but also overseas Viets are haters, but those are the times you have to remind yourself that you're doing it so when you're old and gray, you can reminisce about the awesome adventures and experiences of your youth. Videos of HCMC/Saigon will typically get more views because of the overseas Viets, but I prefer videos of the more natural beauty of northern Vietnam and the adventures one can beget there vs big city concrete jungle chaos. I LOVE nature as it is tranquil and sooths my soul. The limestone karsts/mountains/landscape and the caves are just amazingly beautiful and breathtaking to me.

    Phonga Nha, Vietnam. I wanted to love this town so much with its gorgeous views, amazing river and wonderful caves. In my 3 days there I have never been flipped off or cursed at by locals so much in my life. Getting the middle finger from people as young as 10 as I rode my bike through the countryside. I even had a small group of children follow me for several meters saying loudly "F#ck you, f#ck you, f#ck you". A few of the shops tried to over charge me for items like water, when I had already purchased the same exact items the day before from the same store. This was the first place in Vietnam that I really didn't feel welcomed.

      That's terrible to hear. The young children may not know better or were told it's what you do to welcome or show friendliness towards foreigners by older people who may think it's a joke or for laughs. Who knows, maybe foreigners were teaching them that for kicks. The shop overcharging you sucks balls, for sure. Never assume anything, ask the price and be prepared to walk away. Or just stick with places with prices clearly displayed.

    Try tú làn cave where you have to swim or dive there, complete separate from the outside. And of course sơn đoòng which is the largest cave and the most expensive one, unfortunately 😂

    Love your video's of Vietnam & I'm planning a trip for November 2023. Did you travel from Hanoi to Ninh Binh & then Ninh Binh to Phong Nha by private car for each trip? Seems such a long way, I'm trying to include both of these places in our travels. Did you use a particular private car company?
