My favourite thing about va11 hall-a is the fact that I can relate to it. Too many a time have I made horrible mistakes that have caught up to me, but despite this I carry on like any person would. It’s the epitome of human endurance, even in a world so dramatically harsh

We are infact living within the dystopian future. As a 90s kid believe you could have told me a number of things about the future and would have likely seen its potential. Nothing like what we are currently living however could have been imaginable. The void in my heart was left *by* this game. It ended too early :( the game deserved to be a lot longer and most of the subplots weren’t really finished. The music is amazing though. But thinking about this game makes me feel empty, like when a show gets cancelled before the end of the season

Just finished my second playthrough of Va-11 Hall-A, I made a vow to myself to play this game every November. I'm currently experiencing post game depression again though.
Backlog is longer than years i have ahead but this gem must be added from everything im seeing and the amazing music recently stumbled upon. Reminds me so much of the 90s Genesis gaming music. Perhaps va-11 is a gateway for some into retro gaming 🤔🤔

garoad, the composer of va11halla, also did the music for the horror game yuppie psycho, and while a lot of yuppie psycho’s soundtrack’s got a different vibe given the entirely different setting, the tracks sintranet, the shell, and crimson emerald really have that va11halla future synth-y feel if you want more tracks like these

Finished the game up this morning after accepting that I wasn't gonna be getting more than 2 of hours of sleep that night. First game in a long time where you can actually relate to the characters. This whole game and it's OST is gonna live rent free in my mind for a very long time.
CP77 could've been better but for some reason I felt like the redid the story from scratch and shoehorned Johnny all over the place (the actual lore of the game is deep af)
I'll always always completely adore this game. So funny, goofy, relatable but also serious when it can be One like random thing I really liked too was just how simple and realistic Jill's design and personality is. Like yeah she def still has people obsessed over her but she doesn't fit that cliche moe moe tehehe type we see from a lot of games and anime. It's a lovely change

Currently playing this game. Didn't know it was such a banger and a shitty emotional rollercoaster that made me cry at the most emotional parts, it felt like i'm the character herself. Such a wonderful game despite just a drink-mixing and serve type of game. Absolutely love this game.

My partner of 4 years broke up with me a week ago. We would play visual novel games together, and I was planning on showing her this one, but wasn't able to. So I bought it and played it on my own, and for some reason has really helped. What a beautiful experience, this game is.
Btw, those having post game depression, try Night in the Woods, I have a couple more recs but NitW is the absolute pinnacle of emotional impact so I'd recommend at the very least checking that out
Dawn approaches is my new alarm; the lead up in the beginning is pure ear candy. I also really enjoyed You've Got Me, but overall this is a fantastic playlist I find myself coming back to. Cheers and thanks

Man there's just something about this game that I love, the raw emotion of the story, and the OST that goes with it, just hearing it almost brings me to tears sometimes I fucking love this game.
This game perfectly does a homage to almost everything even slightly cyberpunk. Just to list how many reference things i certainly know from other games: Deus ex, metal gear, ghost in the shell, snatcher, bladerunner of course, akira... Many other things that i can't remember now. Im really waiting for the next game to come. This kind of games are gems many times, even Hideo Kojima was always best at straight up homaging/borrowing stuff and giving own spin to things.
