Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono review - is the Italian single any good?

- Adam Child was at the official presentation of the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono in Valencia for 1000PS and was able to test the world's most powerful road-legal Supermoto for the first time on the kart track! And the racetrack version with the Termignoni racing exhaust was also waiting for him to try: an impressive 84.5 hp at 9,500 rpm and an curb weight of less than 150 kilograms (without fuel) make this Supermoto a real adrenaline rush.

Wow an english 1000PS? That's new to me. Good thing you hired Chadwick of Chaddington for this review! Subbed!
Add another to the list!
I guess they were relying on AI in the early days of this channel.
Sir Chad
I got mine a few days ago. Loving it so far!
UA-cam has now been rebranded 'YouChad'!
I've lost count of how many Chad vids I've watched today alone 😂
Love the Chad
Great review great bike I have a deposit down but will probably keep my 701 (as I love it so much!) love super motos! ❤
Looks phenomenal and I think at that price if you are having more fun than any other bike sounds worth itn
I wants it!
I love my 701 Husky sm but I'm going to have a serious look at the Ducati.....But it's going to have to be good.
701 got way more lower grunt then this 698, your 701 still gonna feel like you'll have more usable power. + it's more affordable to maintain
Being 5’7” how was the seat height of 905mm for you, did the sag allow you to be on your toenails, or did you have to flamingo to one side? Thanks.
I would love to convert one into a Enduro/ADV bike.
Costs way too much, still bought one!
We have reached the point to wonder why 3 stage Endo/Stoppie control is not included...
Ducati dealer in Miami prices these out $21,600 and $20,123 respectively with termignoni installed. everything included out the door. seems excessive.
The 698 is about $10,000 more expensive than a yearly run out KTM 690 SMCR here in Aus. The glaring question for me is: Is it actually $10,000 better?
Especially given if you want the wheelie assist from Ducati you have to add in the Termi Exhaust which is an almost $5,000 AUD option. That's a $30,000 bike.
I'm just not seeing the value.
It’s a play toy for rich people who already have 3 bikes.
Duca-eeeee, Duca-eeee
That cable loop at the windscreen looks absolutely hideous, sorry :/
That's pretty much the de facto solution for any long suspension travel bike.
Ever seen a dirt bike?
@@donkeizluv I'm not debating it's functional or not, just that for a design-brand like Ducati this looks hideous; it's not identical to the 950 but still the same idea/line of bike in the Ducati catalogue... the 950 looks much neater than the mono.
@@joeridestrijcker445 right. Instead of using industry proven solution for long travel forks they should do something else because of "design-brand" which probably overcomplicated and works like dog water
@@donkeizluv why are you so critical about this? I just said it looks hideous, I wasn't questioning if it's the best mechanical or functional solution; Ducati innovates all the time anyway. On some models they have the brake reservoir looking like a urine sample jar, on others they found a very nice way to cover it up and make it look like a nicely integrated part of the handlebar... I wouldn't say the reservoirs are 'bad' either, or they should find a completely different technical solution for them
So this is not really the ktm690 engine?
Headline is a poor question. Of course it’s good, it’s a current Ducati 🏁
the revvy engine is very at odds with the whole supermoto thing to me. You have all this displacement and instead of a torque monster like what KTM does you make this revvy single with way less torque at low rpm? Supermotos want to be shortshifted through a fat midrange, not revved to the moon. This engine would make better sense being in a low displacement racebike like the original supermono
How loud is the race kit?
108 db
Yes Hyper Mono is All Good. Price .. is a Ducati
pretty much all bikes are toys....
Unless you’re an actual motorcyclist and ride most days.
Now, if Ducati put that motor into a sports road bike with a half fairing, or something like the Husky Vitpilen 701, they could take my money tomorrow. As it is, a super motard isn't for me, it's just too much money for a bike you can't use much.
What? A sumo can do whatever a naked does and more. First time hearing this backwards argument
You talkto Mach
just turn down the volume of your phone/pc then lol
It's not.the most powerful because you can still buy a brand new Maico 700 two stroke in supermoto shoes.
