- So, my new project is a big one. Affectionately known as 'Boris' this one will take some time to complete. Just a quick look around the car today, real work will start in the next week or so.
Just caught up with you on this. I've been restoring a Mk1 shell for the last couple of years, was in a very sorry state after being stored since 1974. Your body shell looks very good, good luck !
I am with you on this car I would absolutely love a series 1 or to be fair a series 2 jaguar such an awesome car
What a great project! Very similar to my 1966 3.8 S. Looking forward to following this
This will be stunning - if returned to factory spec.
Will be glued to this build great to see her in safe hands, good luck!
Hell of a project!! I'll be really interested. Something that I always fancied having a go at but never had the ware with all, money or somewhere to do it.
Looking forward to this rebuild love the mk1 jaguar 👍👍
Very interesting project 👍
Great stuff. Will be following this resto for sure. 👍
Interesting story...amazing that you tracked it down and bought it back. Big project that mate! But it's a rare and interesting car and should be saved. Well done for taking it on. I look forward to watching your progress. Best of luck.
Like it alot. Could be a bottomless pit when it comes to sourcing all the missing bits 'n baps. Great Channel Cheers.
Looking forward to watching your progress my Dad had mk 2 and his nickname was Boris, good luck.
Great project . Good on you for keeping it and having a go at the restoration good luck.
Great, will enjoy watching your progress.
Love it.
I just bought an 59'MK1 here in America. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Great project! Good luck, but most importantly, enjoy the journey. I'm doing similar with a 72 XJ6 Series 1.
Superb ...one up here in skip yard that guy won’t sell......
How could a classic car like that be neglected for so long?
Mine build is going real slow
My dad had URW on his new car..talbot horizon..omg
@@Classic_and_Retro I Doubt it it was 1986 my dad died in 1988,my sister had the car for a short while commuting to Newcastle from Coventry,my mum asked if either of us really wanted it we both said no..
If i am being honest i know my dad worked for Humber for 32 years had he bought a ford Escort or Sierra hatchback,or even a Rover/ Vauxhall related car.Perhaps we would have car shared like..
Oh my dad did have a 1954 split screen Morris minor OWK in black 2 door car
Please don't do the conservation of rust thing. It is a different thing for an historically important car like say Mike Hawthorn 's Mk1 (which was destroyed by Lofty England after the fatal crash) .
Ten years ago I "finished" a rolling restoration on an early Mk2 - still the best car I ever had. It took me a few years but it was a thing of beauty when I finished working on it and an absolute joy to drive. One regret I had was that I didn't do a bare metal restoration. I always intended a chemical dipping of the body, but as you say, it is expensive and stripping and rebuilding was a lot of work. At the same time, a MkV dropped into my lap so my energies went there and I sold the Mk2. I regret it now.
I'll be watching the channel with a great deal of interest. BTW
Getting parts for the Mk2 and the MkV was not difficult or expensive once I found the right suppliers.
Such a shame that each time a car changes hands more pieces are lost.
Very iconic interesting car seen worse examples
Classic and Retro exactly where it counts on one of those babies Rome wasn’t built in a day nor was a jaguar
