The XA Falcon did come as a two door hardtop as an option but the phase 4 and the cars were all 4 doors, the rear spoiler was only fitted to gt's as an option and the grills were all the same across the range apart from the optional driving lights fitted higher end models ie, gs, gt and gtho. The green HO was sold by Jack Brabham ford in Sydney to a door to door salesman and was also used as a family car for many years with many miles put on the car. The engine in phase 4 actually put out less horsepower than the phase 3
I'm curious what you think the HP rating was for the Phase 4? From what I've read "official " figures released from the Phase1.5 onwards are always 300hp. We can also judge by top end performance. In the old article "HO Down the Hume" the author achieved 145 mph from a Phase 3. There is a documented Victorian Police chase over 50 years ago where an XA Police car fitted with one of the 37 leftover Phase 4 motors achieved 148 mph chasing a Jaguar. 380 Hp +??
I cannot see the honeycomb grille on any of these cars. May be I'm missing something. Nor can I see the uniques spoiler mounted on the rear deck. Being an Aussie of the era, I know these cars are genuine but the reading of the script doesn't match the video. However, in saying that the any Falcon GTHO is a very special vehicle.
Yeah, I’ve got no idea where they got their “facts” from. Plus referencing the sedan and coupe was confusing and irritating. There are FAR better videos about the Phase 4.
we go on about the Phase 4 GTHO , but only one ever went down the production line. , essentially it appears the rest were tarted up GT'S , silly how so much fuss is made over something that didn't really make it onto the track or show room floor
Headmod engineering had the contrct from Howard Marsden (Ford CEO) to build the Phase III Falcon and that car is a legend to this day but Howard was stubborn and when the XA Falcon was produced he would not listen to the engineers at Headmod when it come to the installation of a crossflow radiator in the XA . The XY had a top bottom tank radiator which was recommended for the cleveland engine from the US as the very first engine landed at Headmod with specific instructions to maintain the top bottom tank radiator. The cleveland also had a unique bucket type thermostat which worked in with the internal bypass built into the front of the cylinder block. Howard would not listen to the main engineer John Bennettt who said that the crossflow radiator will not work in front of that engine and of course he was right. After the crossflow was installed the cleveland engine suffered from head gasket failure right up until the XE falcon.
Brian Inglis was Ford Australia CEO in 1972, Marsden was head of the Ford works team, Not the CEO, Before Marsden it was Al Turner. The CEO before Brian Inglis was Bill Bourke Father of the GT Falcon
I'm subbed, left a thumbs up, and a tap on the bell but I can't say anything about the four door, I'd love to see what that 2 door Falcon looked like. Thanks for sharing this video.
sou do brasil , gosto de carros da ford , na minha pesquisa online o ford mais forte antes dos anos 1980 , seria o the GT-HO Phase III. It's an 11.5:1 compression-ratio 351ci Cleveland V8 (Australia)."
Why is the commentator saying the phase 4 was a 2 door if he looked at the photo's he would have notice it was a 4 door. He also said 1 was factory built the other 3 by outsiders ? It was the factory team that built them.
If you going to talk tech, then talk tech. Get the factual details right. No mention of additional body bracing, 4 bolt block, final drive ration, rear disk brakes and so on. Honey combe grill? I think you got confused with the Xb. This was a waist of my time but promised so much

3:00 no Falcon untill the XR6T came fitted with an Intercooler
A two door coupe with such a distinctive design that it looks like a four door sedan.
ha ha ha spot on. Must admit, I was a bit confused, particularly by the extra wide rear wheel arches

I've driven an XA GT. I got it up to 130mph but it was getting very light in the front, so I slowed down from there.
I thought the honeycomb grill was on the xb model
These falcons are more stylish then the ones in Canada and us
This show is about the XA Ford Falcon GTHO Phase 4. You'll hear this A LOT.
Wasn't that green production model a different colour, it was resprayed in green.

I thought HM only suppled the headers?. and the phase three's basic spec was from Al Turner before he left?.

Why can’t these cars be put on a track just to prove how fast they really are . I don’t think there much faster than cars from that era
HOLDEN Had The V8 XU1 Torana There was Also an XU2 8:00
It’s pronounced ‘coup-A’ not coop.
Calypso Green was the name of the colour I like?
Rear spoiler was aluminium not fibreglass as mentioned .
Appreciate the correction
Why can’t one of these cars be put on a track just to see how fast they really were
What is it with Aussies and 4 doors?
We are a nation of breeders plus you can never have too many fire escapes.
We love them
It had to do with sales. People wanted a nice car but also had families to tote around. A four door is way more practical for that.

Extra body bracing was mentioned. It made the coupe heavier.
@@RevvedUpMusclewhy make videos about the Falcon GT if you know basically nothing about them?
There is another UA-cam channel with Muscle Car of the Week that has actual muscle cars featured.
We would love to know what you’d like to see featured ?
You’re using footage from Australian Muscle Car sales. Do you have permission to do so?
I thought you said it was a coupe? Those were beautiful looking vehicles, but these are all 4 door examples.
All four vehicles were four door sedan's, the Phase IV was sedan whilst the Phase V was meant to the Hardtop which was released in 73
@@aussieausdeutschland4245 Ok, thanks.
Never officially sold to the public
All four Phase IV were all made by Ford factory team

Would Rather an XA , XB , XC everyday of the Week. Wouldn't waste my $$$ on a XYGT .
Then Came The RPO 83 5:42
If only they were exported to the UK 🇬🇧
They did, XB GT falcons were sold in small numbers in the UK
Intercooler ? Do your homework buddy.

😂
Because it's a Ford & NOT a piece of junk holden lol ....
