I have my own Asus XT-8 mesh system (which actually looks a lot like the AT&T gateway you're showing there), do you recommend I stay with my mesh system or go with the AT&T one. I have 3 floors in my house and currently have cable but getting ATT Fiber installed tomorrow.
Hey! Yeah you having that mesh system is way better then att. Use it. Just when the tech is done with the conversion to fiber. Connect your mesh to port 1 of the att gateway. If you know how to turn off the Wi-Fi on the att gateway do that too. Don’t know if the att techs do that for customers.
I am having a big issue with connecting my extender. Att router has a solid white light. But I reset my extender several times and it still ends up with a blinking red light
So with that extender, you’re only getting up to 150mbps? My bgw320-505 gives around 800 when close, but in a corner room of my home it only does about 150. I’m looking for solutions to improve the speeds in that corner room
@@purewhips1 right now Im using the bgw320 as a modem and router. But I just bought a tplink axe5400 in hopes of improving range and speed in the corner room
@@purewhips1 the atnt box is setup deep inside a closet in one of my rooms, I think because it needs that direct line for the fiber optics. Im hoping it will smoothly convert to being a modem only and I can use a third party router with it.. I heard the atnt box might be proprietary and required for fiber optics..
This was very helpful. Wish you had put an Amazon link to the product you're refrencing. Maybe make some referral money. I'll probably buy ths one!

I would NEVER recommend using equipment provided by your ISP if you have a choice

I have tried connecting the extender to my router as well as hitting the wps button. All was done through the smart home manager app
Is it the new 4971?

If it’s that smaller one. From what I have been told is that they no longer work with the bgw320.

What mesh are you using?
The bgw320 has Wi-Fi 6. The Older gen of the mesh only caps with 5g ac/n

@iownjimmy from what I’ve heard. Either use att or go full third party router for Wi-Fi. Don’t mix the two.

They gave you an old extender shouldve given you the 4971
That 4921 is a paid in full product. The 4971 is a payment plan of $10/month.
It's garbage tho, buy your own and future proof it, your not even getting your full speeds with your outdated trash
I'm not finding these for$50 they now run $200 plus
Do not pay $200 for them. Att and making them go EOL
@@purewhips1hola se puede conectar el bgw320 a otro bgw320 inalámbrico para usarlo de repetidor??
