Need a set of assist hooks at the front. Both times the first big GT went at that lure he hit it at the head end. Ever since I was probably ten yrs old I would shape lures and spoons out in my dad's shop. Paint then test them , fine tune then go catch fish one them. It pays to watch how fish approach and where they consistently hit the lure to set up your hook pattern. With the length of that lure your far more likely to foul hook a fish than to expect one to hit it from behind or pass that much lure through its mouth to get to the hook.
You would be surprised what you can make good lures from.

I would wager that you would get more hook ups attaching the hook to the front of the lure at the tie-on point instead of the rear. Reason being most predator fish (and most fish eating animals) will try very hard to eat prey anywhere close to their gape size head first so they can defeat the locking fin spines that prevent swallowing from the rear direction and/or cause injury. That lure is long enough that if they do this they would completely avoid the rear hook

Here in the states we'd call it a baseball bat, for you, I'll say willow, referring to that lure. Did that willow ultimately land anything?? That thing needs another hook or two. At least add another hook to the nose. And maybe a leader with one that reaches the middle. You can use rubber bands to keep them in place, or even glue in a magnet if you're really feeling productive
