- The Double Devon graced Dawlish on its journey from Preston to Plymouth. Powered by two Class 40 diesels, D213 and D345, the British Rail green livery locomotives were introduced in 1958 and 1962.

I think the class 47 on the rear is supplying the ETH as if I recall class 40s are only capable of Steam heating .

I wonder if modern multiple unit trains will be preserved at the end of their working lives. A sign of the times is excursions having to take their own loco to turn the train around via a reversing loop at destination.
They are already saving 125s and railbuses.
