    Here is an impromptu first look at the Arrow PT50 pneumatic stapler -- an air stapler that shoots T50 size staples. This is not sponsored. It is also NOT a review, just a "first impressions" article.
    At the time of writing I was working on a project that required me to shoot a LOT of staples into hard maple. As in, a few hundred staples. So of course I first shot some test staples, and they just would not penetrate.
    Long story short -- Details in the video/article: I found this Arrow PT50 air stapler at my closest big box hardware store. It was the cheapest, it was in stock, it used T50 staples (same as my manual stapler) and the reviews claimed that it would work on Maple and other hardwood. Here is an unboxing and some first impressions.

    Pneumatic air staplers are adjustable by the air pressure settings.

    Great video. Very informative. You call it a 1st impression video, but it is actually better than a lot of "review" videos I've seen. Keep up the good work.

    I got the 20 gauge wide stapler from Harbor Freight for 20 USD after the standard 20% coupon - used it on lots of upholstery and canvas framing projects, hundreds of staples, it saved my hands from cramping up. I must say pneumatic power tools (nailers and staplers) sure pack a punch !
    Its a good thing you haven't bought into the Ryobi style nailers - each unit costs upwards of 129$ - and they don't change tips (16 to 18 to 23 to staples).
    I got a compressor and 2 brad nailers for 129$ all in, and then I can add on pneumatic tools for cheap.

    The depth can be adjusted with the PSI I think.

    I bought one (different brand) recently too and really like it. If you have a big project like insulation and use a manual stapler all day it can really make your hand sore.

    I bought the porter cable pneumatic and love it. Same thing easy to use fires into maple oak black walnut anything you would need. It was also a llot cheaper than the upholstery one too. Plus the staple are a lot more common. I was given a 21 gauge stapler and could not fine staples anywhere.

    Thank you so much for actually showing how to load the gun. I loaded the gun incorrectly as well and was very frustrated after watching a few other videos on the staple gun that did not show how to load the gun. Not quite sure why the actual instruction manual didn't include that as well. Anyway great video thanks.

      I think Lego should take over writing manuals for a lot of companies. Their instructions are clear and illustrated.

    My number one piece of advice for anyone buying this stapler? Keep your receipt.
    I bought the same one a few months back when building my projector screen. I've been using pneumatic tools, staplers included, for over 25 years... and I can say it is VERY well built, especially for the price.
    But the one I got was a complete piece of junk. Staples fired at a less than 50 percent success rate regardless of air pressure.
    When I returned it to the depot, the young lady behind the counter had bought her husband one and returned it as well for the same exact problems.
    I loved this stapler, until I actually used it. I hope EVERYONE who buys one has a different outcome than I did. But it turned me off so much? I wouldn't even considering getting another one.

      Sorry to hear it. In all my shots so far I think I've only had one misfire, no jam, it just didn't come out. Next shot was fine.
      Hoping it keeps it up.

      @@Wordsnwood, I hope it keeps up as well. For you and everyone else.
      But 5:16 looked all too familiar to me. Lol

      Considering that it was the cheapest, I'm pretty happy so far. Too bad about the lack of depth control.

    Thanks for the review.
    I want one of these for installing aluminum siding on an RV. I tried a manual and an electric stapler and had the same problem with staples only driving about half way. The electric was worse. Hoping the pneumatic will work well.

    My... I mean your pin nailer doesn't have a depth adjust, either. Could be some magic involved, since it sinks different length pins into different hardness wood to the same depth every time.

    • @Wordsnwood
      @Wordsnwood  5 років тому +1

      That's true... never thought about it on the pin nailer. On the other hand, my Porter Cable 18 gauge brad nailer does, and I have used it.

    Anyone know if it’s got the reach to tuck in tight to a stair runner where the tread meets the riser, the 90° corner where we use a bolster chisel to get the carpet in tight, at all?

    can you tell me what type of hose you have, I am not sure which kind to purchase

    • @Wordsnwood
      @Wordsnwood  2 роки тому

      I use a Flexzilla air hose. It's very soft and flexible and does not tangle as much as the cheap hose that came with the compressor. Here's an amazon link, though I think Lee Valley and others carry it as well: amzn.to/3HANCzA

    Adjust the depth by reducing the air pressure.

    I have a question for you Sir. I have a Primestitch AU7116 stapler. I do not have the air supply to operate it. Where can I find it and can you use any air supply hose with the staplers? I have no idea how this goes. Lol

    • @Wordsnwood
      @Wordsnwood  9 місяців тому

      pick one up at any big box hardware store. They usually come with a hose.

    I bought an Arrow staple gun last Jan and am just trying to use it. I loaded the staples in as shown, hooked it to my compressor (around 100 psi) and it won't shoot. Any ideas?

    • @Wordsnwood
      @Wordsnwood  2 роки тому +1

      All I know is what I read in the manual... try adjusting up to 120psi, and make sure the staples are all the way loaded ??? Sorry I can't help more

    You just adjust the air pressure at the compressor
    Edit literally commented 10 sec before you said you did this
