About 10 years ago several big time investors (Jeff Gordon and Mike Waltrip to name a few) were going to build a short track on the grounds. About a half mile away from the stadium there is a high rise (well, high rise for Cbus) luxury condominiums that had, at the time, just been built. I’m sure that was the ultimate undoing of the project.

Gordon basically was turned into mush because of the impact force and some track officials said they saw gray liquid which was found to be found smeared brain fluids on the track where his head was drugged across the track. Phillips got up and went roof first into the fence and as a reaction put his hands up and well his hands got ripped off by one the caution lights and most of the top part of his body was ripped apart from the fence itself. I would say visually Phillips was worse but I'm not going to really say which would be worse since they both involved someone dying.
