Love your videos still and though i may not understand a lick of spanish i still prefer actually hearing you over something auto generated, i can at least read subtitles and plus the enthusiasm in your voice is always great to hear
I have several emails from AMMO, they stated on two different occasions that the IONIC and ATOM are the exact same formulation. The only difference is the color.
Part of it is probably the collaboration between the two companies. Any release requires both companies to sign off on it. I am surprised how quiet the Ionic release has been. This is the first product review I have seen on it since the Smartpaint prerelease at Nova early in the year.
Looking at the Ionic brands I like how saturated they are. With the promise of high pigmentation they are significantly cheaper only - 3 dollar USD for 20 ml - and from what I have seen more consistent than other brands marketed towards mixing like Kimera (which I have and I found very inconsistent across the range).
I've snagged some ionic on black friday, and while I generally agree that they don't bring a lot to the saturated market, especially if you have a large collection already, they have some real good coverage and vibrancy. The flesh color is actually opaque vs what I see with other brands, for example. But if you have a loaded toolbox they won't do much for ya
@@Furtuim Exactly. If you're starting out they may bring big value just because they are 20ml bottles and slightly cheaper, but the range is limited. If you are already a veteran with a ton of paint they don't bring enough to the table to warrant a switch.
Good video. I've tried almost all the paints in the video and for me, the 3GEN and Vallejo paints are on a different level to the rest. Personally I would go for the 3GEN. Citadel would be a bit below and then I would put Ionic or Atom together with other brands like Green Stuff or Army Painter, which are not bad but don't reach the quality of the others.

Informative stuff. MIG/AMMO will not clarify the proporties of these two lines, which is strange if they expect consumer to invest in them.

The paint market is pretty saturated (no pun intended). I don't see how these paints stand out from the competition.

@@TrepidDestiny The range has been expanded to 180 colors.
@@ЗлаЗПраков Indeed, quite fast compared to the Two Thin Coats approach to range development and release...

I have all the 3rd gen. I prefer ionic through an air brush. But third generation is also great.
They look great, but I'm not really interested since I have a tons of Vallejo and AK 3rd paints...
Great video. I am looking forward to using these paints.
